Book Description
In Living in the Light, Shakti Gawain introduced a powerful new way of life: that of listening to one's own intuition and relying on it as a guiding force. In the newly revised edition of that classic work, she elaborates on her original ideas, adding aspects of her own experiences and learning process over the past twelve years. In addition to balancing feminine and masculine energies, she now examines several other fundamental polarities we all have, such as power and vulnerability. Everyone's life journey involves developing the full range of self and acknowledging all aspects of one's personality — including both light facets and dark.

the key to self knowledge is in this book.......2007-09-02
.
The lessons in the book, as I see them, are following your intuition; learning who you really are, and the aspects of your personality that are holding you back.
Self-knowledge is vital to success in life and this book helps you begin to learn who you are, truly; Not who you think you are.
Too good to send to the used book store.......2007-07-14
I was just going through my old books and about to take the two copies I have of this book to the used book store but I reread it and am keeping it and giving the other to a friend.
Too bad that there wasn't all the hoopla of the movie "The Secret" going on back when she wrote this. She was way ahead of everyone else.
My favorite chapters are on the "Tyrant and Rebel" and the "Victim and Rescuer".
The more personal growth work I do and the more aware I become and work on my own issues of tyrant, rebel, victim and rescuer, the more I see that there is some of each in everyone whether they want to realize it or not!
I read the 1986 edition and am tempted to get the newer one to see if it's changed much.
The Light.......2007-05-27
Gawain offers a lot of food for thought. There are many criticisms of her work and this type of thinking. I think if a reader goes into this work with an open mind they can come out with something useful. It is fairly fast to read so there is little time investment compared to the potential reward.
a book to keep by your bed.......2007-05-13
I find that over the last twenty years or so, I read this book over and over. Mine is literally falling apart. Some reviewers have said that this book is just New Age sentimentality, and I can see why some might say that, but in another way, it's a really tough book. It simply says, unequivocably, that you must be honest: with yourself and others. This is pretty radical really, and very difficult.
Here's another way that this book is the opposite of sentimental: Shakti Gawain does not paper over the fact that being honest with yourself and other people can sometimes appear to backfire, in the short run. She tells the reader straight out that relationships may fall apart as a result, or your life may appear to be falling apart when you put these principles into practice. But in the long run, she says, it's better for everybody.
Like another reviewer, I have trouble with Shakti Gawain's idea that "the world is our mirror." That is the idea that, if something bad happens to me, I must have unconsciously created it. One of her examples is indeed that of a rape victim. Surely the rapist himself bears a great deal of responsibility for such a heinous act. Also, what about children who are abused? Can they in any sense have "created" their own abuse?
Nevertheless, sometimes when I look at other people's lives, it is pretty clear to me the way in which they created their own problems, usually, as Gawain says, by not being honest with themselves or others. So perhaps this is more true of my life too than I realize. It is often difficult to see the ways in which we are messing up our own lives! But this book can help.
Too Convenient.......2006-11-15
I liked this book when I was younger, but in rereading it at age 43, I find it hard to trust. Shakti is certainly a humble author who is still searching (rather than resting on her past "discoveries"), but some of her ideas seem to be nothing more than convenient personal inventions. For example, she suggests that anyone we are in conflict with is simply a manifestation of an internal conflict that we have externalized in order to resolve. I find this theory offensive in its tidy resolution of the question of suffering. Would she really tell rape victims or abused children that they had manifested their perpetrators to resolve an inner conflict?
I gave her 3 rather than 2 stars due to her deference to 12-step programs.

Customer Reviews:
best book i've ever read.......2007-04-20
On September 17, 1978, Dannion Brinkley was electrocuted through his telephone while talking to his friend Tom and was instantly dead. 28 minutes later he was revived in the morgue. And had a life story to tell the world.
As i was reading this book i was drawn to it due to all of the premonitions Dannion Brinkley had made. Everything that Dannion had said came true. he was right about demoralized countries, strife and hatred in the holy lands, nuclear destruction, enviromental religion, China and Russia battling, economic earthquakes and desert storm, technology of the new age and viruses, and biological warfare.
Dannion became a very spiritual person after meeting with the Higher Beings. He had a mission in life, and his mission in life was to make spiritual centers for people around the world. This was the best book i've ever read and i do not normally read. It took alot for me to finish this book, so in my mind if a book can keep me interested than it is good to me.
A source of great comfort.......2007-04-13
It takes a very special kind of book for me to want to read something that I've already read, but "Saved By the Light" was, and remains, quite the exception.
I read this book in the mid-1990s at a very down point in my life: I was freshly graduated from high school and had absolutely zero idea what was going on in my life, let alone know what I wanted to do with it. I had just completed 13 years of Catholic school (K-12) and I wanted to find a spiritual, as opposed to religious, path for my life. I wanted to think for myself as opposed to reciting and believing what other people told me to say and believe my entire life, and I was not satisfied with organized religious dogma in the least.
I got quite the shock when I read Dannion's debut book for the first time, mostly because it shattered everything I had ever been taught - and more.
I had always believed in an afterlife from an early age, but I had a hard time digesting the fire and brimstone scenario painted by organized religion (especially by some Protestant denominations!). Dannion's experience not only proved there *is* life after death, but that it's not the work of the "devil" or evil spirits (which, in and of itself, is one of the most ignorant things I've ever read and/or heard.) It's not about being "judged" for every little wrong (or "sin") you committed in your earthly life, nor is it about being an angel with wings and a halo, playing the harp on clouds.
Instead, Dannion's experience really made me think about the way I treat other people, hence having to face that life review - where you experience what the other person was feeling and where you judge yourself. That made a lot more sense to me than being told that, because I was human, that I was full of "sin" and destined to make tons of mistakes along the way. But, despite that I'm not perfect, I had only one lifetime to get everything right and, if I didn't, I was going to burn in this horrible place forever. (And then people wonder why so many folks are walking around with inferiority complexes these days!)
Dannion's afterlife journey gave me great comfort. I can't really fully explain the feelings his book brought to light within me (just as he couldn't put words to some of the feelings he felt during his NDE - near-death experience), but the vast majority of what he conveyed in his book just rang true with me. The majority of the book was one "a-ha!" moment after the other.
"Saved By the Light" started me on a quest at my local library to read nearly every book they had on the topics of NDEs and spirit communication. I'm fascinated by the fact that the veil between the spiritual and material worlds gets thinner every day it seems. I'm also fascinated by the almost exact details that people around the world have had during their NDEs and the fact that it gets harder for the naysayers to discredit the myriad of peoples' NDEs as being either "mass psychosis" or "dreams." (If that's the case, then people from all over the world have done a great job of giving almost exact details of NDEs, and that's a hell of a feat considering those people don't even know each other.)
In all, it was refreshing to see someone like Dannion, who was so involved with US intelligence and who murdered in the name of "patriotism" see the error of his ways firsthand and now make a positive difference for people. One can't help but notice the glow in his author picture on the back inside of the dust jacket.
But, despite his past, his book was the first book that I ever read in my life that truly made a difference in my thinking and how I acted. Thanks for sharing your amazing story, Dannion! - Donna Di Giacomo
incredible story.......2007-03-04
What if the meanest and most hatefull bully from high school had a terrible accident and suffered horribly for many years in the flesh to pay for his bad actions? What if, with that, he gained incredible knowledge from heaven, great spiritual gifts, had a second chance and became one the kindest persons you know?
That's the story you will find in the book. There are also some interesting prophecies he makes in the book based on the information he supposedly gained in the other side, but quite frankly that was of a lesser interest to me.
indepth.......2007-02-02
I believe this book is worth reading for anyone. It gives anyone who wonders if there is something beyond death or those who worry about death a great deal of faith to not be scared of it. It gives great account of dannion brinkleys near death expiriences and also tells about many other cases of near death. Great book , i suggest ever one read this book.
Best Near-Death Experience Report I've Ever Read.......2006-11-14
I have read many first-person accounts of near-death experiences. And Dannion Brinkley's is by far the most complete, both because he spent a longer time out of his body than most and because his NDE caused a profound change in his personality and, therefore, a 180-degree turnaround in his behavior toward others. His description of the life review he conducted on his first 28 years of physical existence was a true "ahah" moment for me.
Brinkley describes an intense review which awaits us all, conducted by the Spirit Self we are and not a father sky-god on a throne before us. He tells us we will feel the happiness and love we have given to some during our physical journey, as well as the pain we have inflicted upon others. No reward of an eternal heaven for the "good" among us. No reward of an eternal hell for the "evil." But an opportunity to truly "reap what we've sown" as we feel the emotions of souls whose physical lives have been touched by ours. A must-read for everyone who yearns for a peek at what awaits us after we've discarded our bodies. Especially instructive for those who have rejected Christianity's fear-based heaven/hell doctines but have nothing with which to replace those rejected teachings.

Book Description
A complete and balanced account of communication theory, providing an understanding of both Fourier analysis (and the concepts associated with linear systems) and the characterization of such systems by mathematical operators. Presents applications of the theories to the diffraction of optical wave-fields and the analysis of image-forming systems. Emphasizes a strong mathematical foundation and includes an in-depth consideration of the phenomena of diffraction. Combines all theories to describe the image-forming process in terms of a linear filtering operation for both coherent and incoherent imaging. Chapters provide carefully designed sets of problems. Also includes extensive tables of properties and pairs of Fourier transforms and Hankle Transforms.
Customer Reviews:
A clear and complete book on linear systems as well as optics.......2006-12-24
This book is a textbook on linear systems, Fourier analysis, diffraction theory, and image formation. It is not a textbook on Fourier optics, but was intended to helps students with the basics before attempting that subject. This book might also be helpful to students that are studying linear systems theory or image processing alone and need an additional reference. There are problems at the end of each chapter, and the problems include both numerical calculations and derivations. No solutions to the problems are included. Numerous examples are shown with complete steps. Some examples are numerical, and many are not. Minus the optical material, I had already seen the rest of the material in the book before I used it, so perhaps I am not the best judge of how complete a textbook it was, but to me it seemed very complete and clear. Unlike many similar textbooks, the author did not assume much about the reader's background other than the Calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra that you would expect any graduate engineering student to have already mastered. I definitely recommend going through it or having access to it before you enroll in a class on Fourier optics.
Chapter 2 presents an elementary review of various properties and classes of mathematical functons, as well as a description of the manner in which these functions represent physical quantities. Chapter 3 introduces a number of special functions that are of great use in later chapters. In particular the rectangle function, the sinc function, the delta function, and the comb function are very useful. Also, several special functions of two variables are described. In Chapter 4 the fundamentals of harmonic analysis are explored as well as how various arbitrary functions may be represented by linear combinations of other more elementary functions. Chapter 5 discusses the physical systems in term of linear operators, and the notions of linearity and shift invariance are introduced. Next, the impulse response function, the transfer function, and the eigenfunctions associated with linear shift-invariant systems are discussed. Chapter 6 is devoted to studies of the convolution, cross-correlation, and autocorrelation operations. The properties of these operations are explored in considerable depth. The fact that the output of a linear shift-invariant system is given by the convolution of the input with the impulse response of the system is derived and explored.
In Chapter 7 the properties of the Fourier transformation is investigated, as well as the importance of this transform in the analysis of linear shift-invariant systems. In chapter 8 the characteristics of various types of linear filters are described. Their applications in various types of signal processing and recovery is discussed. Also discussed is the matched-filter problem and the various interpretations of the sampling theory.
Chapter 9 extends the previous material on one-dimensional systems to two dimensions. In particular, an investigation of convolution and Fourier transformation in two dimensions is conducted, and the Hankel transform and its properties are studied. Also, the line response and edge response functions are introduced. In chapter 10 the propagation and diffraction of optical wave fields in both the Fresnel and Fraunhofer regions is explored. Also studied are the effects of lenses on the diffraction process. Special attention is paid to the curious properties of Gaussian beams in the last section of the chapter.
Finally, in Chapter 11, the concepts of linear systems and Fourier analysis are combined with the theory of diffraction to describe the process of image formation in terms of a linear filtering operation. This is done for both coherent and incoherent imaging, and the corresponding impulse response functions and and transfer functions are discussed in detail.
Several special functions are tabulated in the first appendix for those with little or no previous training in optics, and the fundamentals of geometrical image formation and abberations are presented in the second appendix.
Lifesaver.......2000-09-10
If you want to survive a first year graduate class on Fourier Optics, get this book. Gaskill is precise and comprehensive, presenting concepts incrementally with ample diagrams to illustrate all along the way. I've got Goodman and Bracewell on my shelf, but it's Gaskill's that's saving my life this semester.
Well written and complete.......2000-04-29
I consider Gaskill's book to be the best I've seen for advanced undergraduate and first-year graduate classes on linear systems. Gaskill approaches the subject in a clear and understandable style while dealing with the subject in a complete and quantitative manner. Though he does not eschew mathematical rigor by any means, the text is well written and logically formatted, making it refreshingly easy to follow what is, in other texts, a more difficult subject. Though I've filed Gaskill's book in my library alongside other dealing with optics, this is primarily a book on mathematics, but written more for engineers and scientists than for mathematicians.
After a brief introduction, the author begins (in chapter 2) with a quick summary of mathematical concepts, including classes of functions, one and two-dimensional functions, complex numbers, phasors, and the scalar wave equation.
The third chapter introduces useful functions (many of a discontinuous nature) that find application in modeling linear systems. These include step functions and the impulse function in both one and two dimensions. Development of these functions follows an intuitive path that reflects the way in which they are often used. The many figures are particularly useful in conveying concepts more effectively.
Chapter four develops the theme of harmonic analysis by introducing the notion of orthogonal expansions and extending this development to the Fourier series, leading to development of the Fourier integral. The chapter finishes with some worked examples showing the spectra of simple functions. Chapter 7 seems a little out of place, since it deals with the Fourier transform, yet appears in the book several chapters later, after the author introduces the concepts of linear systems and the convolution.
Though one of the shorter chapters, chapter five is pivotal, and develops the idea of mathematical operators and physical systems - with the crucial development of the impulse response. The application of the impulse response is extended by chapter 6, which develops the mathematics of convolution. For a linear, shift-invariant system the impulse response convolved with the input to the system gives the system's output.
Chapter 8 pulls together the material in the previous chapters to mathematically describe the characteristics and applications of linear filters. Examples include amplitude filters, phase filters, combination amplitude and phase filters, and some interesting applications showing (for example) how to filter the noise from a signal of interest. All this development is strictly mathematical, with no real-world worked examples (except in the abstract). Nevertheless, this chapter is very useful and (in the author's style) easy to understand and follow.
Chapter 9 deals with two-dimensional convolutions and the two-dimensional Fourier transform. This chapter is essentially an extension of the earlier one-dimensional developments in earlier chapters, but introduces some useful mathematical tools, including the convolution and Fourier transform in polar coordinates. The Hankel transform, developed in this chapter, is particularly useful for work in optics where many examples (laser beams, for instance) exhibit circular symmetry. In these examples the two-dimensional integrals may be greatly simplified by the Hankel transform to a one-dimensional form where (even in the absence of a closed-form equation) they are far more tractable. The chapter concludes with useful tables of common transforms.
Chapter 10 leaves the almost purely mathematical forum of the previous chapters by introducing the subject of propagation and diffraction of optical waves. Gaskill first develops the mathematics of the optical waves and then derives the equations that show how these waves are diffracted. Not surprisingly, the diffraction fields are expressible in terms of the transforms developed earlier in the book. The chapter also describes the influence of optical lenses on the diffraction patterns and the very important subject of propagation of Gaussian beams (since many laser beams, and the fundamental mode in weakly guiding optical fibers have Gaussian profiles).
Chapter 11 continues the optical theme by explaining image-forming systems. The student will be particularly enabled in this chapter if he or she has had prior exposure to the subject of diffraction and perhaps some exposure to the idea of image aberrations. The book ends with appendix 1, on special functions, and appendix 2, on elementary geometric optics. Each chapter has a list of references, and problems for the student, and the book has a complete index making it useful as a desk references book as well as a textbook for advanced undergraduate and first-year graduate coursework.
Gaskill's book is mathematically intense, but the author's style and frequent use of figures makes the book surprisingly easy to read. Prerequisites for this book should include a couple of years of calculus, differential equations, and a smattering of linear algebra. Some exposure to concepts in optics, including diffraction and aberrations would also be helpful.
Gaskill's book will be helpful far beyond optics, with applications in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, digital image processing, or anywhere else that linear systems might be encountered.
The best, practical book for this subject........1998-12-26
Jack Gaskill and his book is the most practical book on this subject. His examples and explainations are straightforeword and organized.

Book Description
In At Peace in the Light, Dannion Brinkley continues his unique spiritual exploration that began in his phenomenal national bestseller, Saved by the Light, where he revealed the two near-death experiences that left him with an extraordinary sense of perception. Here Brinkley describes, with absolute candor, his struggle to become accustomed to his disorienting psychic ability, and his decision to offer comfort to those dying in hospices. In his poignant and personal style, Dannion shares heartwarming stories of his ability to give comfort where it is needed, and demonstrates that the dying often have enhanced psychic ability and a clarity of vision that can make death more graceful for everyone involved. He also shares lessons in achieving what he calls the panoramic life review, and instructs readers on awakening and enhancing their own skills of perception, while providing the language to deal with their own and their loved ones' mortality. For the hundreds of thousands who found comfort and understanding in Saved by the Light, here is Dannion Brinkley's new message of inspiration, guidance, and the unlimited opportunity for spiritual growth and renewal.
Customer Reviews:
Great Follow-up to his First Book! .......2006-09-22
Brinkley takes us a little further along on his life journey with more messages for life. His stories and insights are both entertaining as well as inspirational.
I suggest that you read his first book before this one so you have a better understanding of where he has come from and what happened to change his life.
Not very good.......2005-10-09
Repetitive and largely pointless. Not well written. Apparently the author's spell-checker malfunctioned too.
Dannion's Excellent Sequel, but Caution: Non-Biblical themes.......2004-10-10
"When thirteen Beings of Light tell you to do something, it is hard to say no." (Page 157, "At Peace in the Light," in which Brinkley answers his critics regarding his plans to build stress reduction "The Centers." Also a very funny quote!)
Dannion Brinkley writes an excellent follow-up on his hit best seller regarding his two NDE's (near death experiences). This is the fellow who was struck by lightening , clinically dead for 28 minutes before being revived, met by a "Spirit Being" both times he died, and received subsequent visions from these "Beings of Light" regarding the creation of his stress reduction "centers."
Click on the link to "see all my reviews" for my take on his *first* book. Interestingly, he appeared to use very few direct quotes from the original book, choosing instead to rephrase descriptions previously written about. For example, Brinkley quotes Dr. Raymond Moody on both page 183 of "Saved by the Light" and also on page 168 of "At Peace in the Light" as follows: "You don't have to die," he said. "Stay for me. I need your help." Very original!
He masterfully uses a brief, well-written forward by James Redfield, another expert in the field. Brinkley co-wrote his riveting sequel with talented author, Paul Perry (who also co-wrote with him on his first book). Also interesting: He only waited about a year after completion of his first book to finish his second.
Brinkley, now himself a talented author, again discusses the boxes of knowledge, leaving some future predictions for your review. Working with both average citizens and those dying in a hospice setting, he brings home the themes of:
* Control of our lives to make a positive change for the future;
* A spiritual evolution, in which we understand that what we do to others affects us deeply (Christians will recognize this as the "law of sowing and reaping");
* His desire to dispel all fear of death is a key motive in his writing of these book; and, lastly,
* Brinkley shares my views on alternative medicine, particularity testifying to the healing powers of chiropractic (which has also proved useful for me).
He adds an account of how he felt useless and used, merely using his talent to help gambling friends win at the horse races or on bets on sports events! (Masterful and compelling.) A family friend, whose father had been a slave, was dying and came to see him. This was touching and a contrast to his other "so called" friends.
Let me repeat a few key points you may have missed up until this review:
I view Brinkley as a credible and believable psychic: My research was unable to uncover any independent testimony to discredit or call into question his sweeping claims that he was able to see into the private lives of people by merely touching them.
This true ability is not unlike that of the late Rev. Roland buck, whose claims that he got messages from Angels of God about peoples' private lives has NOT been refuted or discounted, even roughly twenty-five (25) years after publication of "Angels on Assignment," the classic book, in which Charles and Frances Hunter took down the testimony of Pastor Buck, an aging pastor who wasn't trying to write any book or turn a dollar. (I highly recommend "Angels on Assignment.")
Brinkley again mentions religion. However, as in the first book, red flags go up, which should be of interest to the Judeo-Christian reader:
* In his sequel, here, Brinkley continues to omit any mention of Jesus' role in all of this, supporting previous claims that there are many paths to righteousness, on page 202 of his first book.
* Again, he doesn't even touch on the topic of Hell, which is certainly mentioned in both the Old and New Testament Bible.
* He repeats his themes of leaving the body, assuring a visiting Japanese journalist that it is "quite normal." (Page 176; She gets the shock of her life!)
* Use of "necromanteums" (page 172), where people make contact with the dead.
Christian readers should know that magical arts, which author espouses, are strictly forbidden: Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 19:26, as is "necromancy," that is, the speaking to the dead: Deuteronomy 18:11. Could the "Beings of Light" be fallen angels, demons masquerading as God's Holy Angels? "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." (2nd Corinthians 11:14-15)
As with his first book, which I also reviewed, I can not in good conscience give it the top rating of five stars for these reasons, but I still consider it among the few books among the "required reading" category, not only because he probably really saw something, but, and let me emphasize, I feel that his heart is right and pure, and many of the things he says are true, and VERY beneficial (not to mention outright fascinating!).
However, for a more balanced approach to the dark side of the Spirit World, I also recommend "The Beautiful Side of Evil," in which Johanna Michaelsen writes in this reliable perennial, equally a classic, her experiences with leaving her body under the influence of evil spirits and the journey back home to rid herself of the occult and witchcraft. Also, read your Bible, separating truth from fiction, to keep from going astray and overextending yourself, in the same way drug users and thieves must later "pay the piper" for that initial, but forbidden, thrill.
I highly recommend Dannion Brinkley's book, and extend my good will towards him for his momentous effort and fervent concern for his fellow man.
finally beleiving in something.......2004-05-25
as a beleiver in only myself to change my life and suffer all the consequenses of all my own actions, this book confirmed what i already thought about most things in life, or at least hoped. i knew this life here was a test, to see if we can struggle and overcome saddness and pain and still come out positive, not scorned, not miserable, but wiser and stonger. i knew it couldnt get worse than this, here on earth.i learned of the review of your life you have upon dying and have deceided you must see that first so you can see what and how you were at that moment, so you can feel truly sorry or humility or embarresed, or ashamed at your actions or words, you get to feel what pain or sadness you caused others although not realizing it at that particular moment, and feel deeply sorry.not untill then will you go to the next level. you actually judge yourself. thats why its so important to be a good loving person,to treat people as you want to be treated, you get what you give,to realize the only thing that really matters is leaving this earth with the feeling of being loved, its the only thing you can take with you. asnd every one you loved will be waiting on the other side happy healthy and ready for a new journey. infinity. i like dannion cant wait to get there.no more fear of the unknown, no more worrying about forcing myself to beleive in god or i wont go to heaven.i have faith in myself and my actions i make in this screwed up world, and hope they are right and learn from them if there not.keeping hatred and negativity far away.
Perceptions on LIFE.......2003-11-24
Reading about near death experiences alters my life in that I have a deep sense of peace and I now know what is truly valuable in life. It also teaches me that every one has different opinions and are entitled to express them without ridicule. Knowledge is one aspect of life that is important. Therefore, I must add that reincarnation WAS in the Bible, but the church took it out because it did not have as much control over the people. There are still subtle references contained within as any extensive scholar of the Bible could attest to. If it was perceived as it was meant to be.

Book Description
The discovery of the Fractional Fourier Transform and its role in optics and data management provides an elegant mathematical framework within which to discuss diffraction and other fundamental aspects of optical systems. This book explains how the fractional Fourier transform has allowed the generalization of the Fourier transform and the notion of the frequency transform. It will serve as the standard reference on Fourier transforms for many years to come.
Customer Reviews:
I am smarter now.......2003-05-22
I am an optical engineering student and felt that this book was quite understandable (although I read the optics back half first, which then motivated the mathematical front half for me). It gave me additional insight into the Fourier transform as well as the applications of Fourier analysis in optics. I also learned as much on optics from this book as I have from any dedicated optics book. It has so many jewels that other books don't have that I wish I was rich enough to own a copy rather than having to check it out from the library.
The aspects of signals and systems in Fractional domains.......2001-04-19
From my point of view as a deeply intested reader of the book, this book is an excellent source book for those who want to increase his/her knowledge on concepts of signals and sytems. It is a comprehensive study on the signal and system representation in generalized frequency domains with very useful applications in different era of electrical engineering. Starting with a general representation theory and then focusing on time-frequency representations, the book prepares the reader for the novel generalized Fourier trasnform. In this new world, the traditional frequency domain is no more than a special condition. Thus, in any application that Fourier transform can be used, the FrFT lends itself to a variety of applications including image restoration, denoising, optical wave propogation, filtering, quantum mechanics, information theory etc., generally as an optimization problem over a contiuum of frequency domains. You should read this book if you are a EE. Thanks to the authors.
Excellent reference on Fractional Fourier Transforms.......2001-03-16
This is a delightful reference book on the Fractional Fourier Transform. The authors did a great job explaining systems theory leading up to a thorough treatment of the Fractional Fourier Transform and other fractional transforms. Plenty of references are cited leading the reader to a rich source of background and follow-up material. Later chapters delve into suggested applications which complete a rather pleasing read of the entire subject. Buy this book.

Customer Reviews:
Your journey to find true healing ends here!.......2006-08-19
Codes of Light provides an accessible explanation on how negative emotions wreak havoc on our bodies. True healing is found as toxic emotions are released and the body's energies become free to self-heal. I have used some of the crystal elixirs detaled in the book - they are amazing! Memories are gently brought back into my consciousness; I can then access the related emotions and release them.
I love that Paula included pictures of Crystal Layouts. This alone is worth the price! I use the layouts to help release negative patterns and bring life affirmative energy back into my being. The book goes everywhere with me and I find myself turning to it often.
After years of healing dead ends, I am finally on the road to health. But, more than that, I am coming home to my soul, I am in touch with my energetic body and I am becoming aware of my place in the universe. Codes of Light is a must read for those intent on healing their life.
Wonderful.......2006-04-04
I read this book and promptly bought it for my siblings. It is a fascinating account of a spiritual journey, an awakening to a higher self, and the travails therein. This transition can occur in each of us and in this book Paula Muran is providing a true road map to show us how. I have used many of the sprays and elixirs described inside and, I can tell you, they are transformative. My dreaming state is very active, as I am peeling away layers of negative belief patterns on a cellular level. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
Look into this book and be healed.
Ready to have the life you've always wanted?.......2006-03-05
My shelves are stocked with a wide and extensive collection of theological, philosphical and metaphysical books...this volume lifts as one of the most transformative. In direct and accessible language, Paula Muran, with Sunat Kumara, provides a manual of how to heal and live in the Divine stream of deservedness, truth and light . This book is for you if you desire to live with more Love and abundance!
Codes of Light: The Power of Our Beliefs.......2006-02-18
"I began reading Codes of Light one evening while sitting in bed. That evening I felt a tremendous shift in energy, and a greater sense of inner peace. Afterwards, I set the book down next to me and fell asleep. In the morning I woke up energized, with a renewed spirit, and at peace."
"Simply holding Codes of Light in my hands was relaxing........2006-02-15
"As soon as I picked up Codes of Light I felt a connection to it. I didn't want to stop reading because that would halt my healing introspective journey. Having Codes of Light in my hands was relaxing and much more than just holding a book. I was fascinated by the crystals and look forward to continued learning."
