An Amazing Book !!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-06-10
I have the 1993 publication of this book, and it's amazing. It teaches you how to draw cars in general, not just the ones shown in the book.
Worth Spending Money.......2005-10-17
Hi!!The book is wonderful for beginers. It helps you get the basic right.Almost all aspect are covered so that you can start sketching cars on your own like side view,3d view.Gives detail information for drawing tyres. This book has helped me a lot and I would recommend this book to everyone without any hesitation.
Never knew I could draw.......2004-09-28
I bought this book for myself as a 37th B-day gift and realized after all those years.... I can draw!!! : ) My wife swears I've taken art before but I haven't. After drawing 2 cars I used the techniques to draw a car out of another book and it looks good. I am my toughest critic and I like what I see. I bought 2 other books which cost more and they don't teach you half as much as what you learn with this book. I wish someone had given me this for my 9th B-day. Good luck.
aswome.......2003-06-20
Great book, i drew almost all the carws in it and some on the way to my vacation in south carolina. it teaches you the basics on how cars are drawn by the format they give you its easy, my freind got the hang of it in 20 min! its worth your buy. you get a format for: BMW, Porche, Mercades, and all other brands like Corvette, Audi, etc.
I didn't know I could draw!!.......2003-02-11
This book is very well done. I searched for a book that wasn't "cartoonish" and I found it. I'm going to school for automotive engineering and I wanted to learn how to sketch concept cars quickly, and this book showed me how.
I dont like to read...so this book was great for the pictures and concise explainations. Again, a very well done book!
Book Description
Thanks to the iron-on T-shirt boom of the 1970s and a raft of younger artists working today, hot rod monsters have persevered. Now award-winning car-designer Thom Taylor and legendary kustom kulture figure Ed Newton reveal the tricks and techniques used by masters past and present to render these whack rods and their warts-and-all drivers. Beginning with a brief history of the form, the authors examine figures like Stanley Mouse, Ed Roth, and Newton himself, then reveal how those pioneers influenced modern artists like Keith Weesner, John Bell, and Dave Deal, to name a few. In addition to offering chapters covering topics like equipment, perspective, light sources, and other technical considerations, Taylor expands on the cartooning, proportion, and color chapters from his previous works, applying them to the subject at hand. Also included are dozens of examples of the form from many of the above-mentioned artists and more

Customer Reviews:
Only if you're interested in older models/antiques!.......2007-02-10
This book is fine if what you want to draw is older models, but my son was disappointed because he wanted to draw hotrods and the like. I was disappointed because the book's cover should have indicated its contents better.
Very helpful book.......2000-03-29
This book takes you line by line through drawing cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Some are relatively simple, others complex. It is not perhaps an excellent way to learn to draw, but it will help you get a feel for drawing. It also has good explanations for the quartered wheel technique of circles. All in all a pretty good buy for the price-if cars, trucks, and motorcycles are what you want to draw.

A Great Book for Car Drawing Tutorial ..........2007-09-25
I find it that this book covers most of aspects you need to know to draw cars "properly". I recommend this book for anyone wishing to learn or hone their skills on car drawings, because it is quite difficult to understand such thing for some people like me :D
My 11 y/o loves it.......2007-07-17
My 11 y/o son is into drawing and into cars, so naturaly he started drawing cars, but he needed some help. I for one don't know what to do (not an artist), so I got this book for him, and so far the drawings he brings me are soooo much better. They are as good as the ones in the book, but it sure did give him a few pointers here and there. He loves looking at the tips, and hints in the book. All in all it made a difference to his drawings.
good for rendering.......2006-03-16
This wasn't so great at how to draw cars, but there is a lot of good stuff on how to render them realistically, which is why i bought it.
How to Draw Cars Like a Pro.......2005-08-02

Customer Reviews:
Excellent primer for young artists!.......2002-04-23
Using an easy to read format for both kids and their teacher or parent, 1-2-3 Draw is a wonderful resource for budding young artists ages 6-10. Throughout the book, the author uses practical tips to teach techniques (sketch lightly, store work in order to save it for later), getting organized (a materials list is provided at the beginning of the lesson), and an index for those quick art activities.
I found the lessons to have a consistent format and style, which is crucial for self-directed study or art lessons from a novice instructor such as parent or older child.
A must-have for every household library!

Oh, yeah! Now every child will learn how to draw their favorite Cars characters and even color them. It's simple really. They just follow directions and when they're done, they can give them a custom paint job! How cool is that? I recommend this book to any parent who's ever wanted their child to be just as creative as I.

Customer Reviews:
Great instructions for great pictures.......2005-06-29
I stopped my artistic development at stick figures and my children (ages 5 and 7) aren't much better. But, they want to draw different things. This series is great -- it is simple to follow and the results are great. I highly recommend this book as well as other books in the How to Draw series.

Well Done!!.......2003-07-16
Well written and incredible drawings. Anybody who likes to move around in something with a motor will love this book. Of course most kids who love cars grow up into adults who love cars. I enjoyed this book as much as my 13 year old son.
Excellent!.......2003-07-16
This is a great little book. Like a lot of guys, I love fast cars and this book was a pleasure to read and study with. Lots of practice and my techniques have improved greatly. This book is well worth the modest cover price.
i wish i could give it zero stars!!.......2001-09-13
Just with all of Hart's books this book cover is misleading. You look at the cover and think I'm really going to learn something and you read the book and get disappointed. He only shows the finnished step.He doesn't show the steps on how to get to the finnished step.Instead of describing how he draws it he gives you a history on each car.I'm sorry but telling a person the car history doesn't show them how to draw the car.I'm starting to think that Hart's books aren't very good.

I had to buy two copies!.......2007-01-18
The minute this book arrived and I saw how great it was I realized that I would need to give it as a gift to a designer friend. Then I needed to order another copy to keep for myself. If you are a designer, want to draw cars, or are just a fan of Hot Wheels cars, Scott Robertson's book is a wonderful insight into the world of unlimited transportation imagination. Kids of ALL AGES would love this book!
excellent for process and product.......2006-11-10
Scott does an excellent job showing both process and his own work. Use his designs and renderings for reference and inspiration, then raid his process to make your own work.
Fun book with excellent explanations.......2006-03-05
There is one aspect of this book that makes it extra valuable: Scott Robertson. Not only is he a master in perspective drawing. What makes Scott stand out is his ability to explain this in simple exercises and make you want to practise and understand. The simple texts and exercises are given a nice touch with excellent corresponding drawings. Great value for money.
