For those who love hardbacks.......2007-08-31
Most of us who have read and enjoyed the Hitchhikers books (I won't say trilogy) have reached a point in life where getting by on 30 Altarian dollars a day and reading paperbacks has lost some of its charm. I'm in the process of cleaning up my bookshelves by replacing all the battered paperbacks of my youth with real books. I saw this omnibus edition and thought it was the perfect thing. One book with a pleasant appearance to displace a large number of ratty paperbacks. I almost didn't buy it because the price seemed to low. I thought it would sit pleasantly on my bookshelf until I was in the right mood, but I found myself diving right in and enjoying things I remembered and remembering things I forgot. The quality is much higher than I expected. The binding is very solid and the pages supple. I consider this one of my best book purchases of the year.
Great Quality Book.......2007-08-08
For the price, this book is incredible. It's a nice leatherbound copy, and shipping and everything was extremely quick. Couldn't be happier.
Incoherent is the best!.......2007-07-31
This book was introduced to me by one of the craziest persons I will ever meet in my life: My good canadian friend Amber. Once I read the first page, I was hooked. It's so incoherent, it makes you see your life in another perspective, plus the new vocabulary it uses makes you want to review your dictionary! If you have an open mind, read this whole book. Only one isn't enough (this book has 4 stories and one novel). Amazing, just amazing
Excellent!.......2007-07-25
I've always been meaning to read the Hitchhiker series, and now I have it all in one book, and get to look suave and sophisticated reading it with the impressive binding and annoying little ribbon bookmark!
Plus, it came in good condition and time, so I needed waste no time both diving into the amusing stories and flaunting about it's shiney cover n' pages.
From Far Left, and a slight bit to the right . . ........2007-07-24
Written with unique intellectual talent, unexpressed humility, and an uncanny method of tripping-up readers with a seemigly impossible use of English Language. Read on . . . read on . . . 4#! (ticker-tape readout available upon request.)

Gorgeous book.......2007-09-19
I bought this book for a good friend and she went bonkers when she saw it. I did too when I opened the box the day it came in the mail. I wanted to keep it for myself! The cover is beautiful, the pages are gold edged, and it is just a wonderful book!
Jane Austen: The Complete Novels, Deluxe Edition.......2007-09-03
For all those Jane Austen fans, what more could you ask for than to have all the works of Jane Austen beautifully bound in one book. This is a book that you can pass down to your Grandchildren. A great display piece for your bookshelf also. I will enjoy this for years to come, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg which was another great surprise.
Jane Austen: The Complete Novels, Deluxe Edition (Library of Literary Classics).......2007-07-29
Wow! This is an unbelievably beautiful bound collection. It's almost too beautiful to use. It's an excellent price for the quality of the product. Imagine to cost of each book. I am looking forward to purchasing other collections of my favorite authors if the presentation is the same. Extremely fast delivery. Well worth It.
Too many errors..........2007-05-30
This is a lovely volume of Jane Austen's work and I would've given it 5 stars if there were less typographical errors dotted throughout the entire book.
pure genius.......2007-01-05
I personally love all of Austen's works so when I saw that they were all compiled together in this book and at such a great price I could not let the opportunity slip away. My personal favorite novel is Pride and Prejudice which along with Sense and Sensibility and Emma are some of her most famous works having been made into movies as well. However nothing is better than the novels themselves. As a young woman I cant say I can exactly relate to the characters in Austen's novels but I feel a connection with them because I am a young woman. Her novels depict a glimpse into the world of the young women of her time and though we live in very different times now, there are certain feelings that reamin exactly the same. I difinetly recommend all of these novels to any young woman out there because each of the protagonists in these novels is a heorine in her own right even if at times we find they are greatly flawed. It is their flaws that make them so human. This is a great collection to give a daughter or a niece or any young female in your life because it is something that was written by an intelligent woman about intellegant women.

Great Prayers For Ecumenical Services.......2007-06-02
I have found this book to be of great value in my Ecumenical relations with other faiths.
I have also found for myself a deep spiritual renewal in reading this book.
I recommend this Book of Common Prayer to all that value the wisdom within other faiths.
Very Good!.......2007-05-14
Well, I can't rate the BCP anything but positive. My only concern was I failed to read the size of the book and it was smaller then I would have liked, the pages are thin, but at the same time feel very "strong." It has the Daily Office and the complete Psalter. If only I had read the dimensions, I am sure I would have opted for a larger addition. If you don't have problems with smaller print, then by all means purchase this copy, you can't be the price. Also the binding it very good, the book while small, lays flat, whch is a really nice in a hardcover book of this size.
Review of BCP.......2007-03-25
I was pleased with this book, as well as for the speed of delivery. Thanks.
the other good book.......2007-03-24
This book was so good, I used it in my wedding!
Book of Uncommon prayer.......2007-03-23
A wonderful size to tuck in a backpack or purse, I love the language of the liturgy and the realm of spiritual union they create between the reader and God. Nicely bound, delicate paper.

Let's face it, there are better editions of Shakespeare out there. You get what you pay for. This is not a top of the line leather edition. For the price, though, you can't beat it. It is what it is, a reasonably priced leather edition of his complete works. No household should be without one.
Works of William Shakespeare.......2007-01-21
This was a gift for our son, who appreciated having all of Shakespeare's works in one attractive volume.
Excellent.......2007-01-09
This is a great compilation of Shakespeare's work. This beautifully bound tome has proven to be a great resource for me, a future English major.
Excellent Quality for the price.......2006-08-13
Very nice edition, highly quality finish and binding. The pages are standard re-production for Shakespeare issues - but overall it is excellent value for money and is attractively bound. For those who want 'notes' and 'critiques' - look elsewhere. It is as described - a leather bound edition of the complete works of Shakespeare. I love it! Thank you Amazon USA, you cant get this edition in the UK.
Excelent.......2006-07-10
What can I say? Shakespeare is the man. For any of you who love shakespeare, or just need a good reference for class; this book is amazing... not only that but you will look really intelligent if you have a thick leather bound shakespeare book on your bookshelf haha

Customer Reviews:
Such beautifully woven paragraghs.......2007-08-21
After reading classic novels on and off in school until I got out of college and in my own free time, I have to say Charlotte Bronte's writing style is the most intricately and splendidly crafted masterpiece. Her sister is quite talented as well. It's a great deal to have this collection that you can pick up and just start reading one of the shorter stories, or go over some of the most powerfully written sentences in Jane Eyre.
Charlotte & Emily Bronte: The Complete Novels.......2007-03-15
What a beautiful book! This is a hardbound book with gold leaf and a red ribbon bookmark. Beautifully put together. It contains ALL of the works of the two Bronte sisters, so if you love 19th century "trashy" romance novels, (which I do!) this is the collection for you! Would definitly recommend this edition over any of the paperback bound editions. Cost more, but it's worth it.
Charlotte and Emily Bronte: The Complete Novels.......2007-03-08
Great collection of Bronte sisters' work at a good price. Nice hardcover, with dust sleeve. Big prints. Love it.
If you are a Bronte sisters fan, definitely get this book. The novel I like the most of course is "Jane Eyre". I read some of the dialogues between Jane and Rochester several times, and every time I read, I got something new out of it. I love Gothic romance, and the Byronic hero of the English literature.
The Genius of the Bronte Sisters.......2006-10-17
This one book collection of Charlotte and Emily Bronte's five novels seems quite a deal indeed - and in hardcover! Anne Bronte's novels are must reads alongside this book of works to complete the genius circle of the Bronte sisters. As an ardent fan of all the Bronte sisters, not only for their storytelling brilliance but their high literature skills, I often find myself reading a sentence over and over again in order to absorb something profound or so perfectly worded. Even if you do not prefer the melodrama of Wuthering Heights or dramatic romance of Jane Eyre; as with all Bronte sisters' novels, they are worth the read just for the amazing literary food to be found therein. The bulk of the Bronte sisters' books also illustrate pages from their own interesting and challenging lives of 150 years ago. Whenever I read the novels of either of the Bronte sisters, as with the works of Jane Austen, my own aspiration to write fiction is strongly rekindled.

Customer Reviews:
I like the NKJV!.......2007-09-01
The NKJV of the Bible takes some knocks but I think it is a good solid strong translation of God's Word! I like this edition (I wish they had used better paper, India or French-Milled) but...overall it is a nice size and I like it, in general, the NKJV of the Bible is the one my wife and I use. Grace and Peace
Light weight and comfortable.......2007-08-07
I like my copy of the NKJV Signature series ultra slim Bible. I have been looking for a leather Bible with these proportions and a typeface that I can still read. This Bible fulfills those two goals. The fact that it is calfskin probably did make it a little easier for me to buy it. Originally, I wanted a NASB with these features (still do, I guess) but for the time being I am happy with this one. I would snatch up a Nelson's Visual Reference in NASB if they put a calfskin or even genuine leather cover on it (not bonded, simulated, pleather, etc.). Are you listening Nelson? OK, back to this Bible. It is soft to the touch, extremely flexible (you don't feel like you're going to break it if you fold the front cover back over itself) and light enough to hold for long periods of time. I noticed a little unevenness in the gold edging on the pages (with the Bible closed), they look like lighter spots or maybe water spots. The only other thing that puzzles me is why the front and back (flyleaves?) are glued about 1 inch from the spine creating pages that looks like a mistake was made. I don't have any other Bibles or books that have this kind of gluing, so it makes me wonder if it is indeed supposed to be this way. Other than that, I think it is a very nice Bible and would recommend it to anyone looking for something light, flexible, readable, and (I believe) durable.
uncomplicated sophistication, worth the extra $.......2007-02-25
Beautiful!! Simply beautiful:) I will not waste your time with previously stated details.......other reviewers have covered these issues. I say, " if you need to justify the $40 extra dollars"..............go to any major bookstore, Christian or otherwise and casually p/u a standard "leather bound" Nelson Bible....notice how the leather trim is covered by the book's cover/back flap pages instead of the leather trim going OVER the flaps themselves? Looks a little hurried to me. SLAP the glue on...we have to go go go...get this one off the press, etc.... Oh and don't mess around with that "special high quality Bible paper"....no no......this ho-hummmmm not-so-fine paper will do just fine. Aaarrrrrrrgh. Penny wise, pound foolish. The signature Bible takes the extra steps to make this particular BIBLE elegant and exceptional. My copy melts into my hands allowing me to simply focus on the GOOD NEWS....no distractions. I open the book and read b/c my subconscious isn't thinking about rough leather/hardcovers, hand fatigue or even if the pages will tear. Nope. Just the right size for just about anywhere I could possible want to keep it:) THIS is MOM's Bible!! Dad, get your own:)
Amazing Signature Series Bibles.......2007-01-17
I have purchased a number of Bibles in my lifetime and will continue to do so but this Bible is by and far the nicest that I have ever purchased for a gift. The look and the feel of the soft leather is incredible and being the most widely read book in the world with the most significant message in the world makes this an incredible gift especially for this price
NKJV UltraSlim Signature Series Bible.......2006-10-18
Just to let you know I`ve used many bibles in the past and so far feel
this NKJV Signature bible by Nelson is the best.
Cambridge does not print a NKJV bible and the competiton is "slim".
Allan of Glasgow bibles have yet to come up with a quality NKJV bible.
The calfskin leather is soft and it opens and feels like a dream.
The paper is also what I like since inferior paper tends to dry out
my hands!
The pages are in a quality binding and will stay intact for a long time.
As for the format less is better for me. I would rather read the bible
and focus on the word than comments from elsewhere.
Buy it you`ll like it!

Great value for the price.......2007-08-02
Let's face it, there are better editions of Dickens out there. You get what you pay for. This is not a top of the line leather edition. For the price, though, you can't beat it. It is what it is, a reasonably priced leather edition of four of his novels. At five dollars apiece, the price can not be beat.
Pretentious.......2007-06-07
Buying books because they look good on your shelf is pretentious and phony - and this book capitalizes on that. I got this as a gift and was amazed when I read it at the number of typos in it. There is simply no way this collection was proofed by an editor - that or the editing company is one of the worst in the world.
Buy these fantastic books, but not this edition, unless you just want people to think you read Dickens.
If nothing else, it looks good on your bookshelf........2007-03-13
You would do better off buying these books individually from a different publisher.
It sounds impressive, leather bound, gilded edges, but it is very cheaply done. On the plus side, it does have a ribbon book mark so you don't have to buy your own.
But this book was poorly edited, filled with needless typos, and with all four of these books available from numerous other publishers, I would suggest to just buy it from them.
Loved it,.......2006-02-12
I'm a big fan of long drawn out novles. I've always been a fan of Dickens. This book has on eof my favorite stories by his pen: Great Expectations. His style is very personal I found it a lot like Tolkien. His ability to tell a good tale is clear as the reader becomes part of the story. Very nice volume and worth the time and money in my opinion.
Lousy Binding.......2005-12-20
I've read all but "A Christmas Carol" in this edition. I've found several typos. Moreover, the binding is becoming unglued. I estimate by the time I finish "A Christmas Carol" the binding will be totally exposed. I value permanent books (otherwise I would buy paperbacks). I suggest anyone who enjoys Dickens buy a better edition.

Indexed Amplified Bible.......2007-08-23
if you want not only a very accurate translation of the bible but one that is a pleasure to own and is "built to last" then you are going to be hard pressed to better this version
Great bible.......2007-06-17
I bought this bible (actually I got it new on ebay for 40.00..check there first) and I love the translation. I like knowing I'm reading the meanings of the original wording. It's a bit of a challenge to use for memorizing, and I often use an NIV for that. The only thing I don't really like about this bible is the binding. It's bonded leather, but seems on the flimsy/weak side to me, although not so bad that I wouldn't buy it again. It would be great if it came in a quality leather binding...maybe it does, but I haven't seen it. Otherwise maybe a hardback binding would be more practical for carrying around.
enlightening.......2007-06-09
The Amplified Bible is a wonderful help with portions of other translations that are vague or confusing. While I prefer the KJV for my primary bible, I read with it on one hand and the Amplified on the other. Highly recommend it to any and all. The product is well bound, a wonderful buy. Orissie
A MUST HAVE!!.......2007-05-06
If you like to get more from your Bible study, you NEED this tool. You get so much more of what the writer's were saying and it takes your devotions to a whole other level. You can definitely get into the "meat" of God's word this way and feel confident that you are getting the accurate message being conveyed.
THIS is NOT Leather.......2007-02-22
This says leather bound, when it is actually bonded leather (thin leather attached to paper) and not genuine leather binding. I wrote Amazon and they acknowledged the mistake but I see it has not been corrected. This is an exceptional translation, and not a bad price for even bonded leather but I just wanted others to be aware of what they were getting when ordering it.
Book Description
There is nothing quite like the look and feel of embellished books. Unique, tactile and so very pleasing to the eye. Over-the-top embellishment combined with the look of a journal that has been lovingly used for at least a century. Not only does this book have a magnetic wrap but added is a classic red ribbon marker and a memento pouch to store the treasures of a life well lived.
Customer Reviews:
Loved the book, thought the description of the cover was off.......2007-05-19
I bought 3 of these for the women in my family to write down their memories. They all absolutely loved the idea and the book, especially the pocket in the back. I was a little disappointed in the cover. It actually looks to me like the paper for scrapbooking. I thought it would be more realistic. Everyone was happy though and for the price you can't beat it.
Great Gift Journal!.......2006-12-17
I got this journal as a gift. It's a beautiful, hardbound journal with the look of an old-world leather journal (although it has no leather on it). Extra features include a red ribbon in the pages and a magnetic flap closure that folds part-way over the front of the book. It also has a pouch that I just discovered on the inside of the back cover, presumably to hold small momentos (though there is not room for any bulk, due to the way it closes). The nice thing about the hard cover is that it can open and lay flat, which is difficult to do with most flex cover journals. Note that there are lined and unlined versions of this journal.
Love it!.......2006-10-20
I actually love this writing journal. It's comfortable with enough flexability to write quickly, and sturdy enough to not need a table or anything else to lean on.
If you're going to do a writing, and if it's one you know you will want to keep, this journal is one of my favorites. It has a great closing clasp that keeps the pages protected and the look of worn leather without having to use leather. Amazon has the best price for this one, much better than in the stores. It's really a great journal.
The Perfect Journal.......2006-09-19
I purchased this journal as a birthday gift for myself. Formerly I used spiral notebooks for my journaling. I love this journal! I find I am writing more, which is great. Buy this, you will not be disappointed!
A Perfect Journal.......2006-07-08
I can't pass up on the opportunity to sing the praises of PaperBlanks journals. I have not found a more beautiful, practical, or durable journal out there for the low price. With the classic old leather look and the sturdy, crisp paper, these journals look and feel like they should cost much more than they do. The magnetic closure and the inside pouch are nice extras. I love my journal! Every time I open it I feel like I am writing words that will be treasured for generations to come. I imagine a future decendant of mine reading this journal 100 years from now and they are taking a step back in time to pay a visit to me. They will probably think I was a rich man to be able to afford such a beautiful journal. I first started keeping a journal when we learned that we were pregnant with our son. So far in the past 2 & a half years I have filled 2 PaperBlanks journals and I am going to buy a third. My hope is that I will be able to present my children with an entire collection of these journals to keep and cherish. As for the "Faux Leather" complaints... All I can say is, learn a little French. It means fake. Honestly, you can't expect real leather for this price. So study your French and read the reviews before you purchase these journals. Please don't give this journal a poor rating because of your own ignorance. If you want a genuine leather journal be willing to pay the $35+ for one. These journals deserve 6 stars!!!
