Whether this is pregnancy number 1 or number 10, nothing makes it easier to connect with a growing baby than knowing exactly what magical development is happening every day. Filling the need for practical information, medical data, emotional and spiritual fuel, and even "pregnancy trivia," The Pregnancy Journal is easily one of the best books available for a woman or couple expecting a baby. The journal contains about half a page of information for each day from conception through delivery. Nutrition, how to avoid discomforts associated with pregnancy, childbirth customs in other cultures, and practical parenting tips are among the topics touched on. Many days in the journal have a great section called "Did You Know"; for example, from Day 49: "The baby's arms at this point are only as long as this printed 1." At the bottom of each page is a quote from a literary or historical figure; some are sentimental, some pithy, some humorous, all inspiring.
The information and quotes seem to invite musings and speculation on the miracle unfolding inside the womb; there is some space for recording data and thoughts, but if you want to write more than just a few lines every few days, you might want to have a blank journal to accompany The Pregnancy Journal. The format of this book makes it much more manageable and inviting than most books on pregnancy, and the information is made even more accessible by the inclusion of a glossary/subject index in the back. Don't wait until the shower to give this excellent resource and thoughtful gift--moms-to-be will want to have it from the very beginning. --Katherine Ferguson
Book Description
Since its publication in 1996, this definitive journal for expectant families has sold over a million copies. Author A. Christine Harris brings a revised and thoroughly updated edition to today s parents-to-be. Still featuring daily entries, a personalized timeline, and pregnancy glossary, the revised edition provides a clearer picture of the baby's in-utero development and the latest advice about giving a growing baby every advantage prior to birth.

The Pregnancy Journal.......2007-09-21
This is a beautiful discovery of what happens in a woman's body throughout pregnancy and a wonderful way for you as a couple to bond with your baby. The book takes you through the journey and it is a real discovery.
Favorite Pregnancy Book.......2007-07-07
If you are looking for a blank journal - this isn't the book for you. If you are looking for a way to daily connect with the child growing within your womb - this is the perfect book for you. It was a psychological lifesaver for me. When my back was aching and nausea overwhelmed me I would often go to this book and read and it always reminded me that all the tough times of pregnancy are well worth it! I love the in depth detail on the estimated events that are happening. I realize that we all progress differently so the timing may not be perfect. However, as a nurse I am impressed with the accuracy of the material.
I have two sons and purchased a book during each pregnancy. I love reading through my notes in the books and recalling the sweet (and not so sweet) memories of pregnancy. We are planning on trying for another baby soon and this is the top book on my list! It will be a very special part of each of our children's memory chest.
The Best!.......2007-07-02
I bought this journal in 2000 for my first pregnancy and I bought it again in 2006 for my second. It's very user friendly and has just enough space to write down all the important things you want to remember. I love the day by day explanation of what's going on with my body and the baby. I highly recommend this!
wonderful!.......2007-06-27
Best pregnancy journal around...the day by day details are exciting to read and very informative.
This book hardly qualifies as a journal.......2007-06-19
I bought this book on Amazon and after actually looking through the pages decided that it really isn't much of a journal at all. This book has very few places to write anything - I ended up just buying a journal and writing in it weekly about my pregnancy. I wasn't looking for a book that tells me about my pregnancy and how it is progressing (let alone day-by-day) - I already had tons of books on that topic! Anyway - there are much better pregnancy journals out there. I just wish I could suggest one but since I decided to keep my own I can't. Sorry! On the other hand, if you are looking for a great journal for AFTER your baby is born I loved the one I bought - "Cradle the Thought - A Journal for the New Mother's First Year". Good luck!

A must for invitations!.......2005-01-10
I run a small stationery and invite business (Quite the InviteTM) and have found this to be an invaluable tool for my business. This book covers all possibilities. Not everyone has use for this book, but anyone who does lots of entertaining or needs to make sure their invites follow protocol, this is a must.
the definitive guide to elegant stationery.......2003-04-18
A lovely reference book on formal and semi-formal stationery, calling cards, and the proper wording for invitations. Filled with enthusiasm after reading the book, I went into my local stationers to price some of this fancy stuff and concluded that I was better off with a computer and printer. Not that I wouldn't love engraved letter sheets, monogrammed notes, and house stationery, but it would run into the hundreds of dollars. And that's just for the letter sheets and engraved envelopes! However, it's wonderful to press my nose against the window and dream about spending my children's inheritance on engraved correspondence cards!
The sections on the content of one's correspondence were the weakest part of the book. The four-line formula condolence notes did not strike me as particularly consoling, for instance. "Miss Manners' Basic Training: Communication" and other books specific to letter writing give much better tips on how to compose meaningful messages. But Crane's remains the lofty goal for elegant correspondence.
A desk reference with attitude........2000-12-27
As someone who got really intrigued by parchment and fancy fonts when I got married, I'm rather surprised that the only version of this book still in print is the "Blue Book of Wedding Stationery." After all, one can have a hoity-toity paper fetish without being engaged.
After a few years of hunting, I found a used of this book in a small used bookstore in downtown Seattle, and I may never give it up. Even though the editor (Feinberg is not credited as the author, and there's an introduction by Stanley Marcus) is bossy, unrelenting on some conventions and is essentially pushing Crane's engraving trade every step of the way, I'm still drawn in by the ellegance of "proper" social stationery. It's easy to take Feinberg's advice with a grain of salt: he seems to resent popular etiquette mavens who state that an extensive "stationery wardrobe" is not necessary, and that the most formal invitations are handwritten.
The introduction of this book gets into the history of paper-making and engraving, and the beginning of each section gets into either the history of the custom being described or stories behind that particular piece of social stationery.
I'm a tad disappointed by the section on calling cards -- a small fluffy book I saw on the subject once got a bit more into detail on what it meant if a particular corner was folded -- but the fact that Feinberg addresses the subject at all wins a point with me.
Other topics covered are the basic "stationery wardrobe" for both men and women, invitations to various occasions, wedding stationery (of course), greeting cards and announcements, "professional stationery," forms of address and a brief history of Crane's. The book includes an occasional example of famous social stationery, such as a 1942 Christmas card from the President and Mrs. Roosevelt.
I've been online for ten years, but I still love sending and receiving paper letters. "Crane's Blue Book of Stationery: The Styles and Etiquette of Letters, Notes and Inivitations," snooty though it is, nurtures that love like few other books have.
Chapter headings include:
1. The Essence of Etiquette
2. Social Stationery
3. Invitations to Social Occasions
4. Wedding Stationery
5. Greeting Cards, Social Announcements, and Social Correspondence
6. Business and Professional Stationery
7. Calling Cards
8. Appendix

Customer Reviews:
Great Keepsake!.......2007-09-26
I bought this for my nearly one-year old son to begin marking his Birthday celebrations. Everyone I've shown it to thinks it's a great idea and the perfect way to keep track of Ryan's first 12 Birthdays. Although it won't hold much, I just wanted it to hold invites, thank you cards and a few photos, and it will definitely do that and more. I've been thinking of buying it for all of my friends' kids, too.
Great keepsake.......2007-06-27
This was a great book to purchase for birthday keepsakes. I gave it to my daughter for our grandaughter's first birthday. It was appreciated because it gave her a place to keep the invitation, pictures, etc.
Not exactly what I wanted...but ok.......2007-06-01
Several years back, I saw a birthday memory book at Hallmark. I bought it as a gift for several friends. I looked everywhere for it but had no luck. I found this one on Amazon. It is ok but not exactly what I wanted. I wanted something more 'child-like.' This is very nice but doesn't really scream "I'm a kid!"
What a great idea!.......2007-01-15
I have seen all the school years books for memories but have never seen one for birthdays. My mother sent this up to us and I love it. There are pockets to store cards from the birthdays, pictures, an invitation from the party and some favors you may want to keep too. Obviously there is a limited amount of storage space but I love it. You fill in the age they were for each birthday (great b/c I didn't have this for her first bday). There are also spots for you to tell about their bday, about the party, what you did and ate, highlights from the day, gifts and who gave them, and a place for special memories and hopes for the past/upcoming year. Then you sign it or whoever fills it in signs it. I really love this book! I think I will buy more for family and friends.

Book Description
Idea Index kick-started a revolution in graphic design books, unique in size, feel--and most important--wealth of ideas. Layout Index is the next step, a compendium of layout idea-generators that will help designers explore multiple possibilities for visual treatments each time they turn the page. The visual and textual suggestions are divided into eight major areas, including newsletters, flyers, posters, brochures, advertising, stationery, page layout, and Web pages.
Each of these examples are designed to inspire effective solutions in the viewer's mind, rather than simply give specific answers to design problems. The tone and temperament of the design problems, as well as their solutions, vary from traditional to cutting-edge, from corporate to crazy. Designers will learn to solve their design problems, produce fantastic work and become better, more creative thinkers.
* Both creativity books and layout books are extremely popular
* As proven by Idea Index, the format of this book is a proven winner with designers
Customer Reviews:
great for students, good for old hands, priceless for adhoc designers.......2007-01-04
The whole "index" series is good for jump starting when in a stuck place. For average students it can really be helpful to get them to seek/create more variety in their work. For marketing or PR individuals or students it is a must have. Many individuals may have a cursory introduction to design and yet find themselves having to create layouts and design. The Index Books are a lifesaver.
Sad leftovers from the dark ages..........2006-10-14
This book is at first appearance, visually interesting and consuming. But upon closer look (as in opening it) it's not worth the time, money or breath sadly. The concepts and ideas within this book can be inspiring to thoses who have the time and energy, but overall this book is just a display of bad, kitsch design. My advice? Don't bother.
Not overly sophisticated.......2005-09-06
I bought this along with the Color Index, and I must admit I'm not overly impressed with the ideas in this text.
I will keep it onboard because you -never- know what might spark your creativity, and I must admit there are a few good ideas to jump off from in this book. I donno, I guess I just feel underminded when I flip through this book. It is a bit too kitchy for me (think clip-art-like graphics), and many of the solutions presented in it are too busy and hardly professional.
i use a lot.......2004-12-09
for those who aren't experienced in the in's and out's of page layout and design, this book is a lifesaver. it really gets your creative juices flowing by simply giving you a full range of possible ideas for how you can change up your design. i found it much more useful than the idea book, which didn't really help me with the visual expression part. if you have a concept and you simply want to consider all the possibilities for how you can express it on a page, i recommend getting this book!
A simple, helpful guide.......2004-07-09
Design inspired by this little book leans towards clean & well ordered displays of information. This book provides basics of page building & information distribution.
Beginners will like this book, however, those looking for more complex layout ideas should either work on the existing ideas taking them to the next levels, or peruse other books.

Book Description
A unique title which covers all the component parts of the core ITIL set, and by complementing more complex publications, acts as an efficient entry level to the ITIL literature.
Customer Reviews:
It's an excellent reference.......2007-09-06
"If you are not familiar with ITIL this truly is a must have. I purchased the book because I wanted to learn more about ITIL and I was amazed at how much useful information I found within a 242 page book. If you are a seasoned ITIL person this may be a little too basic but if you are new to the subject matter you should grab this. It's an excellent reference."
[...]
This *is* the book.......2007-02-24
The Service Support and Service Delivery books on ITIL offers an extensive and very detailed guide about each process. This introductory book about ALL ITIL, not just only Service Support and Delivery, offers an exact balance of knowledge for each ITIL discipline. It covers also (in a condensed way) ICT IM, Security, Application Management, Planning to Implement and The Business Perspective. The added value is that you have a better picture of all the ITIL processes. For instance, it explains the relationship between Change and Configuration Management with Application Management. It also explains how Security is related to Service Level Management, ICT IM related to Release, etc. Just to talk about a few examples.
Without the knowledge exposed in this book, some people could just think about ITIL as a methodology that only improves technical support or help desk. If you are beginner with ITIL I strongly suggest to consider this title instead of buying the two ITIL core books. It gives you the right information and what is better it provides you with valuable and concise information about the other disciplines. Of course, if you are considering implementing the methodology, the two ITIL core books (support and delivery) offer a very, very detailed approach.

Simply breathtaking..........2007-06-08
not much else needs to be said. This is my first Ansel Adams calendar, and I am very pleased with it.
One of my favorite calendars of all time.......2007-03-26
Getting this calendar as a gift was a blessing to me. Now, I know an artist that I simply adore - and have some of his art even though it is in calendar form.
This is an artist that I feel I can make connections with. Every picture brings a memory - even if I haven't lived in one of the pictures - the pictures bring happiness to me and that's what matters most.
Its hard to feel connected with things these days. With the fast pace of everything in this high tech world its nice to receive something and feel connected to it.
The pictures are warm and loving and fit well in every room.
Beautiful Calendar.......2007-03-08
The stark beauty of Ansel Adams' works never cease to amaze. The calendar itself is large, on heavy stock and features a spare design.
Incredible photographs.......2007-03-08
We have had the annual versions of this calendar for several years. The photographs are truly amazing and I love how the seasons pictured in the photos vary with the actual season. He was an amazing artist. Highly recommended.
a CALENDAR review?!.......2007-02-20
It's got 12 pages and about 30 or so nice, large squares per month (neat how that works) printed on nice, thick 'n shiny stock paper that's great for writing short 'note to self' stuff on and it has a small hole thru each page so you can hang it on the wall, brilliant! ...all kiddin' aside, Ansel Adams calendars are great because of his exceptionally detailed black and white photos. I'm not a big camera or photo buff, but I can spend several minutes gazing at the expansive shots he took with their razor sharp detail, all the more amazing considering it was done many decades ago, when you'd have to believe technology was much cruder. It's like a different work of art for your wall each month. I give it the highest recommendation possible, that you can bestow upon a calender.

fun relaxation activity.......2007-09-30
I bought this product for use in an early childhood education classroom with 3 to 5 year old children. Our program encourages the children to make choices whenever possible, and this product gives me a relaxation activity for the children that allows them to make a choice, by taking turns selecting a card for everyone to try. They enjoy the activity and so do I. It really helps us to wind down and develop our self control.
Kids love them!!.......2007-06-28
I work with children who have disabilities (cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome, etc). Every child has trully enjoyed these cards. On the back the pose is broken down into 4 organized steps. It's neat to watch the kids figure out how to pose themselves. I use them for stretching, attention and concentration, deep breathing to help calm, weight bearing/strengthening, and for social groups (there are partner poses as well). A few of the parents even purchased them for home!
L-O-V-E these cards.......2007-05-25
I love these cards. My kids play with them without me, and I love to make sequences with them too. My Girl Scout troop loves to use them during our downtimes in meetings, they are such an awesome way to promote independant fitness! BUY THESE CARDS if you or your children love yoga!
works for me.......2007-05-21
I like using Yoga Pretzels in my classes, they help me keep a kid-like mood. The kids love being able to pick a pose or two from the cards. They take time to study the drawings and find ways to share and cooperate. I love the "Time In" section-- the relaxation scripts work equally well for adults and children. Animal Friend is my favorite.
My only criticism would be that the instructions for the poses don't say how to get out of the poses, or how to move into another pose. With a little experience and imagination this is easy to overcome, so it's not much of a drawback.
The color combinations are striking, drawings whimsical and clear, poses have a good range from easy for anyone to really challenging. Reasonable price too.
Yoga for Kids.......2007-03-29
This product is excellent for an experienced Yoga teacher looking for ideas for class or for a parent who is wondering what to do with the kids over spring break! I highly recommend it!

OK.......2007-08-23
The deck is just OK. My youngest grandchildren (4,4 & 6) lost interest rather quickly.
Good Buy.......2007-07-31
I bought these for my niece and nephew. The activities are great but I wish the pictures were of real children. My niece and nephew do, too.
My Students LOVE These Cards!.......2007-07-26
I started mixing Yoga into my Student's Ballet Cirriculum. I use the Yoga Deck at the end of class to warm down. Now my students are asking all through class "Can we play the Yoga cards now?!" I let them take turns picking from each colored group of poses and exercises.
The Yoga Deck has been a wonderful teaching tool for me and my students. I am so glad I bought them. They are invaluable!
Fun Yoga for children and adults.......2007-07-22
This deck of cards is informative, complete, inspiring and loads of fun for both children and adults alike. If you teach children, or would like to teach them, I highly recommend The Kids' Yoga Deck.
I liked them.......2007-05-25
These cards are a great resource and fun, I like my Yoga Pretzels cards better though.

Customer Reviews:
Average Quality Paper.......2005-07-10
This is a pretty standard set of origami paper, no special bells or whistles, but the large size makes it suitable for very intricate, complex models with many tiny folds. It is also good for beginners who are still learning the art of origami. A word of caution: the dye on the red paper and the other deep colors tends to rub off while you're folding.
This paper is BIG.......2001-08-10
This paper is bigger than I thought it whoud be.The colors are good.
Good practice paper.......2000-06-25
I received my paper and ripped open the pack so I could start folding. I was immediately disappointed by the selection of colors. The colors themselves are good enough, however they are boring. They make your creations uninteresting and drab. I prefer patterned color paper. The paper performs well and I recommend this paper for practicing because if you mess up you didn't lose all that much.
