Book Description
Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code, by author Dan Brown, have deceived millions of people across the world with a plethora of lies about the one true God, Christianity, the Holy Bible, and the Christian Church. Dan Brown has achieved this by presenting the elements in his novels under the guise of fiction, while at the same time, claiming that they are factual. But even Brown's "facts," which he maintains are historically informed, are full of inaccuracies and historical discrepancies. What Dan Brown is describing in Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code can most certainly not be categorized as fiction, because in reality, the core and foundation of his writing is Theological and Christological. However, the Theology and Christology which Dan Brown has incorporated into his novels is a false Theology and Christology?-?it is grossly distorted and stridently far from the truth. This apologetic work sets out to provide the true Theological and Christological teachings of the Holy Orthodox Church in response to the deceptions in the selected writings of Dan Brown.

Customer Reviews:
A must have if you start with IMS.......2007-07-11
Possibly the best technical book I've ever read.
I work with IMS technology and we use the book in our department to introduce IMS to newcomers. But I also work in European projects on IMS and the book is the main reference for most of the other teams involved.
You just need this book and the 3GPP specifications for anything you want to do with IMS.
Very Good Book.......2006-11-18
This is a very good book on SIP-based Internet Multimedia Subsystem. The book nicely depicts both the Internet and the IMS architecture implementation of SIP, AAA, VoIP centric security and policy, QoS, presence service, media encoding and transport, and instant messaging. By reviewing this book, a reader will acquire comprehensive knowledge of emerging VoIP and Video Telephony Layer 5 architecture in wireless network. The book can be used as a senior or master-level text book, a useful review guide for the provider engineers, architects, technology strategist, product managers, and technical managers. SIP programmers, implementers, and standard engineers may find the book "not detailed enough". Since technology described in this book and their standards are rapidly changing, authors need to keep the book regularly updated.

A mixed bag.......2006-08-23
This book intends to be the de facto handbook for IMS, but it ends up being mostly reference material.
While it has some fairly detailed descriptions of the standards and protocols involved, it does not go beyond the specifications already publicly available, or the methods that some vendors already use. Some chapters read like a translation of technical drafts, while others concerning less defined areas are very high level.
The authors, while doing a good job assembling useful information, probably set out to write this book too early, when IMS was still only a reference framework, without widespread service provider adoption. Furthermore, the corresponding expertise across the industry is missing, thus making this a less elaborate view on the services that IMS would provide, compared to what the book's subtitle would suggest.
If you need a book on IMS right now, and are not happy with the abundance of online materials, buy this book. If you are looking for a comprehensive guide on what IMS means for providers and customers, I personally have not read such a book yet - but even if it has not been released, it is only a matter of time. Keep your eyes peeled for snippets of information coming out of service providers and infrastructure vendors, and for the ongoing debates in the industry around the evolution of the service delivery platform.
Good book but bad index..........2006-02-23
The book is good, expensive but good.
However I'm very disappointed about the index (the alphabetical word list place at the end of the book). Lots of important key words are not listed in the index, which makes the reading difficult. Camarillo, please improve the index!!!
I've also noticed some mis-writings , spelling errors (not mayor issues)
Of course a basic background in telecommunications is needed in order to follow the book, if you do not have that basic knowledge then I do recommend to have the books "Understanding Telecommunications 1 and 2" (Ericsson) by the side when reading Camarillo's book.
IMS - Revealed From the Inside.......2005-10-03
The 3G IMS book provides a look at IMS organization and SIP signaling from one of the people who were there while the protocols were being established. Since this is an emerging and still developing technology, the little insights like "this is what we intended to do here", and "this is where we want this eventually to go" will be emminently helpful in choosing equipment and network organizations.
I have to describe to customers how they might use IMS equipment and integratit into their networks. While this is no engineering level document, it is solid at describing the interfaces they will have to support. I think they will be assured by the information I now have to give them.
This is a bit pricey and the editing a bit sloppy, but then I find that the rule rather than exception with a lot of the inside information manuals.
This will be of great use and I hope it will arm me to be able to comfort customers that this architecture just might work.

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Warning to Parents - 'R' Rated Language in this Book.......2007-08-31
I just received the book so I haven't read it yet and can't rate it. However, while skimming through I came across several instances of language that may be objectionable to some. I purchased this book for my 12 year old son, because from everything I heard and read about it, it sounds like a very inspirational story from a man whom my son deeply admires. Unfortunately he won't be reading the book because of the profanity. Now I'm no prude, I've been known to use some colorful language myself, just not in front of children. I think it's a shame that a book that carries such great messages for kids has to be spattered with words that most parents would deem inappropriate for younger children. I'm looking forward to reading the book myself and may read it aloud to my son, omitting certain words as I go. Just wanted other parents to be aware if this is a concern for them.

Criss Angel: Mindfreak - Secret Revelations.......2007-08-23
Criss Angel has written a brilliant autobiography that sounds like his own voice talking to you, as if he was sitting right next to you. I could not stop reading the book. I could hear his voice after I put the book down. I could hear his voice after I finished the book. He is truly the embodiment of success using mind, body, and spirit. His imprint on the world of magic and entertainment will be idelible.
Mindfreak: Secret Revelations - Inspriational.......2007-08-23
From the moment I received this book I couldn't put it down. Criss takes you on a journey and shares his story from childhood to the present. He leads you through his life-path and reveals what it took to get where he is and what he continutes to do to be the best at what he does today. It's written as if he is sitting in front of you telling you his story. His strong connection to his family, their support and his drive to achieve his dreams made this a very enjoyable and inspirational read. It made me take note of my own goals and dreams. It motivated me to put the wheels in motion to make things happen in my own life. I've always believed that "it is all possible" and this book and its message reminded me to get off auto-pilot and make it happen.

I so loved this book. It was wonderful reading more about Heidi, Lauren, Whitney and Audrina. Those girls are hilarious. I didn't know that Heidi and Lauren met in San Francisco. The pictures inside are so good. The chapter about Lauren and headbands had me laughing out loud. I wish there had been more stories about Blaine. He was great on the show and I think he could have his own show. I heart Blaine! what's with jason and his burger list?

Just when Lauren Conrad, or "LC," thought that she had escaped all the teenage drama in Laguna Beach, she discovers that drama follows her wherever she goes. Lauren finally moves to Los Angeles to fulfill her lifelong dream in the fashion industry. When she lands the internship at Teen Vogue, it feels like Lauren is one step closer to achieving her dream.
But along with the internship Lauren has other things she has to worry about, such as school, which takes up most of her time, and Jason, the one who broke her heart but is now finally back in her life, hoping to give their relationship a second chance.
Of course it doesn't help matters that her crazy roommate, Heidi, has her own set of problems, like quitting school or having relationship problems with her boyfriend, Jordan. So now Lauren has to worry about her roommate's problems as well as her own. It seems like there are obstacles wherever she turns.
Jam-packed with pictures and stories about every character from the show (The Hills - The Complete First Season) including Audrina, Whitney, Brian, and of course Lauren, Heidi, Jordan and Jason, CITY OF ANGELS is like watching another episode of The Hills. The reader gets an inside look at all the problems that the girls go through, from relationships to intimidating bosses. The perfect read for any fan of The Hills. Who knew that one girl's life could be filled with so much drama?

The Portrayal of Love
ASIN: 0807826162
Release Date: 2000-12-06 |
Book Description
The figure of the putto (often portrayed as a mischievous baby) made frequent appearances in the art and literature of Renaissance Italy. Commonly called spiritelli, or sprites, putti embodied a minor species of demon, in their nature neither good nor bad. They included natural spirits, animal spirits, and the spirits of sight and sound, as well as hobgoblin fantasies, bogeys, and the spirits contained in wine. Among the sensations ascribed to spiritelli were feelings of love, erotic arousal, and startling frights.
Throughout, Dempsey advances a larger argument about the nature of Italian Renaissance art. Rather than simply reviving classical forms, he says, the art accommodated and fused them within local, vernacular, and modern Italian traditions, both literary and pictorial.

Best Morrison book so far.......2007-08-06
It was heart-wrenching to read into the lives of these two beautiful people, outcasts since childhood. The book was well-researched and included fascinating interviews from family, friends, and classmates. The author was careful to decipher between fact and hearsay. I did find the occasional use of song lyrics and political sermons weak, but nothing is perfect. I loved reading details of Morrisons early life, that I have never heard before. This is the first book that details Pamela Courson's life. The media portrays her as a wallflower and trivial, but she was the most important person in Morrison's life.
a good read.......2007-05-18
i have always been intrigued by the life of jim and his so called cosmic wife pamela, they are the kind you knew would not make it pass 30, they lived a wild life , people loved them, hated them and criticized them , this book its entertaining as it talks about pamela like no other book, still i think she had something to do with his dead, perhaps she did not remenber been herself a heavy drug user..we will never know for sure what happened
but i still recomend this book.
Throws the Door open on the Lizard Queen and King..........2007-03-20
I'm a big fan of Jim and The Doors and have been for many years.
Although Pam is mentioned in almost every book on this subject and her romance with Jim is the stuff of legend, most books tell you little about her . And so she remains a shadowy figure in most peoples minds. This book painted a much fuller picture of Pam as a real person.
I found out many things about Pam and Jim that I didn't know and because of that I enjoyed the book very much.
I also was glad of the Author's attempt to paint a more positive picture of Pamela because sometimes I think she is unfairly blamed for things that were beyond her control, I do have to call into question some things in the book. Number 1 being that Pam didn't have a serious heroin problem before Jim died.
There is just too much evidence to the contrary and this has been confirmed by many people who knew Jim and most recently by Jim's bodyguard in 2006.
I think either the friends of Pamela who said this in the book were either unaware of how serious a problem she had or were trying to counter the image that people have of Pamela as just a junkie, which is something I cannot blame them for.
The book is well written and brings home again with a new freshness in spite of all of the years that have passed, just how tragic the deaths of these two young people in love really were.
You're lost, little girl.......2007-03-04
Butler set out to write a biography of Pamela Courson, but inevitably we end up viewing Pam primarily through the lens of her relationship with Jim Morrison. Butler dug deep while researching Pam's life, and does an admirable job of portraying a vulnerable girl who struggled to be seen as an individual. The charisma, ego and over-the-top substance abuse of Jim Morrison appeared to overwhelm Pam, who chose to escape through her own drug use. The book reveals Jim Morrison in a previously unexplored context. Reports of his rampant womanizing are legendary, yet there was a connection to Pam that could not be broken. Butler quotes several Doors insiders as stating that Jim kept returning to Pam because she was the only person, bandmates included, who stood up to him. I would have liked to see that aspect of Pam developed more thoroughly, rather than the emphasis on star-crossed lovers.
On first read I was disappointed that Pam was portrayed in the context of her relationship with Jim, but after re-reading and much thought, I realize that this is the only way we can attempt to know Pamela Courson. The 60s was the beginning of the feminist movement; in that era, band chicks were seen as an adjunct to the rock star. Agents and managers often encouraged the male stars to keep their significant relationships secret. Many women kept their personal aspirations hidden and basked in the reflected glory of their partner. Despite the tumult of her final years, Pam fought to be her own person and life life on her terms.
The romance of Pam and Jim wasn't what was tragic; the real tragedy was the excess which cut short their lives. Butler's book is a nice addition to a collection of Doors biographies.
Jim Loved Pam. Pam Loved Jim........2007-02-17
It's that simple. These two star-crossed 'Cosmic Mates' are among the most intriguing Rock couples of those long ago 1960's. I bought this book as a Doors fan. I would have enjoyed it anyhow. Patricia Butler adds some interesting previously unknown details about Pamela and Jim Morrison-especially Pam. She mentions in the book that she had received so much information-too much to include in the book. I was left wanting more and I hope she writes another one. I have to add that I would love to see that footage of Pam and Jim cavorting in a Moroccan (if memory serves) cemetery. I wish the executors of Jim and Pamela Morrison's estates would let their fans see it. As well as other footage. One day maybe. Anyway one thing is very clear to me. Jim loved Pam. Pam loved Jim. They were meant for each other and I like to think of them together forever in the 'ether' as Ray has phrased it. Heaven I mean. Peace and Love. :)

Sorry, Charlie..........2007-03-30
The book contains interesting facts and trivia about "Charlie's Angels", along with contributions from Farrah Fawcett and Cheryl Ladd. The highlight of Angelic Heaven are the personal photos of Farrah and Cheryl. Other than some pictures, there's nothing new here. Additionally, the book has many grammatical errors, which become distracting after reading too many poorly written or incomplete sentences. For a more comprehensive and a better well-written book about "Charlie's Angels" (with a brief introduction bt Jaclyn Smith), buy The Charlie's Angels Casebook by David Hofstede.
I was so glad to get this book!!! Farrah' biggest fan here!!!!!!.......2007-01-25
First of all the cover is awesome, a beautiful picture of the Angels with the Cheryl Ladd picture that I heard Farrah and Cheryl both chose. I bought this book because I collect anything on Farrah Fawcett and the Angels, but I really wanted to read Farrah's and Cheryl's forward, which are great, so are the pictures that Farrah and Cheryl donated to the book. It's fun to see all the advertisements from the show and the great collectibles that were from the show. It's a great way to re-live the series and it makes you wish even more for a Charlie's Angels re-union. Hopefully Farrah will be back to her beautiful self real soon, I do wish her well and hope she feels better and stronger everyday!!! This book is a must for fans of the series!!
Dr Pernice.......2007-01-21
Great job Mike it was easy and fun reading. Alot of facts and new pictures. One question, what took you so long?
keep the books coming
In "Heaven" with Angelic Heaven!!!.......2007-01-20
If you are a "true" fan of Charlie's Angels you will enjoy this book. It has rare on-the-set photos throughout the book from both Farrah Fawcett and Cheryl Ladd, a large toy selection, magazine covers, some rare artwork, tv guide ads, highlights from each episode and so on. And the price alone is well the the gorgeous color cover of the original trio.
As for grammar, picture quality, mislabeled pictures, etc - that is an issue between the publisher and the printer - not the author of this book. Unfortunately many out there are way too eager to go for a Jugular any chance they can.
This book isn't meant to be "Shakespeare", it's meant to be a fun and entertaining, just as the original TV series was. So sit back and let it entertain you! Good job Angels!!!!!
Angelic Heaven-Mike Pingle-You did a good job!.......2007-01-16
After a long wait, I was VERY pleased to get my hands on this book! If you are an Angel Fan (or a Farrah fan, like myself) you'll love this book as much as I do. It's full of interesting info, fun facts that even after all these years, I didn't know and lots of great "behind-the-scenes" photos. My thanks to Mike Pingle for putting this book together! Mike-You did a good job! Kenny :-)
Book Description
Exploratory data analysis (EDA) was conceived at a time when computers were not widely used, and thus computational ability was rather limited. As computational sophistication has increased, EDA has become an even more powerful process for visualizing and summarizing data before making model assumptions to generate hypotheses, encompassing larger and more complex data sets. There are many resources for those interested in the theory of EDA, but this is the first book to use MATLAB to illustrate the computational aspects of this discipline. Exploratory Data Analysis with MATLAB presents the methods of EDA from a computational perspective. The authors extensively use MATLAB code and algorithm descriptions to provide state-of-the-art techniques for finding patterns and structure in data. Addressing theory, they also incorporate many annotated references to direct readers to the more theoretical aspects of the methods. The book presents an approach using the basic functions from MATLAB and the MATLAB Statistics Toolbox, in order to be more accessible and enduring. It also contains pseudo-code to enable users of other software packages to implement the algorithms. This text places the tools needed to implement EDA theory at the fingertips of researchers, applied mathematicians, computer scientists, engineers, and statisticians by using a practical/computational approach.

Joins the Technologies of EDA with MATLAB.......2005-03-26
Searching available data to determine insights and information is fundamental to EDA. When EDA was first being developed in the 1970's the avaialble computers were small and weak. As a result techniques to utilize small data sets with pencil and paper were developed. These proved that the concept had value in certain situations where the investigator did not have a preconceived notion of what he was seeking.
MATLAB is a high-level technical computing language and interactive environment for algorithm development, data visualization, data analysis, and numerical computation. Using MATLAB, you can solve technical computing problems faster than with traditional programming languages, such as C, C++, and Fortran.
It's a natural then to tie EDA to MATLAB. With the interactive and visualiztion capabilities of MATLAB large amounts of data can be analyzed rapidly in many ways. This book ties the concept to the software. It has a good introduction to EDA, and then illustrates several applications where MATLAB provides the analysis of data to produce unexpected results.
