Very Relaxing.......2007-09-28
I enjoyed this book very much. I kept it on my coffee table and would color in it to relax. Now that each page is colored I have moved it to my bookshelf.
Very nice!.......2007-06-12
Out of the half dozen coloring books we bought last year this one was our favorite. Every design felt well thought out and was quite fun to color. My only complaint is that there weren't more pictures to color. This is well worth buying if you're looking for a challenge to your coloring skills.
Great Book!!! Thanks!!.......2007-01-25
This is a very unusal book,...I think I am going to really enjoy this one!!! Thanks again!!! Arcrystal
Just do it!.......2007-01-13
The book sat around for awhile, the markers I used didn't work well with the paper. Then I started with colored pencils, now I'm addicted!
Love It!.......2006-11-28
I ordered 6 coloring books on the same day, and out of all of them, this one IS my FAVORITE. The designs are more than meaningless geometric shapes. They're really pretty!! And the pages are nice and big, and you can tear them out!! So you don't have to worry about that annoying bump getting in the way when you're trying to color.
MAIN POINT the designs are pretty :) I recommend.

Configure the Center Just How You Need It.......2004-03-04
I purchased the whole series. At times different forms call for my attention and the additional selection is definitely appreciated. The variety is quite good. They range from simpler to complex, with open spaces which leave room for my own variations. The author's designs seem to create a sacred space in which the individual's own light can shine, even if all they want to do is simply "color" a bit. I would expect this flexibility to make them accessible to people with widely varying skills: children, many disabled persons, the elderly, the imaginative and the gifted artist, as well and most of us who are somewhere in between. Yet they are undemanding so that no one need miss out on the calm center and its healing.
Everyone's Mandala Coloring Book Series.......2000-09-13
Author, artist, transpersonal psychotherapist and business person all describe what Monique Mandali is, but do not tell you who she is. I've been privileged to meet Monique and I know that she is a seeker traveling her path. Her walking stick is her love for all, especially children. Ms. Mandali offers a series of four coloring books for children and adults. There are three different delights in the original Everyone's Mandala Coloring Book series, each consisting of 22 designs. While the original three books in the series contain designs by the author, the latest (and perhaps greatest) has 25 peace mandalas from children all around the world. The Peace Mandala Coloring Book is very special because the mandalas are designed by children unencumbered by the pressure of adult living. Further, they bring a variety of spiritual as well as geographical cultures to bear.
Monique Mandali has given us something special. Not only do we find drawings to color that can aid in health and serenity...Everyone's Mandala Coloring Book Series is additionally special because they represent the best part of Monique Mandali, her love!
Wonderfully centering activity and a great gift!.......1999-07-06
Volume 2 of Everyone's Mandala Coloring Book has given me even more opportunities to share this wonderful, relaxing experience with friends of all ages - and to enjoy this peaceful, centering activity. Kudos to the author and creator!
A classic among mandala coloring books. Wonderful!.......1999-06-15
Gorgeous designs. I've purchased several copies as gifts for kids as well as older people and am not about to stop buying this wonderful coloring book. Plus I really like the perforated pages for easy removal of the pages. Thanks, Monique!

Art Masterpieces to Color: 60 Great Paintings from Botticelli to Picasso.......2006-10-18
Wonderful book! I like the summaries of the artist, the orginal pictures for examples, and the amount of detail for a beginner to moderate colorer is not too much. I bought this book for myself (44 years old), Dad (82) and Mother (78). This will be the Christmas gift this year for everyone in my family.
60 Great Paintings from Botticelli to Picasso.......2005-09-20
Iknow there aren't many out there who enjoy coloring at my age, but it is a very relaxing hobby while watching TV in the evenings. This book is fun and has great variety.
Love this book.......2005-03-03
A great fun way to introduce famous art works to the young. It has a small version of each art work on the cover. Your child/student can color the art work the same or make it their own.
Customer Reviews:
Solid localization of an awesome One Piece artbook.......2005-11-13
If you consider yourself a fan of One Piece, you're going to love this book.
As an "artbook," Color Walk 1 fulfills a very important role for the One Piece manga. During the serialization of a black-and-white comic such as this, the author will still typically draw many illustrations in full-color. These may take the form of promotional images used in ads, cover illustrations for the anthology magazine the comic appears in, and even special title- and story pages within the comic. The problem with this practice is that most nonessential art get tossed out in the production of collected volumes, and what's more, Japanese graphic novels (called "tankobon") are generally reprinted completely in black and white, so even the color illustrations that are kept are reduced to a mere grayscale shadow of their former glory. The result is that all too often, the color art for many series is seen only once, then disappears for all time. That's where artbooks like this one come to the rescue.
Color Walk 1 collects all (or very nearly all) the magnificent full-color artwork drawn by Eiichiro Oda during the serialization of the first 81 chapters of One Piece, from August 1997 to April 1999 (or January 2003 to November 2005 in America). That includes full-color title page spreads, promotional illustrations (some never-before-seen in America), cover art for both Weekly Shonen Jump *and* the graphic novels, and even panels from the manga proper. It doesn't end there, though: also included are sketches from the planning stages of the comic, illustrations from Oda's pre-One Piece days, and a fold-out map of the sea known as "East Blue". The cover illustration's an original, too.
Of course, quantity would mean nothing without quality, and Oda delivers in droves: his illustrations are imaginative, well thought-out, playful, and dramatic. Oda likes to use these images to put his characters in all sorts of situations outside of the comic, and these are where his talent really shines. Some of his artwork early on in the series tends a little toward the clichéd pirate stereotype, but luckily, this makes up only a small part of the whole. And, if all the artwork isn't enough for you, there's also an exclusive round-table interview with none other than Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump, and character designer for such videogames as Chrono Trigger and the Dragon Quest series. It's definitely a must-read if you're a fan of either author.
For all that greatness, I do have a few nitpicks with the localization. First, though the included panels from the manga are translated to English, not all of them match what has previously been released in Viz's adaptation of the manga itself. I'm not sure why this is, but it annoys me slightly, even though the meaning isn't changed significantly. Second, the translator doesn't seem to have a good grasp of Dragon Ball in English: In the Akira Toriyama interview, "Pilaf" is twice translated with a direct romanization ("Pirafu"), Piccolo-Daimao (the Great Demon King) is called "the Lord of Darkness," and several other characters' names use non-standard spellings that are nonetheless recognizable. Luckily, these odd translations don't substantially affect my overall appreciation of the book; it may not be a perfect translation, but it's pretty close.
A few words of warning, however: If you've been reading the manga in English, you'll want to read up through volume 9 (or the chapters thereof) before you get this book. It isn't just for spoilers: having read the manga also helps you put the images into context both chronologically and in terms of the story. There's also the matter of a certain anthropomorphic reindeer being on the cover, as well, but you'll get to know him sooner or later. If you follow the version of One Piece aired on TV, you may be a little put off by the contents: yes, Sanji smokes, the crew drinks alcohol on occasion, and people bleed. Don't fault the series for this, though; that's how it was intended to be (even in the animated version), and besides, there are still plenty of images that feature pure light-hearted fantasy, without all that pesky "drama" to worry about. There's something for everyone, here.
I'm (pleasantly) surprised that Viz released this book when they did: Color Walk 1 was released in Japan when One Piece was nearing volume 20, but as of this writing, volume 9 has yet to come out in English, and the chapters it contains were only finished up in the November 2005 issue of Shonen Jump. But all the same, I'm appreciative that Viz went to the lengths it did to bring over such a high-quality version of such a wonderful little artbook. Now we'll all have to look forward to when Viz puts out Color Walk 2 in... 2008, or so.
In closing: If you like One Piece, buy this book. You won't be disappointed.
Book Description
A beautiful and unique boardbook which teaches children their colors via pieces of contemporary art by acclaimed artists, with short accompanying text that describes each artwork for the adult reader. For example, a beautiful silkscreen by Andy Warhol of field flowers highlights the color purple. The word purple is printed, in bold purple type, on the opposite page. The word purple is also translated into Spanish, French, German, and Japanese, which children find fascinating. A few sentences are given for the adult reader that describe Warhols motivation for this and other artworks.
Twelve colors and artworks are featured, as listed below. They represent pieces by the masters of contemporary art to emerging leaders; women and men; people of many ethnic backgrounds. Red - a dynamic, spiritual painting by Mark Rotho
Blue - a mystical assemblage piece by Betye Saar
Yellow - painting with human figures and words by Jean-Michel Basquiat
Orange - a rich, flowing painting by Sam Francis
Green - a room installation by Barbara Bloom
Purple - a silkscreen of flowers by Andy Warhol
White - a billboard of empty bed sheets by Felix Gonzalez-Torres
Black - a wooden sculpture by Louise Nevelson
Grey - a painting of the United States map by Jasper Johns
Brown - a wall of vintage suitcases by Hirokazu Kosaka
Pink - a geometric landscape painting by Richard Diebenkorn
Light Blue - a light and space, neon artwork by Doug Wheeler
Customer Reviews:
A total delight.......2002-07-09
The great thing about this books is that I TOTALLY disagree with the reviewer ...
The author has selected new and emerging artists instead of the tried and true. As a parent I enjoyed learning about new artists instead of sitting throught Intro to Art History again. My child has benefited from from learning her colors and being exposed to new artists.
A total disappointment.......2002-06-12
I have ordered around 100 products ...and I have never been as disappointed as I was with this book and with The Art of Shapes. I bought them for a three year old child thinking that he would start getting acquainted with famous works of arts from all over the world. With a few exceptions the artists selected are completely unknown. There are millions of famous beautiful European and American masterpieces that would have been more suitable for a child. ...
What I did not figure on was how much I would LOVE it........1999-04-20
I read about this book in a parenting magazine and thought that my baby daughter would enjoy it. My husband is an artist, so I thought that it would be a great book to teach her about art in a fun way. What I did not figure on was how much I would LOVE it. This book shows an artist's work in a specific color. It tells the artist's name and a brief description of their work. On the facing page, it tells the color, then translates the word into 3 other languages. It is short so it keeps my daughter's interest and she is facinated by the color. My husband and I have enjoyed talking about the art on the pages. Forget about the child wanting to look at the same book over and over again -- with this one, it is ME who wants to. I am buying the other two books in the series today.

Customer Reviews:
beautiful and intricate, but...........2005-12-22
Most of this coloring book is as wonderful as I expected it to be. I like the selections from the Book of Kells that were chosen to be included, and there's a good variety. The subject matter can't be beat, but I have two small complaints. One, some of the smaller knotwork details are indistinct, even missing. I realize they may be missing in the original, but for a coloring book I really feel they should have been extrapolated for completeness' sake. Second, the Latin script pages aren't translated, and the old calligraphy is hard enough to read that I can't translate them myself.
Aside from these picky details, though, this is a gorgeous, fun coloring book, perfectly appropriate for the collector, either of coloring books or Celtophilia:)
Book Description
Re-create works by the Impressionist masters with 60 color-ready paintings. Customer Reviews:
Impressionism makes an Impression.......2007-03-12
From Bazille to Whistler, the 60 masterpieces are wonderfully drawn for young imaginations to fill-in with color! For some, this will be a great introduction to art; for others it may inspire the walk up a path to beautiful art. But all the young people who are lucky enough to have this book will be reminded of it from time-to-time for the rest of their lives.
Book Description
More than 130 enchanting illustrations recapture the spirited beauty of horses and ponies. Colorists and horse lovers of all ages will treasure these realistic depictions of draft animals as well as sporting creatures — thoroughbreds, mavericks, show horses, polo ponies, and many other magnificent steeds. Informative captions offer accurate background.
Customer Reviews:
160 pages would be way too much to color, not a huge FAN OF THIS ONE!.......2007-04-24
I found out now that this coloring book "Big Book of Horses to Color" by John Green is a compilation of four books--FAVORITE HORSES, HORSES OF THE WORLD, WONDERFUL WORLD OF HORSES, and PONIES OF THE WORLD. Each detailed, line drawing includes a caption that tells some historical background or pertinent information about that particular breed, and notes and/or glossaries of terms introduce each "book." It is yet another gem for the other equine lovers or budding colorist, but not for me.
I wouldn't be to much a fan of this Big Book of Horses to Color because it's 160 pages and it would be too much to color because you can tell for "HORSES OF THE WORLD" about what John Green had known becuase the horses all look alike...from the fiery arabian to the Anglo Arab to the quarter horse and that there is no dished head on the arab, the quarter horse looks like a pony, no BIG rear end...the drafters, and the other European horses probably and maybe looked ok. You could tell this author was definately NOT up on our western breeds in HORSES OF THE WORLD! My only two horse ones from BIG BOOK OF HORSES TO COLOR by John Green is only Wonderful World of Horses and Favorite Horses and those will be my only two favorites from now on and never Horses of the World and Ponies of the World because it's awful that a Quarter horse looks like a pony with no big rear end and no dished head on the Arabian and I think the price is very low on this book as well, too. Ponies, I like to see only at shows but, "Favorite Horses Coloring book", "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring book", and "Horses of the Old West Coloring book" are only my three top favorites by John Green and they're better anyway because what you like about is for "Favorite Horses coloring book is that colorists with a fondness for these high-spirited animals will be delighted with John Green''s accurate renderings of 30 different equine breeds, among them showhorses such as the Andalusian and Missouri fox trotter, sleek thoroughbreds, pintos, Arabian, and sturdy workhorses. Captions. For "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book", Thirty handsome illustrations capture the legendary grace and beauty of the horse. Depictions of mounted riders; horses racing across fields; mares with their colts; horses walking, galloping, trotting; a stallion rearing up on its hind legs; and more. Captions supplement an impressive panorama of the world''s best-loved and most highly prized animals. For "Horses of the Old West Coloring Book", Saddle up for a fun and fascinating ride back to America''s old West, where horses played a vital role in the culture and development of the country''s new frontiers. Add your own colors to 30 exciting scenes straight from the pages of history: the Pony Express, the U.S. Cavalry, wagon trains, and more. Those are the only three horse coloring books by John Green I'll only like are Favorite Horses coloring book, Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book and Horses of the Old West coloring book because those perfect best three would be a lot of fun anyway and that's a fair better choice of three.
I never want "Horses of the World" in "Big Book of Horses To Color" by John Green because it's awful that a Quarter horse looks like a pony with no big rear end and no dished head on the Arabian and I think the price is very low on this book as well, too.
The Quarter Horse doesn't even look like a pony in "Favorite Horses Coloring Book" and it's much better in "Favorite Horses Coloring Book" and that's a better price, too.
The only books of The Big Book of Horses I like are: "Horses (All Aboard Books)" by Laura Driscoll, "Storybook Treasury of Animals (Storybook Treasuries)" and "The Big Book of Horses" edited by J. C. Suares and that's the best ones I'm a fan of in "The Big Book of Horses" and of course the only horse coloring books by John Green are only "Favorite Horses Coloring Book", "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book" and "Horses of the Old West Coloring book" and that's the best fair choice to have of Horses coloring books and of course the Big Book of Horses.
Well, can't wait to buy "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring book" and "Horses of the Old West coloring book" and those will be also fun to color in.
That's an excellent fair choice for a good cowboy:)
