Customer Reviews:
Well done ... Worth the price.......2007-01-13
This book is well layed out and had all the particular songs I was looking for. It has the guitar parts in both notation & TAB, along with chord names. Excellent value for the money. Buy it!
I'm So Glad???????????.......2006-12-31
The transcriptions are pretty acurate in this book. I was very pleased to hear that it was coming out, as it would save me plenty of time with my students. But the one song that a few of my students were psyched to learn is not here!! Does anyone know why "I'm So Glad" is not included here?
With that said, don't let this deter you from buying this book, there's a ton of stuff to learn here, and some versions of songs such as "We're Going Wrong"; which have been arranged quite differently from the original are really quite nice, and will provided you with many chording ideas which you could and should implement into your own playing.
Wonderful tabs.......2006-11-10
In 2005 for the first time in almost 40 years, Cream reunited at Royal Albert Hall where they played their final performance in 1968. This guitar recorded version book contains 16 songs from that concert. With notes and tab, this features--classic songs like "Badge", "Cross Road Blues", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "White Room", and many more.
They put out three albums, Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears, and Wheels of Fire. It is a must have for ANY Cream fan!

Nice photos with short explanations for young children learning about how ice cream is made. This book works nicely in conjunction with the book Let's Find Out About Ice Cream.

double scoop of fun.......2001-03-11
Can Bailey School possibly get any weirder?? Well, funny you should ask...
Our small band of 3rd graders is presented with one of their newest run-ins with the strange and supernatural. Out on a trip to the Burger Doodle, they run into a new counter worker, Scout. In addition to having an odd name, Scout is an odd character! First off, her skin is ashen white, she wears a hooded black sweatshirt, and her eyes are blood red!! Speaking of blood red, what's that weird, thick red syrup she's always putting on her own ice cream? It looks a lot like... like blood!
It doesn't take long for the Bailey Kids to begin to wonder about her and her strange way of almost GLIDING over the tiles. Besides, she doesn't ever laugh or even crack a smile. It's not long before someone suggests that she might be a ghoul: an undead creature in the service of a vampire who is in search of new places for their vampire masters to live. When the Kids find out that Ms. Jeepers, their vampire teacher, is thinking of having her family move to Bailey City, they decide that action must be taken or else the city will be overrun by vampires!! One for a teacher is bad enough!
This is the 31st installment in the Bailey School Kids series and is a bit creepier than some of the others in the series. It's still got all the elements of the other books, a wisecracking Eddie who refuses to believe that any of these weird folk are anything but that-- just weird, not supernatural, a fast pace and fun plot.
I've reviewed a number of the books in the series and am finding them quite addicting. They're fast reads for beginning-to-intermediate readers (though an adult will likely finish them in less than half an hour), and the language is simple and fun. I often recommend this series for students & children who are not very interested in reading because the pace is fast, the plot is simple, and they're generally a lot of fun to read. So, scoop yourself out some vanilla and settle in with the Bailey Kids in this installment!
I would give this book BIG five stars........1998-06-17
I would give this book Big five stars beacause it tells what are they going to do to solve the mysteries and what's going on. I liked it because they give details about how they look like. I would compare this with Vacation Under The Volcano but I like Volcation Under the Volcano better because it has magic. I would recommend this book to a friend because in the book they try to figure out what is going on.
A ghoul was searching for a home of a family of vampires........1998-06-12
This book is nifty and exhilerating. I really liked this book and I think you should read it.

Book Description
The latest book in the internationally recognized series devoted to contemporary art (Cream and Fresh Cream), architecture (10x10), photography (Blink) and
product design (Spoon), Cream3 offers an authoritative view on the art world of today and tomorrow.
Ten international curators, renowned experts in contemporary art, have each chosen ten artists whom they feel best exemplify what is happening in the contemporary art world today, and also those who will be the stars of the future.
The 100 artists in Cream3 have risen to an international platform since 1997 or, in the opinion of the curators who have selected them, are about to do so. Each artist's work is represented in two double-page spreads, accompanied by a short biography and bibliography and a text by the curator who selected them.
The variety of ideas and forms in contemporary art are presented in Cream3 through 400 artists' pages, arranged A-Z, featuring numerous examples of each artist's work alongside a brief text from the curator. This virtual exhibition of new art is preceded by a virtual conversation - an internet discussion among the 10 curators - each a noted name involved in the staging of new developments in art.
Each curator in Cream3 has also selected a 'Source' artist whom they feel has influenced or created the context for the new generation. These 10 'Source' artists provide a wider historical framework in which to view the new work.

too heavy item.......2006-08-18
this is a good book.... but you have to order it alone. it can damege other items in the same box. be careful!!!!
almost fresh cream..........2006-07-11
The design of the book although is pretty good, its not sophisticated as fresh cream, seems like too big and heavy, just as the book design lacks a clear concept. The page layout of cream 3 isn't very delicated too... but in general its a great book, the compilation of artist is really wonderful...
good...but needs something.......2006-07-10
I found this book to be very informative with some of the things that are being done in Contemporary Art. However, the two Cream books preceeding Cream 3 are much more creative in layout and there are more innovative artists as well. This book is good, but compared to the others it is lacking just a bit.
disappointed.......2004-08-02
This third volume of the Cream series disappointed me. I say this mainly because this book gets bogged down in either conceptual ideas that are less than grandiose or curatorial/theoretical high-mindedness that trumpets the intelligence and sensitivity of those compiling the list. Instead of looking at emerging artists either from the markets point of view or as those new artists inspiring other artists, this book becomes about as flat and appealing as rusty water.
Its one saving grace is that it is bringing dozens of artist's attention for the first time in a major publication. And even if these artists' work for the most part is less than overwhelming, it is interesting to explore their work. Maybe not enough time passed between the first, second, and third Creams to allow for the quality found in the first two. But I suspect it was primarily those that did the compiling this time around that are to blame for the damaging of an otherwise fine series.
Try Vitamin P or the earlier Creams if you are interested in a contemporary art survey.
An exciting and innovative book.......2003-11-30
"Cream 3" is an exciting and innovative book in design and concept, and a great introduction to cutting edge art.
However I think the work within is not quite as interesting as that in "Cream 2" (or the similar survey, "Art Now"). The work somehow seems less intelligent original and compelling as the previous volume (though it is much better designed as a book.)
In light of the plethora of video work, I believe that such books should be accompanied by a CD or DVD with sample clips of the video art, as did the last Whitney Biennial catalogue (albeit with a CD for audio art). Unlike flat art or sculpture, visualizing moving images with stills is a bit like trying to comprehend the 5th dimension in our 3 dimensional world.
It is quite amazing how the former hegemony of New York has been replaced by a globalize art world (perhaps part due to public spending outside the US). The editors of the Cream series have taken pains to accelerate this trend of globalization to a significant advantage.
Nevertheless, I have one caveat on this subject. I know that the curators cannot represent every country in the world, but they have not mentioned one artist in Australia and New Zealand - both (interrelated) counties that are now producing quite outstanding and innovative art that often goes unnoticed in the Northern hemisphere.
Book Description
ICE CREAM answers just about every question kids have about their favorite dessert, and it does so with as much concern for accuracy as for lively, engaging presentation. Jules Older (also author of COW and TELLING TIME) has won multiple awards for his work. Illustrator Lyn Severance designed the whole Ben & Jerry's look. Jules and Lyn both live in Vermont.

Customer Reviews:
word play.......2004-01-17
The story is pretty simple: Mr. Minky rides his bike down a jungle path to get an icecream cone home for his boy before it melts. The story gets its charm from Mahy's trademark word play -- double dip chocolate chip with cherry etc etc. This book rhythmically sounds a bit like Dr. Seuss. Kids will love the animals that all want the icecream cone, but the illustrations aren't ever going to win a Caldecott award. The butterflies look quite elephantine, and Mr. Minkey's pie and pudding looks more like mashed lentils with green peas. So if you have a child who loves animals and the sound of words, this may be a good book. If your kids are looking for arresting pictures, they'll be turning the page on you before you can finish reading it.
A Candy Coated World of Make Believe.......2002-10-12
Madonna, who now has read and written children books said it best when she said, "I read a lot of children books and really they're about nothing. They teach children to think little and be pretty, and they rarely teach a moral lesson." This book is in the former category. It's a candy coated treatment of the world, and quite unengaging and limited in both scope and content. Have your children read Grimm's fairytales or else Aesop's Fables. At least in those pages they will learn something of value. It certainly beats this brain dead literature.
A wonderful story about protecting an ice cream cone.......2000-06-09
If having your 5 year old request that you read a book again and again until he knows the story by heart is your definition of a good children's book, then this is the book for you. The story is simply about a father who buys an ice cream cone for his son and has to get home before it melts. There is a short-cut through the jungle. Along the bumpy path, the father has to protect the "simply delicious" ice cream from a number of animals. The play on words and the father's attempts to protect his precious cone are extremely funny. The pictures add to the enjoyment. My 5 year old son asked me to read the story so many times that he memorized it. A great book to enjoy with your children. The title says it all.
Book Description
Ice cream. . . You scream!
Sammy has learned to live by his wits on the voyage from Poland to the Jewish immigrant community that is to be his new home in New York City. It is here he discovers that the vibrant, noisy streets of New York are alive with challenge-even more of a challenge than his new school. Will it be Sammy's wits, or his beautiful singing voice that will keep him out of trouble in the games of stickball in the rough-and-tumble streets?
Rona Arato has written a humorous, life-affirming story about a young boy standing up for himself in the midst of peer pressure from a local gang, prejudice against new immigrants, and his own desire to be accepted for who he is.
Customer Reviews:
Ice Cream Town.......2007-08-06
For young Sammy Levin, leaving Poland for America means gaining access to the finer things in life: stickball, matinees, and a regular supply of ice cream. Unfortunately, attaining his desired lifestyle drives him to join a Jewish gang, with kids whose moral standards continually diverge from Sammy's own. A prankster with a good heart, Sammy now finds himself expected to skip cheder and participate in various acts of thievery. Conflict between Sammy's desire live up to his father's moral and academic expectations and his need to belong fuel this story, and lead him to employ creative solutions for his dilemma. This novel is based loosely on the life of the author's father. Some of the colorful descriptions--such as how to play stickball-- contain details that bring the time alive for readers. The question of how traditional Sammy's Judaism will remain in his new country is integrated with veracity into the more universal moral issue of stealing, which layers the novel with the multiplicity and complexity of challenges newcomers have faced. Themes of the New York immigrant story, such as Ellis Island inspections, garment worker's sweatshops, prejudice, or tough street life are not new to the genre, but told with a lively flair. Experienced readers of the Sydney Taylor books will get a grittier and more realistic side of immigrant life from child's point of view. For grades 4-6.
