This book does a beautiful job of showcasing the concept art behind the movie. The majority of the art uses pastels as a medium, but there are also examples of pen and ink, pencil sketches, sculpture, digital wire frames, and more. But, if you're looking for actual frames of the finished movie, this is not the product you want.
The thing that sets this title apart from the other "Art of" Pixar books is the quality of the narrative text. All the "Art of" books have wonderful imagery. But, in this book, the text truly immerses the reader into the world of concept art. Conversely, the text in The Incredibles book often goes off on tangents about the director's personal life and events at Pixar. I like how this book keeps the focus on the art.
An Excellent Book . . ........2005-08-14
My favorite of the Pixar "Art Of" books as well as one of the best "Visual Development" books I've ever seen. Overflowing with story sketches, conceptual drawings, visual development artwork, character designs, thumbnail drawings, color and background keys - nearly all of it classic, 2-D artwork. Excellent and informative text regarding the importance of good storytelling in film.

Don't need to be a Finding Nemo movie fan to own this book. Great illustrations throughout this book. Every illustrator or art enthusiast should have this book in their library.

I liked the book. My son loves the book and still carries it around after a month. The stickers peel off so you can finish the book and still stick them every where. My only complaint is that you really have to pay attention to where the stickers go. they are not labeled very well. but they are restickable (I think thats a word). Its a good book.

I bought this book expecting one of those 'Making of . . .' creations, but ended up being pretty disappointed. Don't get me wrong, this guide is very informative, amusing and candy for the eyes . . . but for children. Or, for adults with inner children. Seeing as I'm a cynical teenager, it didn't do much for me :)

This book is really cool and it gave me a lot of information on Finding Nemo that I didn't know about before.
But I did see a couple of errors in the book.
But the only errors were length and stuff like that....so it really doesn't matter that much.
Besides that the book gives you information on just about everyone in the movie and information on the type of fish that the characters are,like I never knew that Dory and Bubbles were related,let me tell you how:
Dory is a Regal Tang.
Bubbles is a Yellow Tang. cool huh....?
Anyway, its a good book to read when you're bored or while you're watching the movie.

Excitement Under the Sea.......2003-07-22
This was the neatest Finding Nemo book! It has all you need to know about the little secret things about Finding Nemo! In fact, it's my favorite book! Finding Nemo is my favorite movie, and now I have a favorite book to match it! I especially like how even the moonfish and jellyfish get their own page full of information. The tank gang's bios were very interesting, as were overlooking of the dentist's office. Thank you Nemo!

I have been researching Finding Nemo for three months now and of all the stuff I might get besides two books ( including this one)and a CD, this is probably the most awesome. When I first read it, I knew everyting and I have read it five times. I have memorized this awesome book and I highly reccomend it for all those fans out there!(But none as dedicated as me.)Also, I reccomend Don't Invite A Shark to Dinner and Other Lessons from the Sea. It, too, is an awesome book and I have memorized that as well. Hi, Erin Wilser!!!

This is a good book if you like to color fish and water. My brother liked it too excepting he don't stay in the lines and messed it all up so I have to get a new won. Nemo is good if you color him pink which I like the best. You should buy this if you like fish and coloring them.

Nemo stickers, not so reusable.......2003-12-12
If your kids like stickers, then this is a nice set of stickers from the movie. But the reusable part is slightly misleading. After moving them more than twice, they don't stick very well, and they are only reusable if you stick them on the book's specially coated pages. I've found many kids expect stickers to stay stuck and sometimes get frustrated with this style of book. What kids love about them is the large, high-quality sticker pictures. The other Nemo stickers for sale (without books) aren't as nice, so buy more for the stickers.

I'm not a kid in age, but a kid and artist at heart...and an avid Nemo fan. I purchased a couple of Nemo coloring books to help me relax and forget about all the stresses in the world once in a while, and they sure have been fun to work on. Luckily, I haven't used the stickers; because I plan to paste them on my coming baby's nursery walls.

If my son was older I think he would enjoy the book better but he loves the bath clings. They're pretty small and get stuck in the drain so be careful! I usually have to fish them out after every bath. But overall they were a good buy, especially for the price. I would definately suggest it for any child that loves bathtime. My son says "Nemo!" the minute he hears the bath water running!

My 27-month-old daughter LOVES these bathtub stickers. She puts them all over the tub and has me write out each character's name with a bath crayon. I only wish they had even more bathtub stickers. She asks where the whale is or where the turtle is. She really has a lot of fun with these stickers and the coloring book is lots of fun too for this Nemo fan.
Finding nemo "window clings".......2003-09-17
This was originally advertised as a coloring book with "window clings" I see that has since changed from when I pre-ordered it. The now "bathtub stickers" are a bit like small window clings but they have very faint colors and don't stick too well. I was disappointed at the time and am happy to see that they changed the description.

Nemo Artistry.......2003-08-16
Even though I have already drawn good pictures of the Nemo characters, I bought this book to see if it would help me improve, and I also hoped it would assist my friends and family (who are a bit artistically challenged, yet still love Nemo). "How to Draw Finding Nemo" is a very cleverly written book, from Marlin's point of view, and he describes each character (as well as the entire movie plot) quite perfectly.
The first day I got this book (today), I drew and colored 24 good pictures of the Nemo characters. Each one is illustrated in detail and various poses, with helpful tips and hints. The book includes Nemo, Marlin, Dory, the sharks, Nemo's school friend trio, and the whole Tank Gang. It's only missing the turtles, for some reason. Anyway, it is a very nice drawing book.
Like any "how to draw" book, you may find it alot easier to draw without all those annoying 'guidelines' that you need to erase. But unlike most "how to draw" books, this one makes it EASY to follow each step individually and come out with a great drawing! Hey, I'm 16 and use it...this is NOT just for eight year olds!
My recommendations when using this book? First of all, USE IT. Don't just buy it, flip through, and never draw any of the pictures. It shows you how to do so quite simply. I know it's cheap. But still, use the thing! For instance, you may find Sheldon, as I did, easier to draw from his final result (all those little lines on his head are complex.) For another, they lie only once in this book. Jacques, it says, is half the size of Nemo? No, that's impossible. Jacques MUST BE BIGGER than Nemo (just a bit, as in the film), or he would also be able to fit inside the filter.
More examples you wish? I shall gladly oblige! Gill is alot of fun to draw. So is Bloat--you can make him inflated or deflated! Bubbles is a ton of fun because once you get the hang of him, you can make various cute poses! Deb is tricky because you must draw her whispering to her reflection/sister, Flo. Gurgle, the "fish after Marlin's own heart," is also alot of fun and fairly simple: just watch the diamond pattern, it's a bit tricky. I found a flat, head-on Peach difficult, but the shaded picture you can draw of her peeling off the tank glass is VERY COOL! The sharks do not look much like themselves in this book, sadly...except for Chum, he's ok. Anchor is kind of tough to draw, even though he looks simple, for they've given him a humpback. Bruce looks like a meat cleaver.
Tad and Sheldon come out nicely if you draw them properly. And Pearl is THE EASIEST character of all to draw, bar none. She is good for the absolute beginning child artist. The other nice thing I noticed about this book is that, unlike other "how to draw" books, it doesn't keep hammering over and over: "It's YOUR drawing! Make it unique!" and such. Yes, you SHOULD make your drawing personal, but...it's more important that you make it look like what it IS, AND have your own style. Accomplish first the task of making it look good and distinguishable. Then get fancy, if you please. I read this other "how to draw" book, and it must have said "It's YOUR drawing!" at least 25 times! I KNOW it's my drawing. It serves to make readers feel embarrassed/ashamed/harrassed/pressured about their artwork! Marlin makes gentle suggestions. Overall, this book is great for providing hours of entertainment!
