Book Description
In this provocative book, Margaret Heffernan, former CEO and Fast Company contributor, fuses her own experience with that of hundreds of women to identify the biggest challenges and the best solutions that women face today. From VPs of Fortune 100 companies to entrepreneurs to women just starting their careers, she traces the patterns and themes underlying women's power, choices, love, sex, money, and many other vital topics for working women. Without sugar-coating the facts, preaching, or oversimplifying, she offers solutions and shares the truth about the working world: women's choices are limited, you can't have it all, women do work differently from men and, yes, it is possible to find success amidst all of this and feel good about it.
"Finally! A book that exposes the masculine myths about what it takes to be effective in business and helps women reclaim the relational intelligence we have been taught to ignore. A must-read for all women who want to increase their power and influence in the workplace—especially those who are thinking of leaving because they are tired of the corporate gamesmanship that requires splitting themselves into a 'work me' and a 'home me.'"

It isn't just you!.......2005-08-02
I thought this book was great and loaned it to a few friends who have also like it. The most important message in the book for many people will be the fact that "it isn't just you." One friend commented that she felt the entire book was telling her story, helping her understand that what had been happening to her in the workplace was not about her as an individual but reflected a culture that was steeped in old biases.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in how many women are perceived and treated in the workplace.
Highly Recommended!.......2005-04-18
Author and executive Margaret Heffernan fearlessly declares that decades of advice telling business women to act like men, follow traditional rules and cleave to heartless stereotypes are wrong. Breathe a sigh of relief. It's not you; "It's the system, stupid!" In her eyes, the business world inherently does not welcome, respect or value women. Refreshingly, instead of blaming women, the author conveys the advice of hundreds of female survey respondents who say men hold the aces in the business world and don't want to share. Honest, funny and sometimes disconcerting, she offers advice, inspiring examples and helpful stories. She explains how to find or create a humane, cooperative, supportive workplace that fits your principles - and how to make a realistic appraisal if you are at the change-it-or-quit stage. The one shortcoming is the author's absolute unstated assumption that women are innately, inevitably more cooperative, honest and caring than men. This stereotype is a two-edged sword, wounding those men who do have sound values, and reinforcing the typecasting that women ought to be sweet and nurturing because it's in their genes. That aside, we recommend Heffernan's clear view of the hurdles that block a woman's path to business success and work-life balance. She confronts painful realities and adapts them, or adapts to them, even if in nontraditional ways. If you have to be one person at work and someone different at home, her dynamic vision can help you pull it all together.
The ugly truth about gender relations in the office.......2005-01-22
Margaret Heffernan has never been afraid to talk about the ugliness that can happen for women in Corporate America. Her new book is no different. It brings up almost every important issue for women trying to climb the traditional corporate ladder. In some cases she offers solutions, either from her own experience and research, or through the shared stories of women she interviewed for the book.
Two things in particular in the book stuck with me. In one section she discusses women and their "relationship" with work. I really liked the use of that word, "relationship." Because I do have a relationship with my work, just like I have a relationship with the people in my life or with money. (I had never really thought about it in that way before.) The second item that struck me was after I read one woman's description of something very sexist that happened in the workplace, I expected the next line to say, "that was ten years ago." Instead, the line was "that was in 2004." I think we need reminding that not everything has changed, and in fact, anything going on now is even worse than ten years ago, because it's 2005, and we all (including the boys) know better.
Tells it like it is!.......2005-01-14
Margaret doesn't sugarcoat the realities of being an executive female. But she's not on a rant, either, and provides plenty of upside and solid strategies. The Naked Truth is recommended reading for women on every rung on the ladder.
Muy Fantastic!!!.......2004-10-11
5 stars for certain and a must read for business women. My hat is off to margaret who speaks directly to issues and DOESN'T ask women to be more like men. She presents many different ideas - some her own and some presented by other women. Its wonderful to read a book that speaks to you and you feel involved in. Well done indeed.

Candida Royalle, maker of adult films with a woman's perspective and former porn actress, knows how to script, direct, and perform an erotic scene. In How to Tell a Naked Man What to Do, Royalle shows women how to create their own sexy scenarios (cameras optional). She describes how to present and playact a fantasy: creating the "script"; choosing locale, music, and décor; selecting wardrobe and sex toys; having "outercourse," and directing the man in his role. Though obviously aimed at women who wish to enhance their sex life, her suggestions are not as one-sided as the clever title might imply--she gives plenty of advice about playing out the man's fantasies, helping him feel comfortable using sex toys, communicating lovingly, and giving him great oral sex.
Royalle intersperses "Director's Notes," which are tips, cautions, and summaries of sexual information. Writing with humor, she warns readers about places not to make love: moving vehicle, woods (flies are attracted to perspiration), airplane bathroom. Although she promotes her own films overmuch, her tidbits about making porn films are entertaining, such as the behind-the-scenes reason that actresses keep their shoes on during sex--it's hard to keep their feet clean on the set! --Joan Price

Book Description
"Hillary Clinton Nude: Naked Ambition, Hillary Clinton and America's Demise" is a blockbuster literary exploration of the most controversial politician in America. Stripping away the veils of imagery which mask the imperfections of Hillary Rodham Clinton, "Hillary Clinton Nude" presents a non-partisan yet passionate case against a second Clinton presidency. Author Sheldon Filger has written a bombshell of a political book, conveying a warning to the American people of the dire risks to the nation's continuity should the former First Lady succeed in fulfilling her ultimate political ambition. More than just another Hillary Clinton book, "Hillary Clinton Nude" is a sobering commentary on the state of American politics in the new century, and the influence of money, image making and celebrity power in the debasement of meaningful political discussion in the United States. Democrats, Republicans and independent voters will discover much to reflect on in this incisive and revealing book. The 2008 presidential elections may be among the most decisive in America's post-war history. Do not go to the polls without arming yourself with the knowledge found in Sheldon Filger's incisive book, "Hillary Clinton Nude."

SOBERING WARNINGS.......2007-06-15
Sad, but true : Hillary Rodham is a menacing presence on the American political landscape; and so books like this serve as important warnings to all Americans, and to all freedom loving people on earth. This book, presented as fact, is strikingly similar to a book of fact-based fiction in that both are clearly intended as "warning calls" (or "sobering warnings") about Hillary; but the other book, entitled THE EMPRESS PROJECT, goes farther in its analysis and shows how a foreign power (Red China) is meddling covertly and dangerously in domestic American politics and using a home grown American citizen as its political "proxy". Is the message of THE EMPRESS PROJECT true? Is the message of this book by Sheldon Filger really factually correct? Maybe readers should read both, reflect on both, and draw their own conclusions.......The Empress Project
IS HILLARY ELECTABLE?.......2007-04-20
One of the main reasons that George W. Bush was elected president was because of the country's guilt that they had elected Bill Clinton instead of Bush Sr. It was the country's way of recognizing that they made a tragic mistake by voting for Bill Clinton. The election of Bill Clinton's wife would be a travesty for the country because it is so shamefully obvious that Hillary used her position as First Lady to justify her husband's shameful behavior and ran for Senator of NY just to position herself to run for President. The Clintons have no shame. I hope that the American people will not fall for them a second time. We need a true leader that will serve the American people well.

Essential insights, but with some weaknesses.......2007-01-01
Like another reviewer, I was contacted by author Sheldon Filger and invited to read and review "Hillary Clinton Nude." This is a valuable addition to the shelf of books about HRC. While it has a number of significant weaknesses, this volume also has significant strengths. It's up to the individual reader to decide how best to balance the two.
Perhaps paradoxically, "Hillary Clinton Nude" is both passionate and dispassionate: passionate in the strength of the language, in the author's commitment to his principles and beliefs, and in his conviction that the election of President Hillary Rodham Clinton would be an unmitigated disaster for the United States. At the same time, though, Filger is dispassionate in that he -- unlike many other writers on HRC -- is not a member of the fabled "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy." In fact, the vituperation Filger directs at Hillary is rivaled only by the scorn he directs at George W. Bush. "Hillary Clinton Nude" cannot, therefore, be dismissed as a GOP hit-piece or a brief on behalf of some other, competing, presidential candidate.
The author makes a persuasive case that lacking any demonstrable skills, training, opinions, or even basic understanding of the vital issues of economics and international relations, the only thing HRC can build a presidential campaign on is nostalgia for her husband's years in office. As Slick Willie's most attentive student, Hillary is mastering, Filger argues, the Clintonian Method of obfuscation, name-calling, smoke-and-mirrors, and (especially) a highly selective use of history, including but not limited to outright lies about facts, situations, and people.
Sheldon Filger is committed to setting the record straight, and so devotes considerable ink to laying out the facts about half-forgotten Clintonian scandals like the White House travel office firings, Hillary's commodities-futures windfall, Pardongate, and of course, Monica and impeachment. Of course, Filger thereby leaves himself open to the Clinton-defenders' time-tested charge that he is "obsessing over old news" while HRC herself is focused on the future. Given Filger's thesis of the importance of Clinton-nostalgia to HRC's own presidential hopes, however, I think he's done exactly the right thing.
As I said, however, this book also has a number of weaknesses. Some of them, I admit, are matters of taste. But there are substantive omissions as well.
For one thing, Filger's prose is, if not purple, certainly redolent of lavender: "Given the constellation of storm clouds gathering on the horizon of the new century, having a mediocre and politically ambitious megalomaniac figure making the key decisions of state is an alignment with catastrophe. It is also a rash gamble with history. If, indeed, the contemporary world resembles the apocalyptic dynamics that existed in the summer of 1914, then the admixture of nuclear armaments portents [sic] a cataclysm that will be vastly more devastating to humanity" (p. 179).
As another matter of taste, I wasn't thrilled by the cover illustration by Molly Crabapple. It makes it too easy for critics to dismiss the whole book as an unattractive hit piece while ignoring the substance within. Certainly, I'm not going to leave this just sitting around on my desk at work.
Among the substantive topics Filger doesn't address, one key one is Hillary's alleged "move to the center" in the Senate. It seems obvious that this is part of Clinton's decades-long effort to disguise her true radicalism, but it will also be a centerpiece of her presidential campaign. A discussion of this question would seem to be in order.
Most fundamentally, I did not come away from this book with a clear idea of whether Filger believes that, deep down in her soul, Hillary really *believes* in anything more than her own ambition. For the vital distinction, I've always believed, between Pudge and Ruffles (wish I could remember who coined those nicknames) is that whereas he is an opportunist with no firm beliefs, Hillary is a true ideological warrior.
Other writers, from Barbara Olsen to R.E. Tyrrell, have done great work tracing Hillary's growth as what Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn described as a "Christian Social Romantic." In this understanding, HRC's Methodist upbringing was filtered through the tactical genius of Saul Alinsky to create a person driven by a true spiritual fanaticism. I think this is the only real explanation for HRC's distinctive drive, her determination not just to confront, but ultimately to destroy, anyone who disagrees with her or opposes her utopian vision: she sees them, in a very real sense, as fundamentally, theologically, evil. I believe that this is the key to understanding Hillary Clinton. I'm not sure, though, whether Sheldon Filger agrees.
Finally, I need to point out that this book lacks footnotes, endnotes, bibliography, and index. Clearly a lot of research went into preparing this, but it is impossible for a reader to track the author's sources.
This is a quite long review because I appreciate the author's request for my opinion of his work. What Sheldon Filger has produced is a strong, well-argued, and unquestionably important book. With some work on what I consider the book's shortcomings, a second edition could easily warrant four or even five stars.
The One Indespensible Book on Hillary Rodham Clinton.......2006-12-01
Of all the many books on Hillary Clinton, pro and con, this is the one essential read on the aspiring presidential candidate for thinking people on both the Right and Left. Devastatingly critical of Hillary Clinton, but without an ideological axe to grind, Sheldon Filger skillfully presents a case against another Clinton presidential administration that defies partisanship. Thoroughly researched and convincingly written, the author goes beyond the usual critique of Hillary. He identifies the critical challenges that America will confront in the next decade, than proceeds with an ironclad case as to why Hillary Clinton is intellectually and experientially ill equipped to provide the quality of leadership America must have in its next president. Reading like a thriller, this book presents a chilling scenario for America's future should Hillary Clinton be elected as president. Every thinking person, irrespective of their party affiliation, will find Filger's book a sobering and thought-provoking overview of what is at stake in the 2008 election.
A Thoughtful Look at a Serious Subject .......2006-11-08
In the interests of full disclosure, I was sent a copy of this book by the author and asked to review it. I'm glad he did becauise I probably would never have found it on my own. Books on Mrs. Clinton are plentiful. Some are hit pieces. Some are laudatory. This one is dispassionate and sobering.
Mr. Filger is no Right Wing writer (and therefore not a member of the vast Right Wing Conspiracy which was born from Mrs. Clinton's mouth in defense of her husband's filanderings).
One only has to read his take on the decision to go to war in Iraq and the execution of that war to understand that. George W. Bush, Richard Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are fully filigreed by Mr. Filger concerning their involvement in what he clearly considers was an egregous error... "America's invasion of Iraq in 2003 was anchored in neocon delusions. Born of the ambition of a reckless and ignorant man, under the influence of a narrow minded clique of bloodthirsty noncombatants and propelled by outright deception of the American people, the enterprise was doomed to failure." Is that plain enough for you?
Filger then goes on to show how Mrs. Clinton manuvered herself to be in support of the war for political reasons and how she has since that time somewhat inartfully tried to extract herself from that position.
Chapter and verse follow which trace Mrs. Clintons attitudes, deceptions, duplicity and ambition. It is sobering and it is delivered in such a way that one has no doubt as to it's veracity. Likewise sobering is his warning that if Mrs. Clinton's political ambitions triumph, the demise of America is assurred.
His final warning is chilling..."Should the American people in their rightousness render a decision in 2008 that reverses the pattern of the past twenty years, renewal and revival await a long-suffering nation. If however, the people fail to exercise their constitutional and civic duty at the ballot boxes with discretion and wisdom, thus allowing Hillary Rodham Clinton to triumph, only ruination and national demise can follow in her wake."
It will be worth your time to see how the author arrives at this conclusion. You may agree with it or not, however he will make you think about the matter seriously. As we all should.
Post Script: I would have preferred a different title and a different cover. This is a serious book which appears somewhat frivilous in it's appearance. Just my opinion.
Book Description
Internationally bestselling author and world-famous human behaviorist Desmond Morris turns his attention to the female form, taking the reader on a guided tour of the female body from head to toe. Highlighting the evolutionary functions of various physiological traits, Morris's study explores the various forms of enhancement and constraint that human societies have developed in the quest for the perfect female form. This is very much vintage Desmond Morris, delivered in his trademark voice: direct, clear, focused, and communicating what is often complex detail in simple language. In THE NAKED WOMAN, Desmond builds on his unrivalled experience as an observer of the human animal while tackling one of his most fascinating and challenging subjects to date.

Our Humanity.......2007-09-06
As a person brainwashed by catholicism's negative thought on women and sex, this book was refreshing. It broadened my understanding of myself, of women and of humans as unique species.
Insightful and 'ah ha!' provoking.......2007-09-05
This book is a fascinating look at the origins of the numerous aspects the modern female physical state tends to mimic. Morris moves quite literally from head to toe explaining how attractiveness and beauty have come to be considered what they are today, and why it is that the modern female has been physically and psychologically shaped by her ancestral biology and by social trends to wish appear the way she does. A 'must read' for anyone interested in the idiosyncrasies of what makes the female to be considered attractive and/or those with a fascination of how biology shapes who and how we are in our day and age.
Fascinating look at the most fascinating creature.......2007-08-20
Do these questions interest you...
How did mouth kissing among humans begin?
How unique in nature are all those female facial expressions?
Are teeth different in men and women and if so, why?
Which part of a woman is highly erotic in the East, but much less so in the West?
What is the least erotic body part of a woman?
What is the origin of an audience clapping their hands in applause?
How many women have more than two breasts and how many might they have?
How and why do women have strong sexual signals on both sides of their body?
What is really behind constant changes in modern female clothing styles?
If so, this is the book for you. Morris provides a comprehensive head to toe survey of the female human from a zoological, sociological and historical perspective. Each chapter covers a body part of a woman like the eyes, lips, neck, feet, etc. etc. In fact, one third of the books content is on the parts of the head.
The same pattern is followed for each body part to give great insights into its historical and sociological views up to the present time. Fashion trends are next, then biology/anatomy and the sexual significance. Sex is considered in nearly aspect of every part as Morris presents the female human as the most sensual and sexual creature on the planet. In short, the book makes the case that nearly everything about a woman, physical and non-physical, is ultimately about sex in some way, mostly directly.
As an example, the social-historical pattern of trying to produce the super-feminine is extensively documented. Whether it is smaller feet, larger breasts, fuller lips or longer necks, nearly everything has been, and is being, tried. If a slight difference in anatomy indicates being female, then culture tries to take that attribute to an extreme to produce the super feminine, perhaps super-sexy woman.
In the biological category, Morris brings his background as zoologist to bear as he repeatedly demonstrates the principle of neotony in both men and women. Briefly, neotony is the preservation of some child-like or adolescent characteristics through the lifetime. These are expressed differently in men and women but humans have the greatest degree of neotony of any animal. There are plenty of insights into men in the book, but the emphasis is on the more subtle and complex woman.
Morris also does not shy away from describing the mistreatment women have endured through the ages. Modern day cosmetic surgeries are placed in historical perspective. Most of the alterations have been going on for a long time, but it was cruder, riskier and sometimes crueler in the past (and sometimes still today). While there is more material on Western female trends, the author makes an effort to be global in all considerations.
This is not a science book. It is an interesting and well written study for the popular audience. This might matter to some readers looking for a high quality of argumentation in the case Morris presents, which is quite good overall. Sometimes though, in providing evidence for a broader point, the book confuses cause and effect. For example, in the chapter on hands and the wonderful dexterity women possess: "Take a look inside any factory that involves, say, the intricate assembly of the tiny working parts of electronic equipment, and you will see rooms full of agile female hands." - p 127. True, but having women fill the factory has more to do with exploitation at lower wages than their manual dexterity (which is generally superior to men). If the jobs paid three times as much, men would likely occupy them even with less suitable natural skills - that is about harsh economics, not biology acting as cause to the effect Morris observes. In another example, in the buttocks chapter, the fact that female buttocks contain more fat than males leads to the assertion - "the fact that it is gender-linked automatically makes it a female sex signal" - p224. Really? Automatically? Of course the buttocks are sexual, but having smaller more nimble hands is also gender-linked, yet they are not automatically considered a sexual signal, nor should they be. This just seems to be careless wording, but it illustrates a little too much zeal to drive home the sexual nature of women. These are not big issues, but do not expect the book to be tightly argued on a consistent basis. It is fascinating and educational, but not necessarily designed to sail through a critical review.
Finally, there is always the possible objection that Morris being human is susceptible to bias in favor of his own species when he assesses subjective female qualities. Perhaps a male aardvark would conclude the female aardvark is the sexiest creature on the planet. I think Morris does a nice job making his case in this regard and it is not an easy point to overcome ones own bias. Of course, I'm quite biased myself as a life long fan of human females, so who knows? Perhaps the female carpenter ant really should win, but not in my book and certainly not in Morris'.
I love the book and recommend it for both men and women. It is too explicit for children. These age recommendation things are always tricky, but I would recommend a minimum age of 17 and preferably a little older. Apart from that caveat, enjoy learning about women like you've never learned them before. Five stars for being daring enough to take on the subject in such an interesting way.
EXCELLENT BOOK.......2007-07-09
I found this to be an excellent book which every woman should read to have a far better understanding of her body. Too many women don't understand their bodies and thus cannot appreciate their capabilities.
This is also a book that every man should read to gain a
better understanding of the Female Body. This knowledge
makes a man much more able to give a woman far greater satisfaction while making love.
A great number of divorces result, directly or indirectly, from an unsatisfactory sex life. Generally,
this is due to a lack of knowledge on the part of one or both partners.
junk science.......2007-06-05
Desmond works on the premise that the genders are equal as long as they keep to their 'biological places,' i.e. women stay home, men work, and other crap assumptions built on biased science. He even asserts that women naturally have long hair solely because men like to touch it. This is a book about women, but even this book aims to talk about women as if they are the 'other' gender. Even when the books aim is to make women the focus, it still talks about women as if they are abstract beings to be inteerpreted by a man serving perspective. Crap! Stick to the book, Women: An Intimate Geography. It is a great book written by a woman, who bashes through gender science to illuminate how much of what we take for science about the genders is nothing but crock science aimed at perpetuating gender biases than actual science. What is a man writing a book about women for anyways- a woman will be far more illuminatory on the subject.

Book Description
How can you find love when you don't know what it looks like?
Naked in the Rain is the story of 47-year old widow, Norah Edwards, who meets 23-year old James Ross in a bar in Montauk, New York, one lonely day in September. Norah takes James home, and he soon discovers that she has as many secrets in her past as she does scars on her back. Twist and turns abound, each passage building to a surprising crescendo in this sexy novel. James helps Norah pick up the pieces of her life as she aids him in finding a direction of his own.
"Debra Markowitz may just be the Jacqueline Susann of her generation. While her NAKED IN THE RAIN revolves around more simple lives than the entertainment industry's movers and shakers depicted in Susann tomes, Markowitz is no less sexy, bringing characters to life with a sensual style that almost makes you blush while reading. She doesn't foresake great storytelling for sex, but incorporates the two in such a compelling way that the phrase page-turner seems to take on new meaning." Bill Lieberman, In Touch Magazine
"This is a riveting first novel, a story of love and betrayal, of survival and triumph. Naked in the Rain is an inspirational story, at once triumphant and penetrating." Bruce Feinberg, BMF Studio
This book was a surprise and a pleasure to read. Debra Markowitz crafted a very strong heroine in Norah, who practically sets the pages on fire with her sensuality. I expected your typical romance, but this was so much more and I found myself reading it very late into the night. I can't wait to see what Debra has in store for her readers next! Sex Sells, Naked Delivers!.......2007-08-13
My wife made me read this book. I'm not one for romances, but she promised this one had enough twists, and sex, to keep me interested. She was right! This was fun! I can usually figure out a book's ending within the first twenty pages, this had me fooled. Of course I'd need a plain brown wrapper if I were to read it on the train, but it would be worth it.
A Small Book Big on Story .......2007-07-30
A friend mentioned this new author, Debra Markowitz, and she raved about her book, Naked in the Rain. I had to take chance. I was not disappointed. As I suppose I'm like everyone else, too busy to breathe most days, Naked in the Rain was refreshing. I read it in a weekend and was laughing...and crying...like a lunatic. If you want to "feel," and also love sensual books, read Debra Markowitz's Naked in the Rain.
Covers All Emotions.......2007-06-04
Naked in the Rain made me laugh, cry and blush. I actually got caught at work sneaking peaks as I could not put it down. The storyline took you to a different place yet was so real that I could easily relate to what was going on in Norah's life. The most upsetting part of the book was when it ended as I wanted it to go on. I am looking forward to more books from Ms. Markowitz and hope she doesn't wait too long.
a great story.......2007-05-29
"Naked in the Rain," is Markowitz's first novel, and should be considered a triumph. It's the story of fourty something Norah Edwards, who brings home James, a young 20 something stud, from a bar one night. In addition to their sexual relationship, the two become fast friends; each providing something the other has been desperately seeking. For Norah, James is the rock..he listens as she attempts to explain and confront the ghosts of her past. For James, Norah is the motivated woman who helps him find direction in his own life.
Ultimately, one could call "Naked in the Rain," a romance. It IS romantic, yet not sappy. It's also very sexual and sensual, but not too erotic. It's a nice mix of romance, suspense and sadness. It's filled with secrets and surprises, and will keep you hooked until the last page.
spellbound.......2007-05-05
this book was awesome! i couldn't put it down - it was a powerful story that took hold, page by page, i couldn't get enough. it was the right combination - enough sex to keep it interesting, but not so much as it overpowerd the story. i was instantly drawn in with the long island locations. i loved the way the story unfolded. this was a great first book and i can't wait for the next - keep them coming - kudos!

Great Book!.......2006-08-09
A very imaginative and inspiring book. After reading this book I felt that a whole new world of romantic possibilities was opened to me. I wholeheartedly reccomend that women should buy this for their guys (or leave it laying around where guys might sneak a peak at it), and that couples should read it together. -D. M. Excellent!!.......2005-05-22
'Naked Relationships' is thought provoking. It offered me greater insight on the mechanics of my relationships, starting with my own role in the equation. Reading Jan's advice allowed me to see all of my relationships in a new light! Love yourself and the rest will follow.
Wonderful reading!.......2005-05-22
'Naked Relationships' encourages you to find out who you are and where you want to go. I enjoyed reading the book because learning more about myself is a good thing. It's not a magic wand but even people who've been married over 30 years can benefit from getting to know themselves more and learning to love themselves more. Read this book - do it for yourself.

Product Description
In what internal organ does true love reside? I began to feel the need to dissect and compare the guts of men to see what makes the rotten ones so awful and the good ones so hard to come by. I could see myself pulling out body parts and pinning them to paper with little labels, the heart of a liar, a good man's spleen. Armed only with curiosity, a tape recorder and a list of questions covering love, sex, commitment, marriage and family, I set out in search of real love

527 Naked Men and One Woman.......2007-09-21
This was a great read, witty and insightful. I really got inside the head and the heart of the author as she shares her adventures while obtaining these interviews. It influences my thoughts on how men look at relationships and makes me ever more thankful for the strong relationship I have in my life -- I sure have been lucky!
An Amazing Fun Read!.......2007-09-16
I ordered several copies for my friends. We loved the author's surprising conclusions. Silkstone dared to go where no other woman has gone before ... and she returned to share her adventures. 527 Naked Men & One Woman is a feel good book - especially for those on the exit side of a relationship! It's also a big help to read BEFORE getting involved.
And What Have We Learned Here?.......2007-07-05
Alrighty then, let's examine some fundamental axioms:
Men and women are inherently different; there is indeed a communication gap; and relationships are exceedingly complex and difficult.
Armed with these Truths, self-proclaimed "love investigator" Barbara Silkstone--a lady with ample resources, and ample time on her hands, it appears--grabs a tape recorder and endeavors to examine the male psyche by interviewing hundreds of this shaggy subspecies, from sea to shining sea. Her "discoveries" can be found in her humorous yet uneventful book, 527 NAKED MEN AND ONE WOMAN: THE ADVENTURES OF A LOVE INVESTIGATOR.
Author Silkstone interviews men, young and old, from all walks of life, regarding their love lifes (or lack thereof). Some of what her interviewees tell her is jarring; some of it funny; much of it bland; yet the reader can depend on Silkstone to interject her own thoughts and reactions to what is being conveyed into her microphone. And what Silkstone thinks, and how she reacts, is always entertaining and delightfully humorous. Yet when the reader finishes this book, what has he or she learned, by jove? We learn that:
Men and women are inherently different; there is indeed a communication gap; and relationships are exceedingly complex and difficult.
527 NAKED MEN AND ONE WOMAN: THE ADVENTURES OF A LOVE INVESTIGATOR is a quick, fun read, yet this love investigation turns up nada. And I want to know why the one woman isn't naked? Would've made for a better cover.

Enlightening.......2007-04-25
527 Naked Men and One Woman is not just an exploration of what goes on in mens' minds. It also takes an excellent look at the female psyche, which could help women understand their behaviors toward men in a new light. Silkstone writes with a simplicity that is beautiful, humorous, and touching, no matter your sex. All men and women - single, divorced, or even married - should curl up with this book and see what self-discoveries come about.
A Great Read.......2007-04-25
Ladies, if you want to get into the mind of any single man out there, you have got to read this one. I do not think that any woman or man for that matter out there ever imagined what men are really thinking about love, marriage and sex
