5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2007-09-30

I bought this CD for use as a relaxation activity in an early childhood classroom for 3 to 5 year old children and it's wonderful. If I could give it more stars, it would have 10! This would be great for your child to listen to at night to help them wind down for bedtime, or in the afternoon for a rest time activity, and it's great for the classroom. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Great for my 3 yr old!!.......2007-09-25

I have an especially bright but anxious 3 1/2 yr old. I wasn't sure whe was going to take to this cd even after I listened to it. But she LOVES it and goes to sleep every night listening to it! I think it gives her something other than monsters to think about as she is falling asleep. We have been nightmare free wince we got it a week ago!!! I am thinking of making a copy for my 9 month old to listen to in our room as well.. the voice is so soothing and maybe she will like it as too!

5 out of 5 stars Soothing and relaxing for little ones.......2007-09-23

I love these cd's. I got this for my 5yr old because he is highly sensitive. After the daily stresses of (to him) loud noise, ugly smells, crowed class rooms, this cd helped him make it through kindergarden. And now he's enjoying first grade. I don't know what I would of done without Indigo Dreams.

4 out of 5 stars A nice cd.......2007-09-08

My kids and I have listened to this, and it's very relaxing. My 4-yr-old son and 8-yr-old daughter have both been fairly wiggle-free during listening. It's a nice wind-down at the end of the day. Sometimes the speaker seems a little too slow-talking for me, but when I just relax and calm down, it doesn't bug me as much. I very much enjoy relaxation and visualization techniques, and am happy to pass along the benefits to my kids.

5 out of 5 stars Great for 4 year olds and 30 year olds!.......2007-06-22

I bought this for my 4-year-old daughter who is high-spirited and has a hard time settling down at night. She loves this. We keep the CD on "repeat" through the night. That way if she wakes up, she just listens to the CD and it puts her back to sleep. No need to come to Mom and Dad's room! Yay! It's also the only meditation CD that I enjoy, for myself.

Book Description

Written by Microsoft software legend Juval Lowy, Programming WCF Services is the authoritative introduction to Microsoft's new, and some say revolutionary, unified platform for developing service-oriented applications (SOA) on Windows. Relentlessly practical, the book delivers insight, not documentation, to teach developers what they need to know to build the next generation of SOAs.

After explaining the advantages of service-orientation for application design and teaching the basics of how to develop SOAs using WCF, the book shows how you can take advantage of built-in features such as service hosting, instance management, asynchronous calls, synchronization, reliability, transaction management, disconnected queued calls and security to build best in class applications. Programming WCF Services focuses on the rationale behind particular design decisions, often shedding light on poorly-documented and little-understood aspects of SOA development. Developers and architects will learn not only the "how" of WCF programming, but also relevant design guidelines, best practices, and pitfalls. Original techniques and utilities provided by the author throughout the book go well beyond anything that can be found in conventional sources.

Based on experience and insight gained while taking part in the strategic design of WCF and working with the team that implemented it, Programming WCF Services provides experienced working professionals with the definitive work on WCF. Not only will this book make you a WCF expert, it will make you a better software engineer. It's the Rosetta Stone of WCF.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Have!.......2007-10-01

Excellent book, it covers every thing you need to know about WCF. Have in mid that this book is not for begginers

5 out of 5 stars Great book on a big subject.......2007-09-05

Arguably, WCF is the most revolutionary development in current software trends. It may change completely technological landscape developers live and work in since the appearance of .NET platform.
Juval Lowy (once again!) has written an extraordinary book. Seemingly he has an absolute and complete knowledge on the subject.
What strikes me even more, is how carefull and lovingly Juval leads the reader through the forest of technical details to the deep and solid understanding of both underlying technology and practical implementation of WCF.
If after hours of reading you suddenly feel lost, all you have to do is go back half a page and you are on track again.
I just wish I had such a wonderfull teacher every time I have to learn something new.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to understand.......2007-09-03

Juval writes like a real educator. Where other books fails to explain in simple terms, Juval Löwy is very easy to understand. His book has a wonderful layout, which makes it easy to find what your are looking for.
Thank Juval.

5 out of 5 stars A "Must-Have" Book for Programming WCF.......2007-08-30

If you are going to use WCF in your enterprise applications, then this is the book you want to buy. We are converting our .NET 1.1 web services over to WCF and find this book to be absolutely essential. This is the stuff you can't glean from Internet posts. A truly irreplaceable knowledge builder and reference tool.

5 out of 5 stars Learn WCF the right way instead of piecmealing sub-standard techniques from bloggers........2007-08-28

I'm part of a middleware group and we are migrating to WCF. This book was just technical enough, concise and it has been very helpful in several cases. It's gotten me started and helped fill in the details where I needed it. Probably my favorite part, was the astute and very well reasoned description of Service-Orientation in Appendix A.

You're not going to waste your time reading fluff like so many other books.

Do you think your child is special? Well, perhaps he or she is! Self-help professionals Lee Carroll and Jan Tober have collected essays by dozens of doctors, counselors, and other childhood experts that seem to document the arrival on earth of a newly evolved species of human kiddie referred to here as an "indigo" child. The 10 most common traits are: 1.) They come into the world with a feeling of royalty. 2.) They have a feeling of deserving to be here. 3.) Self-worth is not a big issue. 4.) They have difficulty with authority by ritual or without explanation. 5.) They simply will not do certain things. 6.) They get frustrated with systems that don't require creative thought. 7.) They often see better ways of doing things. 8.) School is often difficult for them and they can seem antisocial. 9.) They will not respond to guilt-trip discipline. 10.) They are not shy about letting you know what they need.

If your little angel/devil fits this pattern and you are pulling your hair out trying to relate, you may want to read this book before resorting to Ritalin. --P. Randall Cohan

Book Description

An Indigo Child is a child who displays new and unusual psychological attributes that reveal a pattern of behavior generally undocumented before. This pattern has factors that suggest that parents and teachers change their treatment and upbringing of these special kids in order to achieve balance.

5 out of 5 stars Indigo Children ~ Super Sensitive Kids.......2007-08-17

I'd like to refer anyone reading this comment to the reader who posted this review: The Quintessential Resource On Indigos, April 23, 2005...scroll back and take a look. They said everything perfectly! Why be redundant?

I would like to clear up, though, the misconception that seems to be floating out there that these kids don't need boundaries, guidance. That's totally untrue. They DO. Moreso than the other children. These children need these things to grow up to be respectful adults. If not, they WILL grow up thinking it's a free for all. Yes, they are different..yes, they require tons more patience, but they are sooo worth it!

I hate labels. Of any kind. ADD, ADHD...even Indigo, Crystal, Rainbow, etc. Personally, I feel these children should be called "Super Sensitive Kids". By that, I'm talking about their inner energy and needing to channel it properly; anyway, that is for another topic:~) Please read the book with an open mind.

4 out of 5 stars Indigo Children.......2007-01-15

A wealth of knowledge-extremely helpful when communicating with indigo children. A ray of light on such a difficult topic.

1 out of 5 stars Complete garbage.......2006-11-28

This is an utter and total waste of time and money. Be real to yourself and your child, get some professional advice, not this pathetic drivel.

1 out of 5 stars I hate this book.......2006-11-19

I hate this whole idea. I'm so tired of new agers sitting around doing nothing waiting for someone else to do all the work and save them. It's pathetic.

I also hate how this author wants to neatly categorize people into tiny little boxes and put one neat little label on them. Just the idea that an entire generation could be summed up in 1 sentence is insulting to any intelligent human being.

Am I an indigo kid? I don't know. I'm certainly in the age group and I certainly have a complete lack of respect for authority. I know who I am. I also can't stand hypocrisy and people who won't get things done for themselves. I am exceedingly empathic and can read people like a book, even over the internet. But I do not have ADD. I'm not here on some mission as a vanguard for a buncha little kids. I'm not here to save humanity from anything. Humanity should save itself. I have patience.

This book is just another example of a broken new ager praying that someone will tell her what to do.

1 out of 5 stars I am so sad.......2006-11-06

As an early childhood educator I am extrememly concerned at the popularity of this idea. "Kryon and his earthly messengers" have made over 2.5 million dollars from these books and self-help seminars (one site offers a recorded message that you can listen to by phone for only $79!) ADD, ADHD and Aperger's Syndrome are real problems that our kids face. Yes, I agree that kids today are not like we were, but doesn't every generation make that staid observation? The world moves faster every day and then we are shocked that our children struggle to keep up. Anyone with a basic knowledge of the roots of ADD and ADHD knows that they are NOT disorders of a surplus of energy but are in fact the opposite, and profiteers are making money off of parents who don't know how to help these children learn. We do them all a disservice by allowing this shameful manipulation of the very real suffering of the next generation. Shame on you.

5 out of 5 stars Even the young feel stress.......2007-09-23

I got this for my 9yr old to help him get to sleep on school nights when he claimed he wasn't tired. It worked like a charm. Every night he would try to stay awake to hear it to the end. Two months later he is still trying to hear the end. I also have Indigo Dreams for the younger kids for my 5yr old. When he went to his first sleep over I sent it with him just incase he started feeling scared at bed time. The friends mother said he didn't need it but listened to it herself and loved it and asked where I got it. She had a 10yr old who was having trouble the night before she had a test. I offered her this cd for a few days. When she returned it she informed me she had purchased both for her kids. Keep up the great work. Highly recommened.

    5 out of 5 stars Tranquility!.......2007-09-14

I bought this for my kids after they grew tired of my own, self-published children's books, "The L'il Zombie" and "Flesheaters from Candyland." They now have the placid demeanor of Herbalife franchisees, though actually scaling those heights may be tough for them later in life.

    4 out of 5 stars Indigo Ocean - Children's Stories.......2007-08-29

I bought this as a gift for a friend's children they Love it, asking to listen to it each night.

    5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2007-06-12

I've never written a review before but this CD was so great. I rely on these reviews to buy so I know how important they are. I bought the CD because my 8 year daughter old has been suffering from "tummy aches" and panic attacks at night. She really enjoyed the stories. The guided meditations helped calm her down. My 5 year old son just enjoyed listening to the bedtime type stories as he drifted off to sleep. He requests to listen to it several nights a week and doesn't seem to get sick of it. They love them so much I'm going to try the "sister" cd next. Great buy!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome CD for children!!! (even adults/family).......2007-05-14

Our four children; age range of 5 to 12 years love this CD. The stories and then the relaxing music at the end is fantastic. We have everything from a stressed out "tween" to a hyper 5 year old, and they feel that the music combined with the relaxing voice of the stories really help them. We put the CD on when they are playing in their rooms and my husband and I agree that the messages on this CD give them such a different feeling about themselves, always positive. We give this information a 5* rating, we love it as a family of 6.

1 out of 5 stars Indigo Dreams: Adult Relaxation.......2007-09-28

This was one of the worst 'relaxation' techniques I have ever experienced. I would rate this <1, but that was not a choice. I bought two different CDs on the same day and I have listened to Indigo Dreams only twice; the first time I turned it off and the second was to make sure I heard it correctly the first time. This CD is useless to me, since I bypass most of it. The breathing exercises are absolutely horrible; the counting seems to make you FORCE your breath, as opposed to relaxing and allowing your body to do what's natural. I would not recommend this for anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for!!.......2007-08-02

I remember when I was going thru the most difficult time in my life as was my 4 year old daughter when I divorced 4 years ago. The childrens Indigo Dreams was a miracle worker in getting rid of her nightmares and just getting her to sleep and deal with all her emotions of losing the only home she knew and parents going thru the most difficult time in their lives. I had wished there was an adult CD that could do for me what this one did for her I even listened to it with her b/c it was so effective for her!! LOL

Now 4 years later being in a different space in my life I was looking for something to help deepen my prayer and mediation. B/c I am a home health nurse in the most populated area for the elderly so my patient load can really stress me out this CD is a Godsend!

Years ago my mother who was a yoga teacher referred me to a breathing class with what she said was such an excellent male teacher to help me breath correctly to release my stress. Well I paid 60 dollars almost 10 years ago for that class and this CD gives me that and I can replay it to integrate it to habit. The class was not nearly as informative. What I enjoy most about this CD is the soothing voice while actually teaching you while relaxing you it is amazing how deep I have been able to go and feel like I had a full night's sleep afterwards!

I paid 60 dollars for one breathing class and this gave me 4 classes in one that are everlasting. I especially loved the visualization class on this CD. I have always wanted to know the chakra system but could not remember each of the colors that coordinate with the parts to relax to and just a 5 times in listening to this CD and I have it down pat!

And what I have been doing is leaving the last track on repeat and just floating all night long. B/c I have had a hysterectomy I wake up all night long well since I got this CD a few days ago I slept all night long!!! That is what inspired me to write this review this morning at 6 AM. I am about to go do my diabetic patients and I have sooo much energy b/c all night I was starting to wake and immediately was lulled back to sleep with what I call the floating music on the last track. That was what I LOVED about my daughter's indigo dreams CD and now I have one to not only help me relax but teach me how to relax and distress all the way down to the cell level

Thanks LORI LITE you NEVER disappoint me! I give your CDs to all my friends and patients who tell me about their children and grandchildren going thru difficult times for sleep or stress well now I have an adult one to refer and give for birthday gifts and "just because" gifts! Thanks so much!! Lite books I was really impressed!

    5 out of 5 stars Imcalmtonite.......2007-07-29

I purchased this CD based on the positive reviews I read and the positive results I have seen with my twin daughters who listen to the Indigo Dreams CD for children. Having a very stressful life as a full time physical therapist and a full time job at home as a mom with a 7yr. old boy and two 5 yr. old twin girls I look to calm down at bedtime swiftly.
The muscular relaxation track is well done. I have the experience of attending several stress management classes. The teachers remind us that breaking down the body in sections to relax adequately is the right way it should be handled. I see that in this CD the author follows the same pattern.
The breathing exercises are on track. They are definitely welcoming and encouraging. First the narrator instructs you on correct breathing. Next the focus is on breathing exercises. Its great how the instructor guides you through 3 breaths at a time with intervals of rest. It is just enough breathing for me and I can actually feel my heart rate decrease to a nice resting pattern and I know I am relaxing!
The visualization track guides me through an exercise of seeing and experiencing different colors. You actually react to the visualization of color! Its great how this author picks up on the whole body internally as well as working on the muscular system.
Many nights I like to listen to music to rest. I like the music track I have from this Author. They run 12-15 minutes. The music is really soothing to my nerves. It would be a plus to have another CD of music! Who knows I will pay attention to this group maybe they will do this for their next CD.

1 out of 5 stars Worst Meditation CD I've Ever Listened To.......2007-06-28

I bought this CD based on the reviews and was HIGHLY disappointed. I was looking for a Guided Meditation to aide me in relaxing and this does the opposite for me. It starts out with an "I Love Myself" mantra, aka "Affirmations." The rest of the CD actually makes an attempt at guiding you through mediation but it serves, at least for me, only as a distraction. After giving it more chances, I found myself constantly questioning if the writer has ever meditated in her life. There is never silence, offering a chance to collect your own thoughts. Rather than bashing every track (which I could easily do) I will give one example. During the "Muscular Relaxation" track, the same saying is repeated over and over and over and over again for different parts of your body. There is no visualization and you know EXACTLY what will be said next after listening to the first three lines. In the end, I found that it makes me angrier rather than relaxed. Feel free to buy my copy.

Readers who complain that there's too much wisecracking and cute icon worship in Robert Crais's books about Los Angeles private eye Elvis Cole will be glad to find these traits downplayed (but not totally disappeared) in this story about Cole's search for a missing printer whose specialty is funny money. The book is centered by the presence of the printer's three children--especially the motherly 15-year-old Teri and the obnoxious 12-year-old Charles--who hire Elvis from the phone book. Cole, hoping to become the stepfather of the son of his own lady love, gets sucked in by the children's combination of need and family unity, and soon finds himself in the middle of a shooting war between Russian gangsters, Vietnamese patriots, and ambiguous Federal agents. Previous Elvis outings in paperback: Sunset Express, Free Fall, Lullaby Town, The Monkey's Raincoat, Stalking the Angel, Voodoo River.

    Book Description

Life in the California sun suits Elvis Cole—until the day a fifteen-year-old girl and her two younger siblings walk into his office. Then everything changes.

He’s facing a storm of desperation and conspiracy—bearing down on three children whose only crime was their survival. . . .

    Customer Reviews:

    4 out of 5 stars Good read.......2007-08-24

This is my first Robert Crais book but it won't be my last. I especially enjoyed his (the author's and Elvis's) voice - casual, laid back, self-deprecating.

Crais gets a lot of meat in one descriptive paragraph and, as such, is a master of characterization. I especially liked what he did with the kids and the girlfriend.

The plot twist at the end might have been a tad too much, but it was forgivable given all that went on before.

    Good read.

Loren Christensen - coauthor of On Combat and a bunch of others.

3 out of 5 stars Good ,Light, Crime Novel.......2007-06-22

Elvis is involved in finding the father of three mother-less children. As you probaly will guess the story becomes more involved. Elvis is great. Lucy his girlfriend is interviewing for a television job.
Joe Pike protects the kids. And Russian mobsters show up in Los Angelos.
    This is a relaxing read.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent leisure choice for mystery fans........2007-03-06

Robert Crais' INDIGO SLAM provides an involving Elvis Cole novel which receives David Stuart's winning voice and tells of a teen who entices Elvis to search for her missing father. The case should be easy - but the father is involved in the criminal underworld and soon Elvis is in over his head in this fun, involving mystery. An excellent leisure choice for mystery fans.

5 out of 5 stars Fast And Entertaining Detective Story.......2006-06-02

It starts out simple enough. A 15-year-old girl and her two younger siblings hire Elvis Cole to find their father who has been missing for eleven days. The situation becomes extremely complicated from there. If you were to plot this story on a graph, it might end up looking like a spider's web. But Crais makes it work. This book was originally published in 1997 and reissued in 2003. It's a fast and entertaining read.

    4 out of 5 stars A man keeps disappearing.......2006-05-16

3 1/2 to four stars - definitely not five. A counterfeiter who acted as a government witness against Russian gangsters in Seattle is put into a witness protection program in Salt Lake City by Federal Marshalls. He disappears, along with his three children. Three years later, his children appear in Elvis Cole's office wanting him to find there father. They had been living under a new name in Los Angeles, and he went out 11 days earlier and has not come back. His oldest daughter, fifteen-year-old Teresa, has a wad of cash. Events move on from there.

The story is generally well written as Elvis looks for the father, encounters bad guys, finds the father, loses him again, and eventually finds him again. Along the way, he discovers other people are looking for the man, including the Russian gangsters and the Federal Marshalls Service. The Secret Service is also interested, and the FBI becomes involved along with the local police. In a side plot, Elvis also has to deal with his girlfriend's ex-husband.

There were, perhaps, too many twists added to the end of the story, and it became a little unreal. Also, the author's description of Seattle settings seemed a little off. Has he ever visited the city? He also keeps referring to Los Angeles hills as mountains. Perhaps he has never seen a real mountain.

Excellent book with deep insights into our relationships with the indigo children. Many revelations about dealing with our own personal anger.

5 out of 5 stars Transforming Anger is good for Every One.......2006-04-01

After having read just half of this book, I was using the techniques to overcome the trauma of a criminal intrusion in my life.

The author has gone beyond others on this topic to map out the journey of anger and a possible pathway back to peace. I think any book on this subject is exploratory. The terrain is uncharted by experts in psychology to my knowledge.

I found this book very readable, encouraging, helpful, and somewhat miraculous in terms of applicability to my circumstances.

I do not know if there is a standard of excellence by which to measure this kind of work. I applaud anyone for trying to write on the subject of anger and how to work with it. It is certainly relevant for any modern city dweller. Three hundred cheers to Dianne Lancaster.

    5 out of 5 stars great advice.......2004-12-03

This book offers advice and practical methods to help not only your child but your entire family handle, redirect and diffuse anger. Every parent and teacher should read this so they can become a part of the solution of raising a society of happy, communicative, calm children. I also believe in teaching children self-calming techniques like breathing, affimations, and relaxation.

I recommend audio book/CDs called "Indigo Dreams" and "Indigo Ocean Dreams" to anyone that has taken the initiative to help children manage anger.

5 out of 5 stars With Anger Awareness and Action, We All WIN.......2004-09-01

We have all heard the familiar adage "the children are our future." This generation of Indigo Children is not only our future but our present as well. The Indigo children are both exceptionally gifted and extremely sensitive (emotionally challenged.) We can live in harmony with the children and nuture them to their full potential, or we can continue to allow the emotion of anger run needlessly towards rage. The choice is ours: to read the book is a WIN/WIN proposition for all.

I am grateful for the vision of the author, Dianne Lancaster, who has very astutely brought to our awareness something so powerful and at the same time simplistic. An awareness designed for action. Anger and the Indigo Child enables us to recognize and change the emotion of anger into a productive, harmonic relationship with life. This book is a MUST READ for EVERYONE. We all have a connection to anger or angry people in our lives. This book goes beyond the publications that have introducted the concept of the Indigo Child by addressing the emotional challenges the Indigo Child will face AND giving practical guidelines for us to act upon that are very empowering for all (including the angry person).

This book is an excellent resource and "if" as adults we had "required reading" I would put Anger and the Indigo Child on top of the pile for all of us. Imagine life's possibilities when we act upon the author's insights and transform anger into love!

5 out of 5 stars Valuable for All Parents, especially those with Indigo child.......2003-07-20

More attention to Indigo Children. There's a movement afoot to raise the societal and parental consciousness about a "special" group of children known as Indigos. The writings in the field suggest that they're significantly different than other children of their generation-the children of today. I suspect that those kids that we identify as "Indigo" are but the leading edge of an entire generation of such people...which makes every book on this topic substantially more meaningful. Books on this topic-including this one-should be required reading for university students preparing to be teachers and counselors, let alone those who are practicing in the field already.

Chapter One of this book explains the terminology, so you don't have to scurry around looking for references to understand the perspectives. Nevertheless, I'd recommend you read "The Indigo Children" by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober and "The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children" by Doreen Virtue. Their work will give you deep insight into Indigos, while this book focuses on anger management issues and techniques and their relationship to Indigo children...and others.

At first, scanning the table of contents, I suspected this was the work of an anger therapist or seminar leader looking for another place to promote her work. Part of this attitude on my part came from seeing the trademark indicator on several of Lancaster's theories and approaches. As I read the book, I came to realize that the trademarks show that this professional has done some fine, groundbreaking work that is worthy of respect and recognition. There's a tremendous amount of good content in this volume.

Chapter Three caught my attention: 44 Ways to Show Kids You Care. There's a whole book right there, I pondered. And, sure enough, there is a great deal of advice in those pages. Thinking of how I'd applied the principles with my own children, I patted myself on the back reading a few of them-emphasis on the word "few." Every parent should have this list on a laminated card within easy reach.

The book continues with the same value, chapter after chapter. Not every word is an original thought of Dianne Lancaster. She brings in chapters written by others or tapping into the work of others. This technique makes two statements to me: first, Lancaster realizes she doesn't have all the answers (bravo!), and second, she knows who does have answers and invests an extra effort to be sure the reader gains maximum benefit from her book.

I will admit that there are parts of this book, like the chapter on symbology, that stretched credibility for me. You should know that I'm fairly well hard-wired to solid knowledge and some of the approaches in this field push the edges of my envelope. What does this mean to you? As a reader, your mind will be stretched. Even if you reject some part(s) of what you read in this book, you will gain so much that you'll want to read some sections again. The book is designed to facilitate that kind of usage, so go right ahead.

Glossary, Resource List, no index. It would have been nice to have an index, but the Table of Contents is so comprehensive, you don't really need an index.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to compose a letter to my Indigo child. Yes, a letter: to give her time to re-read, re-think, and absorb, as you'll do with this book.

4 out of 5 stars Read With an open Mind.......2007-09-10

Some ideas in this book were right on, some were unbelieveable to me (such as indigos choosing their own age to die - particularly living to be a few hundred years old). Aside from strange ideas like that I think the information in this book can help indigos and non indigos, such as eating healthy and avoiding dyes and preservatives. However, contrary to popular belief, I do not believe most indigo's are true ADD or ADHD, and the ones in this book giving their eperience of the medicines were biased. Medicine does help some children who truly need it (though I believe you should try to wait until they are at least 8-9 years old). Doctors will happily write any parent a perscription because they make money doing so. This is what they have been taught. Parents should always try alternative methods first, and also check for common allergies (wheat, milk, soy, eggs, peanuts etc.) My sons have a wheat allergy (one who is an indigo in particular, his behavior changed drastically when wheat and milk were removed from his diet. The older one (a sweet crystal child) did start medicine when he was 9 but takes a low dose, does not "space out on meds or seem high", and was able to get out of a self contained class to regular classes, have a B+ average, and has his PDD_NOS / autism diagnosis now classified in partial remission. He has many friends and is well liked by his teachers as well. You can not tell he is different (he grew out of his odd speech) except for the fact he is so well behaved. His other brothers, well thats another story...(but they're great too!)

I believe many of the indigos in here were mislabled (as they could be gifted), and ADHD and gifted children share traits such as questions and challenging authority. They were not severe enough to warrent meds, but unfortunately schools pressure it when children do not conform. Always keep respect for your child and give them love and structure (and discipline if needed.)

Putting down meds so much I believe causes a separation between traditional and alternative medicine when what I feel is needed is a blending of the two systems to benefit the whole population, indigo or not.

    4 out of 5 stars It's good and informative.......2007-01-13

This book is ok. I'm a christian person and who also likes New Age stuff.
The author did the best she could in this subject. I enjoyed fully it was not a waste of my money. Whatever your believes are in does not matter b/c the truth is that there are special souls born into this Earth with a special purpose and they have been given more talents and more strenght to accomplish this mission. It's a true fact that stronger souls are being born now. Look at the world around you, it makes sense.I say if you are curious get it and you'll be ok.

3 out of 5 stars This is a NEW AGE book on childrearing. Take it or leave it........2007-01-11

I've seen a lot of reviewers trash this book because they think it is a lot of nonsense New Age mallarky.

People, THIS IS A NEW AGE BOOK! If you do not subscribe to the metaphysical philosophy, don't buy this book. It's that simple. There is no need in insulting everybody who DOES believe such things by saying this book is stupid because it is too spiritual. Go find a Dr. Phil book and have it your way. Leave the review area for people who knew what they were getting when they bought the book.

    1 out of 5 stars GROSS!.......2006-06-02

That is the best title I can think of for this review because that is how disgustingly stupid this book is. I'm amazed that it's apparently been bought by so many. I encountered a confused woman with awful dyed red hair who dances on the sidewalk on Wyoming Blvd., Albuquerque as if she were insane. She brought up that she had a friend who had an Indigo child, which was the first time I heard of it. She didn't explain what it was but then I read this book...

WHAT GROSS STUPIDITY THIS BOOK IS! New age nutballery mixed with psychobabble. The evidence? Here you go:

The authors would have you believe that you can spot an indigo child because

    1) "they came into the world with a feeling of 'royalty'" YEAH! Like a baby is going to tell you that? The hell? And what, when they are three years old they make sense? I want evidence that kids coming into this world, as soon as they are born, or at three or any age, remember they felt like royalty after coming to this world lol.

    2) "They have a problem with authority." HELLO WHO DOESN'T? And what, the authors figure this out when the baby starts crying after being spanked?

    3) "Self-worth isn't a big issue, instead they often tell parents, 'who they are'." What the hell does that mean? Saying "I'm Jayden" or "I'm the boss not you stupid mom!" doesn't have anything to do with my worth, but if a child was saying, "I'm superior" by saying who he or she was, that would show that they have a over-inflated self worth, not that self-worth meant NOTHING to them. Furthermore, if they didn't understand what self-worth was or hadn't heard of it, then of course it won't be a big issue to them because they'd never even heard of it before, duh? And how many kids understand what self-worth is anyways?

    4) "They won't do certain things." Uh, yeah, a lot of people won't do certain things, that doesn't make them a special pre-created spirit sent to annoy people.

    5) "They have a feeling of deserving to be 'here' (I suppose that means Earth?)." O.k.? Hey world I deserve to be here! Uh, yeah, and? Even if a kid felt that way, let alone anyone, who the hell cares and why wouldn't it be a sign of stupidity and arrogance to feel that way? And is there some evidence that a person deserves to be on Earth?

    1 out of 5 stars Skip it.......2006-05-12

Indigo is another word for ADD or ADHD and, in the end, this book offers NO solutions or assistance of any kind. It is an insulting and ignorant look at what so many families are struggling with and sends the underlying message, "You're doing it all wrong."

Don't buy this book and don't waste any time thinking you are a lazy, incapable parent because you can't solve ADD or ADHD. Instead, look for real resources and doctors who can help you and your family.

    Book Description

The Children of Now is a groundbreaking work that shows that a large number of kids come into the world bearing inherent gifts that are beyond strange--they are telepathic, understand subtle energies, and/or have amazing psychic abilities. Many of them remember where they were before they came to Earth and often can describe past lives.

Many doctors mislabel them as autistic, ADD, ADHD, or suggest other behavioral difficulties. More than half the time, these doctors are wrong. The Children of Now are not defective--they are differently functional. We are doing ourselves and the world a great disservice by not acknowledging these amazing children and their special gifts.

A surprising percentage of these children carry within themselves wisdom far beyond most adults. The phenomenon is very real, and more and more of these highly evolved children enter our world every day. The Children of Now offers not only genuine stories of many children who have brought amazing talents into our world, but also practical, easy solutions to assist society in supporting and nurturing these gifted--not defective--children and their families, rather than labeling, segregating, and condemning them.

Fascinating to anyone with an open mind, and life-illuminating for parents with these incredible kids, Meg offers detailed answers derived from counseling real kids in real families.

The Children of Now is a must-read for every parent, teacher, caregiver, and child advocate. In it you'll discover:

    - Why our children's DNA is different from previous generations'.
    - The traits and needs of the Crystalline Children.
    - The Children of the Stars and why they are here.
    - Real stories of real children as Dr. Meg helps them and their families search for answers.
    - Why these kids are exhibiting telepathy, telekinesis, healing abilities, and more.
    - How to help the Children of Now at home, at school, and socially.

4 out of 5 stars The Children of Now.......2007-09-20

I found this book very interesting. Dr. Meg's evolution and her description of her development and how it dovetailed into working with these kids was fascinating.

    5 out of 5 stars Fascinating book!!!.......2007-04-29

This book is a definite must for anyone around gifted kids,be it an overnight sitter or a parent.Meg describes the phenomenon in a believable, down to earth style without the New Age hype and sentimentalism that is characteristic of so many others who write about the gifted kids. The author also mentions valuble tips on how to support and nurture these kids in the last chapter.Overall, I believe this will be a major step forward in the upbringing of these children. The only part which I felt was somewhat lacking is the despcription of the aura, the differences between each energy type in it and what traits a certain type might cause in a child.

5 out of 5 stars This book is a must read!.......2007-04-21

I got it from the library, read it in one evening, and promptly came here to get one in a hurry. It blew me away! Some of the information was familiar but the new information was tremendous. She explained what is going on with the most compassion. And she speaks from personal experience, not just from research. This should be REQUIRED reading for anyone in charge of kids.

5 out of 5 stars The Children of Now.......2007-03-29

Hello: This information explains the behavior and unique giftedness of what is perceived as abnormalilties in children. Children are our hope for the future.

The institutions which are in place to serve our children are antiquated and disempower the children rather than nurture and educate them; this being schools and medical system alike.

A must read for both professionals and parents.

5 out of 5 stars Coming Home .......2007-03-09

Reading this book was in large part like coming home. Not only do I live and breathe much of the experience this book is talking about, yet it gave me new ways of seeing what I already know. I felt myself relax and expand at the same time. It was like an aha moment when I became reinforced and reenergized to completely know I am sharing my experiences with others similarly. How gratifying. Dr. Meg removes the thin veil to disclose the unique and sensitive attributes of these highly aware children. I am grateful to gain a better understanding of what they truly need, and what they don't to feel honored.
