Book Description
There will be three, kin of your kin . . .
The wild cats have flourished in their new home on the banks of the lake for several seasons, and the Clans are growing strong and healthy with new kits. The time has come for three kits of ThunderClan to become apprentices.
Hollypaw, Jaypaw, and Lionpaw spring from a strong legacy: children of Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw, two of the noblest ThunderClan warriors, and grandchildren of the great leader Firestar himself. All three young cats possess unusual power and talent and seem certain to provide strength to the Clan for the next generation.
But there are dark secrets around the three, and a mysterious prophecy hints at trouble to come. An undercurrent of rage is rising against those who are not Clanborn, and the warrior code is in danger of being washed away by a river of blood. All the young cats' strength will be needed if the Clans are to survive.
. . . who hold the power of the stars in their paws.
Customer Reviews:
Good!.......2007-10-01
I really think that this book kind of created a new writing style for all the series. I mean, there was one for Warriors, there was one for New Prophecy, and there is a new one for this, and I think that it is really good. I really think that the Erin Hunters outdid themselves on this one.
Great Book.......2007-09-19
I really liked the new Warriors book! I can't wait until the next book comes out. This book is by far Hunter's best book. Jaypaw, the main character, is angry most of the time because he believes his clanmates think he is weak. Jaypaw, Hollypaw and Lionpaw are the grandchildren of Firestar, Sandstorm, Goldenflower and Tigerstar, from previous books. And they are the children of Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight. Hollypaw becomes the medicine cat apprentice, but then realizes she has special abilities as a fighter just as Lionpaw is a fine hunter and Jaypaw has mysterious powers with StarClan.
Choose your poison: Predictable Plot or Irritating Characters?.......2007-09-05
The Sight tries to recapture the original series, but Firestar's grandkits are tiresome. Jaykit in particular is exasperating; being blind apparantly means that nothing in the world is good enough, and your handicap gives you grounds to continuously complain. Hollykit's arc in exploring medicine cattery seems pointless, (because it ultimately is), and Lionkit is instantly forget-able as an ... arrogant cat who falls into a tunnel?
Being a Warrior apparantly means that you have to be miserable, while you're upholding a code that keeps changing every time the elders feel you need chiding. There have to be 4 Clans, but not really, because there were 5, and StarClan just decided not to tell you. You can't abandon a kit, no matter what, but not really, because Shadowclan likes watching the ones that get caught in snares. And don't forget that StarClan is all-powerful, except when they tell you they aren't, and helpfully offer obscure prophecy. A true Warrior doesn't trespass or steal prey, but no one ever seems to call Shadowclan or Windclan out on that during the Gatherings. And even though the code says a cat is supposed to help a cat that asks for it, none of the leaders ever do, because it'd look bad. They'd rather keep their pride than feed their dying elders.
Ultimately, I can't understand why an animal as naturally disdainful and independent as a cat would swear allegience to such smoky laws. Gatherings especially irk me, because no cat would ever bother to find out how another pack is doing, especially if they're not on their territory. Why go to see a bunch of cats brag about how well they're doing?
The world-building in Warriors doesn't stand up to a lot of scrutiny, and any reader that bothers to start looking closer will find themselves disappointed. Young readers are more likely to forgive the large holes (suspesion of disbelief is always easier when you're little), but that will last only as long as that reader is young. But they grow up, and Warriors will become replaced by better anthropomorphic fantasy, like Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams, and Fire-Bring by David Clement-Davies.
You don't have to be a kid to love the Warrior Cats.......2007-08-29
I am 54 yrs. old and a grandmother. A year ago I was unemployed and was at the bookstore and they had one of the Warrior Cat books on display up front. I am a huge cat/dog lover and I foster cats for a local rescue. Well, I couldn't put these books down. I bought one after another. I hadn't been to the bookstore in awhile as I am working again. Last night I bought The Sight and I can hardly wait to read it this weekend. I'm addicted and I know this book will be just as good as the first. For young and old alike...read The Warrior Cat books....they are delightful!!! Kudos to Erin Hunter for providing an intermediate book series so entertaining to adults...I am reminded of the years I spent in Study Hall reading horse and dog books and I still cry when anything sad happens!! Grammy
A Great Start to a Great Series.......2007-08-16
Without giving too much away, let me say that The Sight is about Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight's kits, Jaypaw, Hollypaw, and Lionpaw and their incredible abilities from StarClan. Most other previously key characters fall back a bit to allow the three kits to take center stage. Don't believe what you hear when others say that Firestar is dead. He isn't. He's still leader of ThunderClan, it's just that he isn't the main character anymore.
This book is an excellent beginning to the series, although I dock a star for the cliche "dog attack" and "fox attack". However, Jaypaw's abilities are original and intriguing, Hollypaw is a lovable character, and Lionpaw seems to be getting a love interest in Heatherpaw of WindClan.
This is an excellent book for any Warriors enthusiast and can give any fanfiction writer the right sort of inspiration they need. If you haven't read this yet, do so!

Customer Reviews:
A wonderful way to learn a great lesson!.......2007-09-28
Mr. Pusskins is your typical aloof cat. He's like most people if you think of it...doesn't realize how good he has it and takes for granted the ones that love him. He does learn what happens when he gets too big for his britches, and falls in with the wrong crowd. He finally comes to the realization of how much he was loved and how great he had it. He lucks outs in that his owner, Emily, is determined to find him and does.
My granddaughter LOVED this books and so do I. It teaches a very valuable and age-old lesson: Appreciate what you have and be good to those who love you, not take them for granted. This is a lesson that alot of people still need to learn! This book does a wonderful job doing just that.
Fun illustrations and a story with a moral.......2007-09-10
My family loved the tale of Mr Pusskins. The interesting illustrations held the attention of the 5 year old. The 3 year old thought the story was too long. Mr. Pusskin's appearance and attitude is similar to that of our persian cat; therefore, we could relate to the story. The theme is classic: the grass is always greener on the other side, but you'd be better off to appreciate what you have.
fun prodigal cat story.......2007-07-26
My four year old son liked this book so much when we checked it out of the library that we decided to buy our own copy. It's a fun story about a rebellious cat that runs away and then realizes how good he had it before so he calls up his owner (a little girl) and she takes him back.
Awesome book!.......2007-05-11
I heard this book read on NPR and thought it was cute. When we got it my daughter (7mos)loved it! It is one of her favorite books and we read it every night.
Wonderful, absolutely wonderful........2007-05-06
You can't help but fall in love with Mr. Pusskins. It's a lesson in love, and delivered with such humour as we watch him barely tolerating all the love and affection gleefully bestowed upon him by his owner Emily, who is a little girl. Mr. P is rather curmudgeonly and he sets out on his own. After initially enjoying his freedom, he finds that he didn't appreciate Emily, that life isn't very pleasant without her, and how lucky he had been to have her. Did Emily miss him? Would he find her? Would she take him back??? The suspenseful ending made me laugh and cry at the same time. (There are mountains in England and Emily knows how to drive a car.)
The drawings are wonderful. Mr. Pusskins' expression, as you can tell by the cover, is perfectly drawn.
As they said on NPR, it's a classic "cat loses girl, cat gets girl" story.

Book Description
Soon after the cats reached their new home by the lake, ThunderClan's medicine cat Leafpool received an ominous warning from StarClan: Before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red. As the Clan slowly recovers from a devastating badger attack, Leafpool can't help but wonder . . . do her prophetic dreams mean there are even worse dangers still in store for the warrior cats?
At the same time, shadows of the past continue to haunt the forest as some old friends struggle to find their place, others appear to be lost forever, and an old enemy finds a new way to resurface in a quest for dark revenge. A sinister path is unfolding, and the time is coming for certain warriors to make the choices that will determine their destiny . . . and the destiny of all the Clans.
Customer Reviews:
Great book.......2007-09-16
My daughter is 12 and loved this book. She is hooked on the whole series.
Sunset:: Great Summer Reading.......2007-08-23
Sunset was a great book. It was a lot different from the other books, with very little fighting and twists. It's slower paced, making this great summer reading. A lot of it is about life in the Clans more then battling some higher evil. It's very good, and the plot isn't so in-your-face big. It's the bunch of different plots that are the undertone of the book that make this so very good. Plus, to keep us action-lovers happy, there is a great twisted-minds type plot, and the outcome will have you reading it over and over just to have it sink it. Hope you like it! A great ending to the prophecy.
Excellent doesn't even say it all!.......2007-06-26
I fell in love with ALL of the warrior books from the very beginning and each of them has been (in my opinion) five star books. This one met my expectations all the way! I must say that I thought Erin Hunter summed up the series quite well and left me waiting to read "The Sight".
The four clans: ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and ShadowClan have made their journey to their new home for some time now and many things are starting to unfold in slow motion. Leafpool, the ThunderClan medicine cat has been having visions and they say:
"Before there is peace,
blood will spill blood,
and the lake will run red..."
Leafpool is still not sure what it means but all in all she's got a bad feeling about what's going to happen. Mothwing, a medicine cat that doesn't believe in the great StarClan has a new apprentice...but how will she teach him if she doesn't believe in StarClan?
As dangers unfold Leafpool See's BrambleClaw and his half brother Hawkfrost. They're talking to their dead, murderous father, Tigerstar...
I hope that you read this book and enjoy it as much as I have!
Sunset : Why It Summed Up 'The New Prohecy' Well.......2007-06-16
Sunset was a good book, with all due respect. Of course, there were some aspects that left many more questions then answers, but the reading was fun none the less.
I especially liked the (!SPOILERS!) big fight scene at the end of the book between Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw. It was a good twist to have Firestar being trapped in a fox trap. You always assume that he'll be okay, as (ususally) all main characters live. But, since the writers kill off so many characters and it has been decreed that Brambleclaw has a set death date in The Power of Three, who knows what will happen? It was a huge relief when Brambleclaw killed Hawkfrost, as I have been waiting for that day for a long time. Leafpool's prohecy has been fulfilled: "Before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red." Your brain does tend to toil endlessly, thinking about what the prohecy means while waiting for this book to come out. Thankfully, but friend Darkfur and I figured out the case of 'blood relative' spilled the blood of another 'blood relative'. It was a very good prohecy that you do need to think about in order to know, unlike the original serie's prohecy, "Fire alone will save our Clan." That was very predictable...
The traitor that Hawkfrost's spirit mentions after the fight is also unclear. Many believe that the traitor is Ashfur. It is true that Ashfur was acting like acid towards Brambleclaw for 'stealing' Squirrelflight away, and it is also a fact that Birchpaw, Ashfur's apprentice, was the one carrying the false message to Firestar that would lure him down to the lake. And Ashfur was also the one to tell Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight that Hawkfrost had Firestar in a trap, perhaps to bring Brambleclaw to the lake. Perhaps Hawkfrost told Ashfur that he could get Brambleclaw down to the lake, it would look like he killed Firestar and Brambleclaw would be exiled, which of course was not the case. I don't think that it is Ashfur, because in The Sight, he shows no hostility towards Brambleclaw. He's even the first to cheer when Brambleclaw stays deputy when Graystripe returns.
That brings me to Graystripe. I personally thought that Graystripe should have returned in Sunset, but it probably was for the best when he returned in The Sight. It was a bold decision when Firestar appointed Brambleclaw deputy, even though he had no apprentice.
Brambleclaw was very annoying in Sunset. He continues to trust his evil father while pushing Squirrelflight away from him. He only realizes their evil at the last second, before it's too late.
It was good that Crowfeather and Leafpool didn't run off again in this volume, as that would have made me burn the book in frustation. Crowfeather and Leafpool are both idiots for liking each other! They break the warrior code like...what is it, seven times!? It's too frustating.
All in all, this book was a very good addition to the works of Vicky Holmes, Cherith Baldry, and Kate Cary. You HAVE to read it, as it has many twists and turns along the path. If Brambleclaw wasn't such an idiot and Leafpool not so moody, I think that it would be a perfect book. However, that is not the case. Sunset deserves an "A-" grade and 4 stars. Read it if you love Warriors!
Sincerely,
~Dapplewing~
My opinion.......2007-06-01
I like this book. Although it does leave a question unanswered at the end, the prophecy, "Before there is peace,(or, before all is peacful) blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red," was answered. Maybe the unanswered question will be answered in the Power Of Three, the new series. Though, I don't think it was answered in the first book of Power Of Three, The Sight. Well, other than that, this book was pretty good in my opinion. But you probably should read the other Warriors: The New Prophecy books first.
I hope I helped you in this review and didn't spoil the book for you.
If you want me to ask questions to get you wondering what happens, here,
P.S. before you read this, you might want to read the other books or it might ruin the surprise.
~ (1)How is the prophecy fulfilled ( I hope I spelled that right )
~ (2)What happens when Brook and Stormfur come back?

soooooo funny and fun!.......2007-09-10
I have two other skippyjon jones books, and this one doesn't disappoint! My daughter just turned 3 a month ago, and she absolutely loves these books! Sure she doesn't get the humor the way we adults do, but she finds it just as funny and enjoyable in her own way nonetheless. We sometimes read these every day, if not every other, and find that we miss them if we don't. The illustrations are just as good as the writing too! I highly recommend these, you will laugh your head off every time!

My [....] and I have so much fun reading the Skippyjon books. Mummy Trouble is our third. We also have the original Skippyjon Jones and Skippyjon Jones In the Dog House. The CD is a bonus - sometimes my son likes to pop in the CD and listen to the author read the story while he follows along in the book.
We love Skippyjon Jones!.......2007-06-10
Absolutely love this series! Kids cheered when they saw we had a new book and ask that we read them more often than most others. My three year old runs around saying "mummies, mumples and measles" as fast as he can. Hope Ms. Schachner writes many more.
Not as good as her first two Skippy's.......2007-05-12
I loved the first two Skippy books, as did my 6 and 3 yr olds. But, this one talks about mummies and pyramids of which they are not yet knowledgable. I hope her next book goes back to a story the little ones can love once again. This one is not requested reading, like the first two.

This book is amazng, with stories from cats all over the forest, including the healer from Tribe of Rushing Water, Bluestar, and Crowfeather. also has amazing lists of fighting moves and herbs! you will love it too!
Very Interesting, slighty lacking-.......2007-09-10
This is a very good book in the sense that many unexplained plot twists and signifigant events are mentioned in detail. It's also nice to have some of the secondary characters talking, however, some don't seem to be in the same "tense". The Clan's culture and rules are explained, which is useful for begginners to the series. However, don't read this unless you have finished book four of the New Prophecy (book ten in total). There are some spoilers for people who have not, which takes some of the begginner's interest out. My biggest complaint is a lack of a living/dead list. It can get very confusing, and that kind of thing could have easily fit into the "Starclan" section.
Still, this book is good for any Warriors fan, and anyone who might need a review of the basics as well.
I thought it was a dictionary... It wasn't!.......2007-08-25
when i got this I figured it was just going to be a boring a dictionary with words and terms of the warrior cats but, I WAS WRONG AMIGO! let all warriors fans rejoice! the book is worth more than the cost and you will turn to it for every little thing!

I LOVED this book! It tells you everything you need to know! A lot of stuff that I didn't realize I was confused about was explained, and now I feel totally comfortable with the books. I'm even noticing new things! It's so cool! It even teaches you about LionClan, TigerClan, and LeopardClan! This is a must read!

Before there is peace, blood will spill blood...
New territory brings new troubles for the fierce cats of the warrior Clans, who are still uncovering the secrets of their new home around the lake. Dangers they have never faced before are lurking in the twilight shadows, and former allies are acting strangely hostile.
As divisions between the Clans grow deeper, Firestar's daughters face troubling decisions. One is torn between loyalty to her calling and a forbidden love, while the other struggles with her best friend's betrayal and the surprising perils of the forest. The choices they make now could affect ThunderClan for generations to come . . . and with an unexpected enemy preparing to attack, their courage and strength will be needed more than ever if the Clan is to survive.
Customer Reviews:
Twilight : Why It Is Thrilling...Yet Annoying.......2007-07-03
Twilight was a good addition to the Warriors series. The action is pulsing, the tension is building, the mystery is pumping...what could go wrong? Oh, not too much...just a few little things that shouldn't be over looked.
The Clans are (!SPOILERS!) settling into their new lake home, but Leafpool's messages about 'Blood will spill blood and the lake will run red' are becoming very numerous...pretty annoying for her, I would imagine. But there are a number of things that I find annoying. One of my biggest pet peeves involves Leafpool as well. How could she possibly love Crowfeather? Why is Crowfeather such a darn playa? Why is Feathertail not mad? I think that the entire Crowfeather *hearts* Leafpool thing is very out of place in this book. I don't understand what they see in each other. I used to like Leafpool until she starts ignoring Cinderpelt and her Clan and eventually runs away with Crowfeather. Good ridiance...but NOOOO...she has to come back at the last minute and appear the hero. Crowfeather has always been clueless, but you just hate him after he loves Leafpool when his mate died only about a moon before!
What also annoys me is that Brambleclaw is so dumb! He can't see that his brother and his father (whom he already knows is evil and says that he hates ol' Tigerstar) are using him to gain control of the forest. He used to be one of my favorite characters, yet he is now very very dumb. He continues to unceremoniously push Squirrelflight away in his monstrosity that he calls his life.
Now for the good! The ending scene with the badgers was very well written and quite nerve racking and sad, like when Sootfur died such a proud death full of dedication to his Clan. The birth of Honeykit, Cinderkit, Poppykit and Molekit was a pleasant surprise, even though I hated the fact that Cinderpelt died. At least Cinderkit is the reincarnated form of her! As always, the battle sequences were top-notch and very well planned and thought out.
The introduction of Daisy and her kits was an added bonus. You can feel the rage building inside of you when Daisy tries to shimmy closer to Cloudtail, her mentor. Mousekit, Berrykit, and Hazelkit are great additions to the Clan and I'm happy they decided to stay and that Cloudtail and Brightheart mended their broken relationship.
You stay at the edge of your seat as each event unfolds and unfurls before you. The action is packed and there is hardly ever a dry moment, which adds to the wonders of this series. Some very odd things happen, such as Onestar acting hostile towards Firestar for unknown reasons, but everything goes back to normal at the end of the book. The big surprise appearance of Stormfur and Brook was an added surprise!
All in all, Twilight is a good book, even though there are some rough patches. I would give it 4 stars and an A- / A grade. Happy reading, but look out for the two-timing Crowfeather!
Sincerely,
~Dapplewing~
Warrior: Twilight.......2007-06-24
Squirrelflight and Leafpool, daughters of Firestar, the great ThunderClan leader cat, has some problems going on in their lives. Squirrelflight finds it hard that her best friend, Brambleclaw is betraying her so she concentrates on a friendship with another, better cat called Ashfur. Leafpool is in a stage called forbidden love. She's falling for a WindClan cat called Crowfeather when she knows that she can't. Leafpool's a medicine cat which means she heals cats with herbs and recieves signs from StarClan. Medicine cats do not fall in love and if they do, they broke the Warrior Code and sent to exile. Also, cats can not fall in love with another cat in another Clan. So that means Leafpool broke 2 warrior codes.
Now, Leafpool thinks that she's usless now. Her mentor has found a new cat who could do some jobs for her. Leafpool aruged with Squrrielflight and they never argue. Will Leafpool run away from home with Crowfeather so they can be together and live happily ever after and would Squrrielflight abadon Brambleclaw forever and go with Ashfur; so that their memory is nothing but history?
This book is really good with many twist and turns. It may also be really sad to some people.
Not as good as previous books but still read it!.......2007-06-08
I think this book was great but not that eventful. Leafpool runs away with Crowfeather and Cinderpelt dies. At the end of the book ThunderClan get attacked by badgers. Also at the end of the book Stormfur and Brook return! YAY! Anyway I think that Erin H. is a very good at clif hangers but the end kind of annoys me because now I HAVE to get the 6th book by this week to find out what happened to Stormfur and Brook. I love Graystripe (who doesn't?) and i have heard he is coming back! YAY!There is not much more to say except Leafpool isnt as nice as she used to be and Squrrilflight and Brambleclaw keep on treding "on each others tails". I have always thought that Brambleclaw was bad and i wont change my mind!I always will like the previous series more because I miss Rusty, Firepaw, Fireheart, Firestar because Erin H. doesnt talk about him that much anymore. My favorite characters are Graystripe,Stormfur, Feathertail, Ashfur, and, Silverstream! YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK!
My[..]LOVED this.......2007-05-17
These books have been incredible for [..]. This is the second series that he's read in the Warriors group by Erin Hunter. He uses the language that the cats in the book use, and he often comes to tell me about some exciting twist that has happened, or a new character that he's falling in love with. These have been great for his reading speed, he's reading much faster and with greater recall since starting these books a few months ago. I highly recommend them.
You can't skip this book in The New Prophecy!.......2007-05-17
In the books of The New Prophecy it expresses the thoughts of two cats (switching off) and this book contains the thoughts of Squierrelflight and of course Leafpool. In this book Squierrelflight and Brambleclaw start to trouble with their relationship concerning trust. Squierrelflight can't stand the thought that Brambleclaw can even think about his halfbrother Hawkfrost, she says there is something about him she just can't trust. While Leafpool is having trouble with her own admirrer Crowfeather from Windclan! That's right even though she is a medicine cat she can't ignore her love for him! Meanwhile all the medicine cats keep having terifying dreams of disaster, claws and darkness, while Leafpool has her on vision of claws, darkness and pain then it ends. What do all of these things mean? Meanwhile for some reason that Hunter never seemed to put in the book is that Windclan is hating Thunderclan and wants nothing to do with them, until the end of the book when they come to help Thunderclan in their time of HORROR! Something sad about this book is the cat who dies in the end. I'm not saying who it is, but is a cat who you have know a long time and will feel pain to see the end come to this cat's life. Read the Book for more! It's GR8!

Book Description
The Clans have finally arrived in their new home, and now they must struggle to establish territories and learn the hidden dangers of this unfamiliar world. Most importantly, they must find a replacement for the Moonstone—a place to communicate with StarClan. But more than one cat is harboring sinister plans that could lead to violence and darkness, and as the warriors wait for a sign, some of them begin to realize that the threats they face in the forest may not be as perilous as the threats they face from within. . . .

Starlight : Why It's A Worthy Read.......2007-08-21
As any fan of the Warriors series would agree, Starlight is action packed, mysterious, and heartfelt. Let's start with the list, shall we?
First The Good : Battles and Co.
Don't worry, my dear young kitty: Starlight isn't lacking in battles. Personally, I find the battles some of the best parts of this delightful series. The writing in these sequences is divinely scripted and very well used, without too many graphic words or rather gruesome mental images. Cherith Baldry and Kate Cary, the two wonder authors who (combined) are Erin Hunter, always give us wonders in the battles. From battles with kittypets to battles with rampaging badgers, this book has no shortage or fights!
Item Numero Dos : The Mysterious Element
The Clans are settling into their new home, all the while learning about what terrors there could be in the strange territories. What dangers hide behind every tree? Are the Twolegs are formidable threat...or not? Who will Tallstar appoint leader!? All of these mysterious subplots add to the story and give a certain 'what's-coming-next?' feel to Starlight, which was needed after the rather depressing plotline of Dawn. Of course, things always work out for the best, but not always in the way you expect!
Another Good Aspect : The Character Developement
Characters continue to grow in this volume of our beloved series. The two young daughters of Firestar each find (!SPOILERS!) affection, whilst Brambleclaw becomes tempted by Tigerstar, which ultimately tests his character (unfortunately, it is later known that he fails that test...man, he would be eaten ALIVE in a school!) Firestar tries to keep everything together as dangers and other surprises arise from the darkness to potientially harm his Clan. Other characters continue to be made stronger and are tested, such as little Birchkit as he begins to inch towards apprenticeship.
Now The Bad : Annoyances
This is pretty much the only thing wrong with Starlight. Why can't Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight get along? Why does Ashfur suddenly become a main character? Why are there so many dang badgers!? (Seriously, you'd think the Twolegs would do somethin' about that my NOW) These questions aren't answered, unfortunately, and some character's can be very annoying at times, *cough, cough* Brambleclaw vs. Squirrelflight *cough cough*. Of course, that's just another sign that the writing in these books is top notch!
All in all, Starlight is a very good book. Not the best Warriors book, but a good one and a whole lot less sad than Dawn. Read this book and you won't be disappointed. Starlight deserves an 'A' grade and 4 and 1/2 stars.
Sincerely,
~Dapplewing~
A good addition to the Warriors series.......2007-05-30
On a scale of 1-5 I would give this book a 3 because, although it was a very good book, it lacked some of the action found in other books of the series. Although it was much better than the first book, it wasn't the best that I have read so far in this series.
This book is about a group of cats that live in the forest in clans but have been forced to leave their home by humans who were building a road (the cats call roads "thunderpaths") through their territory. In this book the author tells about how the cats are struggling to set up new boundaries and settle into their new home as well as trying to forget the new friendships the cats have made with other clans on the long journey to their new home (the clan cats don't usually make friends with other clans).
I think you should definitely read this book because, although it lacks a lot of action, it is an interesting read and helps the other books in the series make more sense if you are planning to read them.

Starlight, 4th in the series.......2007-05-10
To truly enjoy this book, you should read the WHOLE series including the volumes of the first series. (See other books by Erin Hunter)
If you enjoy books written from the perspective of the animal, there is no doubt you will enjoy this book and all the books that came before and the books that are coming. I know these books are written for the young reader but adults can enjoy reading them, also. After I read them I give them to my grandchildren.

Customer Reviews:
Too Short.......2007-09-29
Well, as usual, this book was written masterfully, and I would expect nothing less from the Erin Hunters. The artistry was amazing, but it was just too short. I finished it in under half an hour, which is just not like any of the other books. All in al, though, this book was pretty good.
comic book style .......2007-09-26
My two boys (ages 11 and 8) LOVE the Warriors series. However, this particular book is written in comic book style and they read it in less than an hour. They liked it, but it wasn't what we expected.
Warriors Manga?.......2007-08-23
I tell you, this was interesting. It was very good though. Graystripe was one of my favorite characters, and I was so disappointed when he left. I'm glad they're addressing that. I'm not sure about the manga, which makes the cats look odd. But I guess since I'm not much of a artist myself I can't say anything. This isn't a must-read, but it's quick, easy, and fast-paced.
The Lost Warrior: Graystripe In Twolegplace .......2007-08-01
As anyone who's read Dawn knows, Graystripe was captured by Twolegs when rescuing cats from their traps. This manga follows his adventure in Twolegplace and his desperate attempts to escape...and what happens when he meets Millie, a kittypet in the same Twolegplace.
The Lost Warrior is good...just not spectacular. They could have made the story a lot longer and made a better, more detailed manga.
Now for the storyline. It's good. But... a little boring. And short. Graystripe wants to get out of Twolegplace but seems to have given up hope. He's seemingly lost all his warrior instincts, and after (spoilers begin here) losing a fight with a kittypet, Graystripe begins to believe he'll never get out of there.
Then he meets Millie, another kittypet. Fascinated by the forest life, she wants to be taught how to fight and hunt, and Graystripe meets her demands. Slowly, his warrior instincts begin to return, though Graystripe still has little hope. Eventually Silverstream convinces Graystripe to look for the Clans, and he goes, though he meets obstacles along the way. (spoilers end here)
So it's good. But not totally awesome, and the plot could have been expanded a lot more. I HAVE flipped through it again and still enjoyed it, but don't expect the most amazing book in the world...it pales much in comparison to the regular Warriors.
So this book is worth buying, just don't walk into the bookstore expecting the best manga there is to read. If you do, you may be a bit disappointed.
bought this for a niece..........2007-07-25
I bought this for a niece ( 9yrs ) and she loved it, of course she had already read every other book in this series and loved all of those as well.

very good.......2007-09-30
this book was a very good read. i would highly reccomend the series to any cat lover. you should always read the books in order, and NEVER read the backs or the character lists of a book ahead of you!!!! I found out something that you will find out in book #6 when I was reading book #4. it kind of ruined book #5 in a way. This book is definately good
Good to the last page and beyond.......2007-08-26
As will all the Warrior series, I loved this book as well. It is leading up to the big finale of the 6th book and many dangers face the cats in this book. As usual, it kept me up at night reading to find out what would happen next and how the cats would ever get out of each new situation they found themselves in. A great read as always. Can't get enough of the Warrior books. Love each and every one of them and you don't have to be a "kit" to enjoy them. I am 48 and look forward to the next book whenever I finish one.
Warriors: A Dangerous Path.......2007-06-06
Fireheart is leading his clan through the dark times. He used to be a kittypet and others still tease him. It's hard for him to be a deputy when his leader is going crazy. It's also hard for him to believe other cats sometimes, but he will have to in order to save his from an evil Shadow clan leader.
I would recommend this book because it's very exciting. Sometimes it's sad, sometimes it's happy, and sometimes it's a little bit scary. This is a great book for anyone who loves animals, especially cats.
Dog Pack Escapes.......2007-06-06
In this amazing book of the series Warriors, Fireheart finds out that Tigerclaw, the former deputy of Thunderclan that tried to kill Bluestar, became leader of Shadowclan and got his new name (Tigerstar) and nine lives from Starclan. Thunderclan's leader, Bluestar, is still dealling with the fact that Tigerstar betray her. When Fireheart learns of a dog pack on the loose, Bluestar thinks that they are just strays and will go back to their home soon. When Fireheart finds out that all this connects to Tigerstar, he relizes that he will have to save the Clan. But will it be to late to save his own leader? I recomend this book to kids that love books full of suspence and adventure.
A Great Book from a Great Series.......2007-01-08
A Dangerous Path by Erin Hunter is the fifth book in the original Warriors series. The main character, Fireheart, Thunderclan deputy, is at head of the Thunderclan cats at a Gathering when he finds out that the new Shadowclan leader is his enemy, Tigerclaw or Tigerstar now, the former Thunderclan deputy. When it is reported back to Bluestar, Thunderclan leader, that the cat who had earlier tried to kill her, was now a clan leader, her already troubled mind worsened as she declared war with the cat's ancestors, Starclan, and she believes the cats in Thunderclan are going to betray her. So Fireheart is trying his best to hide Bluestar's condition from the rest of the clan. But on top of all of this, Fireheart gets warnings from Starclan about a 'pack' that threatens the lives of Thunderclan.
I enjoyed this book because of my love for cats, but it was also frustrating and sad at times. Erin Hunter did a good job describing the events in the book. I got really frustrated with Bluestar when she thought she was at war with Starclan. But I could kind of see how she could read events that happened to her and her clan and how they could make her think that they meant that her ancestors where abandoning her. I do not see how she thought that her cats were traitors, especially Fireheart; he was the one who saved her from Tigerstar when he tried to kill her. Because she thought the Thuderclan cats would betray her, some very sad events took place. The end is sad as well but not all was bad.
I recommend this book, and all of the other Warriors books.

Book Description
Move over, Eloise and Olivia. Make room for SkippyjonJones, a Siamese kittenboy who can't resign himself to being an ordinary cat. Having a time-out in his room, he resorts to his imagination. Taking on the superhero persona of the great Spanish sword fighter Skippito, he has the adventure of his life, and readers are invited along. Zany, wild, and over-the-top, this utterly original book truly begs to be read aloud.
With the jiggly, effervescent outlines she used in I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie, the smudgy, tender expressiveness of The Grannyman, and a text worthy of a sitcom, Judith Byron Schachner has created a new cat character for all ages. ¡Olé!

Great!.......2007-09-26
I first purchased this book for my nephew. I read it and kept it for myself! I have now purchased 5 more copies for my nieces, nephews and my mother! This book is so much fun children and adults who still remember what it's like to be a child will enjoy it!
Fun Book to Read Outloud.......2007-09-24
My daughter had to have this book last year after hearing it read at school. I don't know who loves it more! The first time I read it without her and couldn't stop laughing. This is a MUST have book.
Cute!.......2007-09-06
What a cute book! My daughter (3) loves it. She read it in camp and spoke about it non-stop so we ordered it to see exactly who is SKippyjon Jones. Skippyjon Jones is a funny cat who fantasizes he is a dog in Mexico. Its a very fun book- My husband and I dont quite 'get it' but my daughter certainly does and that is great! She cant stop laughing when we read this one. This for sure promotes preschoolers love for books.
From the perspective of a teacher.......2007-08-18
I purchased a copy of Skippy Jon Jones last year for my first grade class and they loved it! It was an instant hit with the entire class. This book contains some Spanish phrases and my Spanish speaking students enjoyed hearing words easily recognizable to them. My class talked me into purchasing the next two Skippy Jon Jones books and I look forward to more. This book, with its whimsical humor appeals to the "child" in all of us.
We've read it every night since we got it!.......2007-08-06
I love reading this book as much as my daughter loves hearing it.
It has a wonderful rhythmic cadence to it. The rhyme is structured and unstructured at the same time, and it's terrific fun!
The story is a wonderful tale about how a child's imagination can just take over their life, and they can live their fantastic story.
You will find yourself actually singing the songs, and seeing how fast you can say El Blimpo Bumbelito Bandito.
I love reading this book so much that I'm tempted to offer story time at my daughter's school. It's that good.
