Customer Reviews:
THE BEST DEVOTIONAL FOR CHILDREN... AND PARENTS! Money well spent. .......2007-09-22
We've had our devotional for nearly a year, and we still love every page of it!
This book never ceases to amaze me. I learn from it each day as I read to my 4 year old daughter. She relates to the adorable illustrations, the short stories (perfect length at 1 or 2 paragraphs), the bible verse, and the prayer. She easily understands the biblical truths... and so do I! It helps me with my walk with God, too... so it's not just for kids. Mommies and Daddies are enlightened as well.
Definitely money well spent... and time well spent reading.
Buy one for your child and more for your friends. It's the gift that just keeps on giving.
Children learn values and as a result, they continue to be your little blessings in life.
Highly Recommend This Book!.......2007-04-01
I think it's a little "old" for toddlers, but I still read it to my 3 year old. I think the stories are told simply, but really will have more impact to children 4-7 years old. Seriously, *I* get something out of these stories. The Bible lessons are meaningful and appropriate for children. Pictures on each page are cute as well. I have no reservations on recommending this book to any parent who would like to have short and meaningful daily lessons. This is the second year we're on this book, and each day of the book is still like learning something new!
Great for Toddlers.......2007-01-19
We have had this book for years and both my 4 1/2 year old and 2 1/2 year old love it. It has stories that relate to them and they can understand. We recently purchased this as a gift for a friend who has an 18 month old and they are loving it also.
Catholic version.......2006-08-18
Hi- this is the Catholic version hardcover, note the right upper corner triangle which reads: Catholic version.
We loved the simple yet page long prayer and poem format for our VBS, or Catholic Faith (Apolstolic Tradition + Sacred Scripture) Summer Program. Both our Pre-K and 6-7 year olds benefitted and I wish we had another copy for dear nephew and cousins, which is why I'm here, to buy some more! One can never say enough about the importance of prayer and staying connected (to God) or about loving our neighbor and this book helps teachers AND parents do so especially after a long day and one might be at a loss for word pictures and prayer images.
Blessings Every Year Too.......2006-05-27
My husband and I have been reading these devotions with our two children for three years. My son is now 4 and my daughter is nearly 6. They both still get something out of these, as do we. Very simple, faith-building concepts. Certainly increasing a parent's child-like faith as well. I teach Kindergarten Sunday School, and give a copy of this book to each student at the end of the year. Stories are just the right length and level that they should help these precious children start a lifetime of daily devotions.

Our favorite book.......2005-01-08
My children and I love to read this book! It is a great way to help them learn scripture and the pictures are adorable.
beautifully illustrated inspirational book for toddlers.......2003-11-06
I read this book to my daughter when she's settling down for bedtime. Each page contains an illustration and a scripture passage representing one of God's promises. The bible reference is also given under the scripture. At the back of the book, there are approx. 6 prayers that you can pray with your little one. It is a lovely, small book that captures their attention and teaches them God's word. Wonderful for adults too!
Thank you Prayers: My Saviour.......2000-03-26
This book is great for young children now learning about praising Jesus and remembering to say Thank You for all the wonderful things given to them by God. It is a constant reminder that God is always here and he protects and guides each of us, Jesus said " And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." The illustrations are just wonderful they depict harmony among children regardless of colour or race it also gives a little charater they can relate with.
Book Description
This innovative guide to planning a personalized "mother shower" provides a blueprint for woman-to-woman support of expectant and new mothers.
Customer Reviews:
A woman-centered celebration.......2004-10-30
Blessingways: A Guide to Mother-Centered Baby Showers is a resource especially for planning and hosting Blessingway baby showers that foster a bond of community, support and connectedness for the mother-to-be. The distinguishing feature of a Blessingway baby shower is that it is a woman-centered celebration, that especially focuses upon the strength, beauty, and metamorphosis of the female powers of the expectant mother, rather than the more typical baby-centered parties used to accumulate goods for the newborn. Blessingways outlines how to plan and host a mother-centered bonding, rituals such as music, evocations, grooming actions including hairbrushing, headwreaths, and belly art, sharing circles, reaching out across long distance, and much more. Notes on Blessingway variations in response to adoption or grieving the loss of a baby are also included. Black-and-white illustrations and simple music for the songs that can be sung round out this uplifting, meaningful guide to helping new mothers across a difficult yet fantastic journey.
Book For Those Who Appreciate the Beauty of Pregnancy.......2004-10-07
Here is a wonderful tool for planning a really personalized baby shower! This book is great for those wanting to plan a different kind of baby-shower for the pregnant woman in your life. It has so many wonderful ideas and suggestions to make any baby related event meaningful and fun for all involved. It is easy to follow, engaging and fun to look at, and filled with suggestions you can draw from. I have even modified ideas from this book to create an event around other life changes such as for a friend who was moving away and a graduation of a daughter. It really has a lot to offer.
The book also makes a great gift for a pregnant woman. Blessingways is packed with great ideas which a pregnant woman may want to take advantage of on her own. Pregnancy is such a short time and I tell the pregnant women I work with to be intentional about what they want from these 9 months. This book is a great place to go to get some ideas to be sure you make the most of your nine months pregnant with this child.
Finally the book is a good resource for professionals who work with pregnant and expecting couples, providing them with ideas on small touches they could add to their services which would enhance a couple's experience. I highly recommend it!
"Blessingways" builds sisterhood and honors motherhood .......2004-09-17
Not only does Maser inspire us to create beautiful, personalized ceremony for our pregnant friends and family, she writes about the process with wisdom and simplicity. I bought "Blessingways" to give as a gift, but found myself reading it diligently. I am not pregnant, nor do I have close friends or family who are expecting; and yet I was engaged entirely by the history, stories and creative suggestions included in this wonderful book. Every woman should own a copy of "Blessingways", and every woman should consider offering the incredible gift of a blessingway to her loved ones.

Excellent Children's Book with a message.......2007-02-17
This book is an excellent book to read your children. Not only is it entertaining, it actually has a valuable message for your children. Imagine being able to entertain and teach at the same time. What a novel concept!
Love these books!.......2007-02-01
I've been reading them since I was a child, now my little girls have all of my old ones and we continue to add to the colection. GREAT BOOKS!
A Nice Book - a review of "The Berenstain Bears Count Their Blessings".......2006-02-18
I am totally baffled as to why this Berenstain series is called "First Time Books". Nothing could be further from the truth. The vocabulary is sophisticated (words like 'Killer Koyote', 'Avenger', 'Equestrienne') and there are way too many words per page to make this appropriate even for a first grader. [In fact, at least one of the kid's reviews here was written by a 10 year old!]
Note: Take a look at the page offered in Amazon's "Search inside this book" feature to judge for yourself.
And while I like the moral of this book, I find that it suffers from a reversal of heart at the end. In this case, after having made the point (very well I thought) that children *should* be thankful for what they have; the story suddenly reverses course and has Mama and Papa caving in and planning to buy the desired toys anyway. What gives?
To me this counters the good message of being thankful, with the supposition that if they `just wait' children will eventually get what they desire.
from the book:
So while Papa set the table and Mama started supper,
Sister went upstairs to play with her Bearbie doll, and
Brother tried to reach the next level on one of his video
games.
"You know, my dear," said Papa. "There are birthdays and
Christmas coming. Do you have any ideas for the cubs?"
"I thought perhaps a Just Married Bearbie for Sister and
a couple of video games for Brother might be nice," Mama
said. "What do you think?"
"I think we should count our blessings too," said Papa.
I don't know what other children make of this mixed message, but mine were happy that the cubs were going to get what they wanted.
Four Stars. [B-] The book starts off very well. It *does* convey the message that we should be thankful for what we have and not want new things all the time just because our friends get/have them. But in my opinion, you will have to have a discussion about the ending to make sure that message sticks.
Counting blessings.......2006-02-04
I think that this book was good. i thought that this book was good becauseit was mabey helping poeple count there blessings.I think that you should read this book if you want to read a little kid book.It is a good book.
Not the first time........2006-01-04
This book is ok, but I think they've already learned about "counting their blessings" in "Get the Gimmies." That's why I gave it a three!
Book Description
Kids ages 0-5 will love learning about God's unconditional love through the fun rhymes and cute pictures of the Little Blessings characters. Customer Reviews:
What a great message!.......2007-01-05
After I read my grandson's book to him, I bought several of these books to give to newly baptized babies in our church. I loved the message, the way it was presented, and the illustrations. What better way to let a child know he's loved no matter what he's feeling--angry, naughty, happy, sad. No matter what color or how he looks. Every young one should have this book!
Sweet Book.......2006-08-19
Cheery pictures and rhymes celebrating the differences in people with the message that God loves us all. This is my favorite book from the Little Blessings series and it's the perfect book for boys or girls. The cherub cheeked kids make the book extra sweet because they're created by the illustrator for Care Bears.
Great book!.......2004-06-03
This book has an outstanding message that is easy for young children to understand. The illustrations are wonderful. Vibrant colors and adorable kids really keep a child's attention. My girls (9 months and 21 months) love this book and they have for quite some time. It's, by far, their favorite. I plan to buy more from the "Little Blessings" line. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to introduce their little ones to the great love God has for all of us!
God Loves You Just As You Are.......2003-09-04
This book has a wonderful message. I read it to my 10 month old daughter often. I want her to know of God's love from a very early age. I love the "Little Blessings" books. The Christian message is easy to understand and I appreciate the ethnic diversity of the illustrations. My daughter has five of the Little Blessings books and I would love to collect them all.
P.S.: Good message for adults too.
Precious child's book for every child.......2002-02-07
Being a grandmother and volunteering in a church with an active preschool I was drawn to this book and the additional books in the series..the drawings are charming and sweet. The wording easily understood and loved by all the children in preschool and every young grandchild I give one to. I have purchased five of this particular book and several of the rest of the series. Highly recommend. We adopted Korean girls who are now adults and they love the ethnic variety of the children pictured. Excellent..Cant recommend this book and the series enough. Buy and enjoy and have your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren be enchanted....

Book Description
Every night before she goes to sleep, a kangaroo prays under the stars for a baby to love and hold. One day, as she rests under a tree, a baby bird falls out of its crowded nest—plop!—right into her pouch!
Now, every night before they fall asleep, Momma-Roo and Little One thank God for all their blessings . . . but especially for each other.
The book closes with a quote from Ephesians 1:5: “In love he destined us for adoption to himself. . . .”
Customer Reviews:
Tears to my eyes!.......2007-08-23
I loved this story! What a great way to explain to a child about a mother's true longing for a child and how adoption can be such a loving choice. I can't read this book without crying each and everytime. Luckily, my daughter is only 6 weeks old and I have lots of time to practice reading so I won't cry when she gets older!
Wonderful.......2007-08-23
This is a wondeful book describing a mother kangaroo wanted to be a mother. A baby bird falls into her pouch. It wonderful for the parents to read and helps the adopted children understand how we felt.
A lovely way to introduce adoption.......2007-06-19
This Golden book introduces the concept of adoption in a simple yet concise manner.
What I like about this book, is not only that it introduces adoption concepts, it also values the biological parent, and inter racial adoption.
By explaining that the parent's nest was too crowded is a nice way of saying that the bird was unable to look after her child, the love of this biological parent is also valued by acknowledging that she was happy that her baby was in a warm, loving, arms of the kangaroo.
With new and sensitive concepts such as adoption, it is expected that the child/children you are reading it to will have a lot of questions to ask that cannot be covered in a simple picture book. So before reading this book to any child, I recommend to read the story to yourself and think about what information you would like your child to know and how you might answer those difficult questions.
I recommend this book to adoptive and biological parents alike, wishing to introduce the concept of adoption.
My most favorite book about adoption.......2007-01-11
It's still hard to read this book without tears of joy about our adoption. This book tells the sweetest story ever about how much a mother wanted a baby. I hope my daughters will see how much I love them as we share this wonderful story.
Adoption books.......2007-01-04
This book was very good. It took a somewhat vague approach to adoption, but the message was that our children are ours and loved no matter how they come to us. It was great for small children, the intended audience.
Book Description
Preschoolers will enjoy pictures of God's creation as they learn to thank him for all he has made. The delightful art and rhyming text keep little ones engaged as they develop grateful hearts.
Customer Reviews:
My 14 month old son loves it!.......2007-07-21
My son loves to look at books and this is by far one of his favorites. He loves the animals and children. I like the fact that it follows the order of creation so closely and gives thanks to God for all that He has made.
Fabulous book!.......2006-08-10
I have a four year old boy who is autistic and a two year old daughter. My children love this book. They will bring it to me to read again and again, and then they will sit down and pretend to read it themselves. It also makes a fabulous gift for baptism or christening.
Beautifully written and illustrated.......2006-03-06
My son received this book as a gift and absolutely loves it! The pictures are adorable with cute children and animals. The rhyming prayers are catchy and it is a simple way to intoduce prayer to children through a story book. We highly recomend!
Thank little blessings line!.......2005-02-20
This is a great book of prayers that teaches God to be grateful!
It is specific enough for children to understand and simple enough to keep parents from having to explain the message. My nephews understand it easily.
Wonderful Book!.......2005-01-07
My daughter received this book when she was 18 months old. I started reading it to her. I thought that the words repeating over and over again might get old but she loves it. She also enjoys the pictures of the little children and animals so much.
Now that she is talking she tries to read it to me from memory and she says it's her God book. I had to buy her a couple more and she loves them all. They are also nice to take to church.

Customer Reviews:
For a Good Sweet Cry..........2006-03-09
I bought this book for myself 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my son. I read it and would cry and cry at the absolute sweetness of the poetry. The people who wrote these pieces totally and completely understood what I was feeling during my pregnancy -- the bliss, the aprehension, the anticipation. After I had my boy, I picked the book up again, and now a whole different section of the book made me cry. Then he turned one, and the book hit me again. Now 4 years later, I just bought the book for 3 of my friends, 2 who are pregnant, and one who has a 1-year old. They are all sobbing. They are not sad poems at all, quite the contrary. They are full of real moments of unadulterated preciousnesses, that force one to sit and fully feel the love we have for our children and for pregancy and for every little quiet personal moment. I literally cannot open the book without feeling overwhelmed with love and without needing to absolutely bury my sweet boy in kisses.
Great gift for New Parents.......2003-08-19
I purchased this book on the recommendation of a friend. I gave it to my son and daughter-in-law before the birth of their first child. They were both thrilled with the book and, in turn, purchased it for a couple they knew were having a child. It is a soothing and magical must read. It is relaxing and thought provoking. It reminds us of what is truly important in this life and the great blessing we can experience with the celebration of life. It is one of those rare finds that you never tire of and with each re-read, you smile again and say "Ah, yes". Eleanor Manning, Author, Voices.
Beautiful Gift Book Captures the Richness of Babyhood.......2003-07-21
I bought this book for myself and keep buying copies for gifts-for a sister-in-law who's a new mom, for my mother, my children's pediatrician, one for my obstetrician, and additional copies for dear friends who are mothers. The book is lovely and its subject timeless--a perfect little gift.
I've come to expect a lot from June Cotner's anthologies, and the quality of writing found in BABY BLESSINGS is no exception to her other rich and delightful compilations. This one captures every stage of babyhood from every vantage point and is my favorite of all, perhaps because BABY BLESSINGS is enhanced by a particularly endearing cover, the photograph of an adorable unclothed baby with the David Beckham hair!
It's all here........2003-07-12
I didn't expect to sit down and read this book from cover to cover, but I did. I am often skeptical about books that claim to be inspiring, but I was impressed. From the poem PREGNANCY to YOU-AND-I, NURSING to NORMAL CHANGES, I was connecting with everything I cherish about being a mother. The selected poems and writings will touch every mother-to-be and serve as a heartfelt reminder to those of us who remember the early days with our babies. No matter the age of our children, the love and hope we hold for them remains and this collection is a reflection of that love and hope. I must quickly finish this review so I can re-read Baby Blessings! (p.s. Every mother - new or not-so-new - would treasure this collection.)

Customer Reviews:
Better than any other baby record book.......2007-05-21
I was completely happy with this book. The description and other reviews were right on target. Highly recommended
Good baby book.......2007-01-04
With the acception of no slots for the ultrasound the book is really good.
An absolutely GORGEOUS baby book!.......2005-11-02
This is by far the loveliest baby book I've seen. I've looked in many shops in Australia and none of the books compare to this one.
It comes in a gorgeous box that will protect the book. It's got a lovely padded cover and it has all the important pages for documenting your childs first five years.
I love the family tree and the illustrations throughout the book are absolutely gorgeous. There are plenty of places to add photos too.
I thoroughly recommend this book to everyone.
The best baby book I've found!.......2002-08-13
I looked at so many baby books before my twins were born, and this was hands-down the most darling and complete book out there! The book follows your child's first five years, but focuses most attention on the first--footprints, first words, places for photos of all kinds, a sweet little layout for recording their growth, and adorable illustrations. I was so impressed with the quality, content, and layout of this book--enough to be thoroughly disappointed with the Anne Geddes I purchased after reading rave reviews. I also liked the padded cover and little protective cover-box it comes in. You will love this sweet little book!
