Sorry, Rachel..........2007-09-18
I bought this book with great anticipation; however, after making several recipes, I am very dissapointed. Many dishes I've tried have absolutely NO FLAVOR at all. If you like dinners from the 1950's, you may like this; but for experienced cooks with sophisticated palates, this is not worth buying. The fact that there are 170 of these used books for sale should tell you something.
Yum-o.......2007-08-25
I liked the listing of recipes so it was easy to choose what to make without flipping through the entire cookbook. Lots of easy recipes for chicken. When you have normal ingredients, you can still make something taste spetacular.
Nothing I would eat!.......2007-08-24
I didn't like this book. It wasn't very clear. My family would NEVER eat any of the recipes. I was looking for a well-rounded list of recipes, (like joy of cooking) but found this was too "kid friendly" and unhealthy. I returned the book.
30 Minute Meals.......2007-08-12
I was somewhat disappointed. There is a lot more time to get the meal together than I expected.Otherwise it is well written and organized.
It's just ok........2007-08-07
I did make some kind of turkey burgers with butter and tobasco sauce...I think they were buffalo turkey burgers...don't have the book in front of me...and they were quite good. It had a blue cheese sauce, YUM-O! (To quote Ms. Ray). She finished off the patties in the sauce...
I made a variation...I take the buns and soak them for a few seconds in the butter/tobasco sauce and grill them...it's the only way my picky son wants his burgers now! So, the girl is inventive...it's just not my first pick for a cookbook at supper time. Know what I mean?

365 Greek Word Studies for every day of the year to sharpen your understanding of God's Word.
Customer Reviews:
A Gem of a Book.......2007-10-01
This book is for anyone who thirst for more knowledge of the Word of God. It is incredible. Our western minds cant begin to comprehend many of the true intent of the scriptures.
This book opens your mind to the appropriate interpretation of so many scriptures. It makes God's word come ALIVE.
Fascinating Insights.......2007-09-28
Sparkling Gems provides fascinating insight into the deeper definitions of original Greek words; definitions that have too often fallen short with so many of the current simple Biblical translations. Renner brings the Word alive through these living-color, three-dimensional daily word studies. I use it as a daily devotional, appreciating the 2-3page length of each study (as opposed to brief paragraph or one-page dailies.) This book really is a "gem" for me.
remarkable.......2007-09-18
This book gives the reader great insight and dept what a ordinary reader misses when reading the New Tesrtament. I would reccommend it to any serious reasder of the New Testament. bill knibbe
This is an amazing book........2007-09-08
I so much appreciate this book. Using this as my daily devotional, along with my Bible reading, really brightens up the day. Really great incitful thoughts in every passage.

OK.......2007-04-21
does not give the current information. I have to figure out points myself, Yuck
Great WW Recipes.......2006-04-09
If you're a fan of WW, you should love this book. It was written before any of the POINTS systems, so you have to do some calculations on your own. The nutrition info is provided for each recipe. This book is an especially good value because as another reviewer noted, for each main recipe, you get additional recipes provide a day's worth of meals.
I give this book four stars because I've always had to doctor my WW recipes. They tend to be on the bland side for me, but they are always good starting points. I also enjoy light cookbooks that provide tips for cutting fat and calories and this book does not. It's just recipes.
Not the book for my family.......2005-03-06
Way too many of the recipes in this book have ingredients I have never heard of! Also, the ingredient lists are often very long. I am donating my copy to the public library and will use "The Moms' Guide to Meal Makeovers" and "Quick Meals for Healthy Kids and Busy Parents" to help me provide sensible meals for my family.
Great book but..........2003-12-18
I just recieved this the other day and have yet to make any recipes from this cookbook. But I have now tried several of the WW cookbooks and they always have great recipes, so there is no doubt that I will find some more healthy ones in this book.
I love how each page has a main recipe on it and then they have built a whole day of eating around that one recipe. Sometimes, there are smaller typed recipes in the daily menu area on each page. For example, on one page, the main recipe is for Grilled Chicken Caesar salad. Then to the right of the recipe, they have built a whole day of meals around this recipe. They have suggested what to eat for breakfast (banana and cereal), a light meal (beans and franks, carrot/celery sticks, whole wheat roll, yogurt), the main meal (which includes the Chicken caesar salad, creamy brocolli soup--provides the recipe, a peach and Italian bread) and an evening snack (3 cups of plain popcorn).
This is perfect for someone who needs to follow a strict menu to stay on track. Not everyone has the self discipline to make their own healthy menus and stay within the WW guidelines, so this would work well for those people. And each recipe/daily menu is different so you don't have to worry about being bored and eating the same things over and over.
The only real complaints I have about this book is that it is outdated compared to the newer WW cookbooks. It doesn't have any of the point values in the book, so you need to use the WW calculator to figure the point values out for each recipe. And the other complaint that I have is the book does have a few pictures in it, but most of the pictures are very unappetizing. They look like they just threw the recipe together and didn't worry about presentation. The more recent WW cookbooks make the pictures look very yummy, unlike this one.
Also, we all know that not everyone can eat the same amount of calories and continue to lose weight, so its unclear as to who this cookbook is geared towards. Someone who needs to be eating 1600 calories and actively losing weight still or someone who is maintaining their goal weight and need to eat around 1200 calories per day.
This cookbook looks like its worth a try, even just for the recipes and not the daily menus. But it't not as nice as the newer cookbooks that WW has put out in the last few years.
Doesn't Taste Like Diet Food!!!.......2002-03-11
This cookbook is the best I've ever tried! I had a pretty good selection of cookbooks before buying this one so I didn't really think a 'healthy cookbook' would be able to compare... but the recipes are really great! There's a large selection of tastes for simple to complex meals.
Plus for each day/page the book does not just give you one recipe. You'll be given a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Side dish ideas and drink ideas that will go good with your main dish are suggested! It's deffinatly a unique and helpful cookbook. You'll love it!

Customer Reviews:
Sexy and in good taste.......2007-08-16
We found some of the position a litle boring, but several made it worth purchasing the book. The positions are drawn and not photos, which is something we were wanting. Worth adding to your library.
great sex only if your're new to it.......2007-07-25
the positions n this book are very basic. this book is entertaining if you're really bored or if you are new to love-making. otherwise, it's corny and i read it to laugh.
Great Book.......2007-07-18
I enjoy the pictures and explanations of each position. My husband and I will enjoy all 365 positions if we can flex that much, lol.
repetitive.......2007-07-09
At first, this seemed like the perfect book to add new positions to our sex life, which needed spicing up. It did help give us some ideas, but soon, we realized that so many of the positions listed are repetitive, often one position is used 4 or 5 times, with such slight variations (such as, one on the bed, one on the ottoman, one with legs slightly raised.) Many of the positions aren't even positions! Some merely suggest you play with shoes or scarves or chocolate on a certain day. Also, the writing is so incredibly horrible to read. It's not only not informative, but merely each description is a rambling of constant "puns" about the title of each position. For example, one called "Laying Down the Law," tells you to point your loaded gun at her and pat her head to toe searching for weapons. If you're thinking about a book of sex positions, please keep looking elsewhere!
Good .......2007-05-22
This book is excellent, my husband LOVES, LOVES, I mean LOVES the book he wants to try all the position every day. I would recommend it to anyone.

LOVE this book.......2007-09-26
This book was a sanity saver for a mom with 3 year old twins. How neat to have a resource to turn to on rainy days, snowed in days or days when things are going chaotic. This book is full of all kinds of activities and suggestions on how to occupy your little ones. I love it!! The activities are so easy to do and they are so creative. There are recipes, games and instructions to make homemade toys. These are just a few of the many materials covered. I recommend this book for anyone who has young children!
Fabulous Idea Book.......2007-06-11
I bought this book for my husband and I to come up with simple activities for our 3 1/2 year old. We have tried several activities and my daughter loves them. They are simple, use common, everyday household stuff and are inexpensive to do. It is a great basic activity book.

Three Silly Chicks Review.......2007-10-02
Reviewed by Three Silly Chicks - Readers, Writers, and Reviewers of funny books for kids.
It's hard not to love penguins. They are such spiffy dressers and great tap dancers. (This was actually documented in a recent motion picture!) Imagine how exciting it would be to receive a penguin in a box on New Year's Day with only a simple note to explain, "I'm number 1. Feed me when I'm hungry." Now imagine the surprise and joy of receiving another penguin the next morning. And the next and the next and the next . . .
For a full year, the family in this funny picture book receives a penguin a day and problems multiply as their flock grows. Dad becomes obsessed with organizing the penguins. Mom gets more than a little crazed and the kids just go with the flow. Or is that floe?
Simple graphic-arts style illustrations in a limited palette and a large trim size for this book make it great for young kids who will get a kick out of counting the very silly penguins and finding the one with blue feet who shows up on day 144. (Visualize a penguin-Waldo who eats fish.) Older kids and parents will enjoy the family's reaction to the penguins as the year progresses and they are so horribly outnumbered. A bit of math and ecology play into the tale, but never overload the story in this delightful book. Makes you want to put on a tux and dance like a penguin!
A zany counting story of too many penguins evolves........2007-09-07
Jean-Luc Fromenthal and Joelle Jolivet's 365 PENGUINS is an oversized presentation which could make for a shelving challenge for some holdings, but which provides a fun account of a mailman's surprise delivery of a penguin a day. Who is sending all these penguins - and why? A zany counting story of too many penguins evolves.
Great fun for young kids........2007-09-03
My boys ages 6 and 7 love this book. The illustrations are wonderful, and the story is fun! I like that it covers math concepts of addition, multiplication, etc. For example, 100 penguins plus one more makes 101. Stacking penguins 6 by 6 by 6 in a cube makes ... filing them in 12 boxes of 12 makes ... Some if the math is way too advanced for my children, but I doubt kids much older would be terribly interested in the writing or illustrations. Although some of the math is advanced, my children nevertheless enjoy the book, and I think that exposing them to these math concepts is great!!! We also love looking for the penguin named Chilly in each scene. There is a global warning lecture on one of the last pages, which sounds very preachy and doesn't fit into the rhythm or tone of the story, but I don't mind the message, so it doesn't bother me. This is a good book for kids ages 5 - 9.
Fun for All.......2007-08-28
This book is entertaining for penguin lovers of all ages. The penguins' eyes are a "hoot".
Penguins Penguins Everywhere.......2007-07-01
When I was a kid, I was interested in all things penguin. That really hasn't changed. Now that I have a daughter of my own, I decorated her room with a penguin theme. All the stuffed penguins and other penguin bric-a-brac I collected seems to be more appropriate there now. But there's always new penguin stuff coming along. To wit, Jean-Luc Fromental and Joelle Jolivet's 365 Penguins.
The story is one to make penguin-lovers wild with joy (or jealousy of this fictional family): every day for a year, a penguin is delivered to their house until they are left with 365 penguins on New Year's Eve. As the year progresses and the penguin population grows, the family has to figure our how to feed, house and entertain their uninvited guests using some subtle math interventions.
All in all, this oversize book in (mainly) black, white, orange and blue is a lot of fun. The story is entertaining and the art is simple but beautiful. Not to be missed; particularly, for the penguin-lover.

Spend a year reading the Bible with Max Lucado! In this Bible, Max Lucado will guide you through the Scripture day-by-day, with daily readings from the Old and New Testaments, Psalms, and Proverbs, plus a devotional insight.
Customer Reviews:
Great Book.......2007-08-23
This book is a must reads for everday of your life. It is almost impossible to have a guideline for everyday of your life, but this book helps to guide you to more structure and stability. It is a must if you want to have peace everyday. Great.
The Grace for the Moment Daily Bible.......2007-07-21
Max Lucado is always wonderfully inspiring and brings out things in the bible in a way that I never really thought about before. He reinforces a point by the old testament first and then the new testament. I do wish the print were larger as it would be easier on the eyes.
Grace for the Moment Daily Bible.......2007-05-26
When ordering this Bible I was looking for something that would give me encouragement and get me closer to my goal of reading the entire Bible--something I have yet to do in all the years of having accepted Christ as my Saviour and attending church. This Bible has truly filled the bill. Not only are there comforting and encouraging devotions from one of the best writers I have ever had the pleasure of reading but God's word is divided up into daily segments that can easily be read in the morning before rushing off to the rat race of life. I highly recommend this Bible to one and all.
A Refreshing Experience.......2007-02-01
Every year I choose a new bible to read thru the year. In 2007, I choose this one. What a refreshing experience I have, a few sentance from Max, OT + Psalm and Proverbs + NT, just the right mix. And the translation, New Century version is a version that easy to understand even English is my second language. If you find diffcult to keep up with your one year plan to read the bible once, this one worth the try.
Grace for the Moment Daily Bible.......2007-01-10
I am using the book as my daily devotion this year. What I have read so far is very easy to understand. I like the translation used because it is written so beginning Bible students will not be confused.

Thoughtful daily gems, if you are willing to think a little........2007-02-16
This is a lovely book, with breathtaking photos that accompany equally powerful daily written words of "wisdom." The book is great as a gift for a special person because it is smart, priced well, and very pretty, but it functions on a more meaningful level for those ready to receive its message. Personally, I think the writings are strong selections of some of the best ideas of the humanities, and I find the book inspiring each and every day.
Another daily treasure!.......2007-02-16
My wife and I have a special time each day where we sit together and read to each from our library of inspiration literature. We have two of the Follmi's books, this one, Wisdom, and Offerings. Our inspirational and meditative reading time is not complete until we read the passages for the day from each of these books. I especiall like their selections and the references to the photographs which are exquisitly beautiful. The Follmi's books will nourish your heart, mind, and soul.
Wisdom.......2006-07-10
A beautiful book that is inspirational in both its pictures and pearls of wisdom.
as wise as it is beautiful.......2006-03-04
The authors have chosen the quotations well and matched them with beautiful pictures. I am an American and have lived in India for over 22 years in an ashram. Many attempts to capture the spirit of India, especially by foreigners, seem to ring false, but this one combines a range of moods in the pictures and a range of depth in the written selections. It is a joy to read every day.
sheer wisdom.......2006-01-31
absolutely breathtaking pictures which capture the very essence of india and convey incredible peace. the thoughts are just what we need everyday to remind us of the "big picture" and look around, above and beyond ourselves to get a little wiser...

365 Tao Daily Meditations.......2007-08-31
There is a problem concerning the age of the edition. The book advertized is not the book shipped.
Customer service was not able to correct the problem. Apparently the ISBN number is
the same but the book received is from a 1992 printing. The book advertized was printed around 2002.
The book is excellent. The translation of Tao is very easy to understand.
Superb introduction to the Tao.......2007-01-04
This small book has a commentary on Tao for each day of the year, an guide to application to life. It avoids both abstruse explanation and sermonizing, merely suggesting guides along the Way. Highly recommended as a means to understanding just what Tao is about, but, of course, never trying to define it. A worthy addition to my shelf of handy books.
A must-buy!.......2006-04-03
I've only read the first 49 so far (about 1/7th the total) and I'm blown away. My original thought was to read one at a time, reflect on it and then move on. I do that but all are so good I keep reading. The format makes it easy to read a little here and there and each page is both accessible and profound. Just buy it.
Balance.......2006-01-16
This is the best daily source of balance I have found. It is a ready dip into sanity and a constant reminder that there is a still point to which one might repair from time to time.
Wonderfully done.......2006-01-09
Wonderful daily meditation book.

Customer Reviews:
The Most Important "Coffee Table" Book You'll Ever Own.......2007-09-30
This book is more than just a collection of breathtaking aerial shots of the global community in which we live -- it's an informative and often damning look at the world that we have created, and how our lives make it what it is. The book does not pull any punches, and often as we gaze at the sheer beauty (both man-made and natural) of this planet, we are slapped in the face with the facts of life. It's a picture book that seems to be telling us, "Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but here are a few that you may not have noticed."
Don't just buy this book for yourself, buy it for every person that may come into your home, pick it up, and look at just a few pages. You will help each of them understand the complexities and dilemmas of our modern lives.
Earth From Above.......2007-05-30
I still haven't read it all, as there's 365 days, but what I have seen I am impressed with. It's not just the pictures but the background information that accompanies it It's like a mini history/geography lesson, but fun!
Political overtones.......2007-05-12
Many of the pictures were nice. A little disappointed in the choice of some of the pictures that were used. The written narration is very environment, global warming, & politically biased. I purchased several as a coffee table gift idea. I won't buy any more of this particular book unless I am certain the person I'm giving it to has liberal values.
